Cleanup Detail is definitely more involved since you have to replace mop buckets, pick up giblets, incinerate those giblets, and mend bullet holes, while with Powerwash its point and shoot, sometimes with special cleaner to go faster on bits.
Then there’s Serial Cleaner and the aptly named sequel Serial Cleaners, which makes everything a bit more frenetic as it becomes a stealth action cleaning game.
I’ve played Viscera, and I actually really like it cause I can get into a bit of a flow state when I’m going along. I find it similar to Hardspace imo.
Idk…I don’t find it that much frustrating, yeah a couple of times here and there you might make a mess but it feels still relaxing. Of course power wash is more relaxing as you cannot make a mess or get irritated by anything, well sometimes to put the damn stairs and reach up.
Should note that AFAIK there’s no confirmation that their project was in fact an actual Disco Elysium 2 (instead of a spiritual successor or something), and neither do we know whether a DE2 is not being worked on, just without people that made the first game.
Of course, it really does not bode well for any such game, but ever since Life is Strange 2/Tell Me Why vs True Colors where the former DLC-studio made a far better mainline game than the actual company making them managed, I am being more careful with considering a game “ded” just because the people involved with the game left.
🤷
To focus on the more important part: People got laid off. Which sucks. Hard.
Honestly since the original artist(s) left, I wasn’t interested in a follow-up anyway. A second disco Elysium without the same art and story direction would have little to no relation to the game that came before.
I liked some of the ideas of the game. But found the story and gameplay loop uninspiring and dull. And the sound design, awful. Before you get to the first hub I’d already turned off the music.
Got some great designs and some great sets. Certain ideas somewhat reminds me of chrono trigger.
I love this game so much. The video is very accurate but doesn’t mention that once you overcome the hurdles this game throws at you, you can become so damn powerful that your wand can shoot 50 nukes per second that each erase the entire world you are in which temporarily reduces your framerate to several seconds per frame.
Yet you’ll still die if you step into two pixels of the purple stuff and something shoots at you while you got turned into a flying sheep.
Have really enjoyed many aspects of this game over the years of beta, but still can’t get past how slow things feel in the game.
Granted flat time I played was about 4 months ago, but the movement seems like it should be much faster and combat feels like it should have much more density to it; it just doesn’t feel great to be slowly trudging around looking for mobs to unleash on.
One of the things I’ve really enjoyed about Diablo (3 and somewhat 4, although they’ve had similar issues) was the ability to quickly move around and jump into huge packs of enemies.
