Just a dude who believes in the Fediverse over standard Social Media sites! I’m a fan of horror, cute animals, and handsome lads.

LostWanderer,

ROFL They’ve gotten breached so many times and drained of data, it’s cute that they are trying to gaslight consumers into believing this bullshit! It’s all about looking popular and inflating their free accounts, so those freeloaders can become payers at some point in time. Steam is far more secure than Sony, I would prefer that they’d just give up with trying to strong-arm PC gamers into signing up for their PSN Slop.

LostWanderer,

That was a delayed grift release, no wonder they stealth launched it (given it would’ve tarnished them even more). I hope they get a lot of shit for this scammy ‘game’.

LostWanderer,

I want quality content and not the slop Ubishit and Evil, Actually are wont to create; there are several ‘AAA’ games studios that belong on the right-hand side but wouldn’t fit in the meme well.

LostWanderer, (edited )

I feel like the themes of slavery were so poorly handled that it shouldn’t have even been a plot point. The game would’ve been the same without them or with them; as they didn’t handle it with much nuance and doubtfully had the writing chops to do so. While the Boss Battles with summons are spectacles, they can get really dull the more you fight bosses. I would say it’s a mix of infantile oppressive fantasy to occasional brilliant scenes that made me question why this game was overall so-so. Those strong moments of writing never stuck around long enough to make a greater impact; it made me feel like two people were responsible for the writing of this game, and the worse writer won more often.

I wouldn’t say it’s the worst Final Fantasy as the FF 13 trilogy still exists, however, FF16 is a middling entry in the series.

LostWanderer,

Hmm…I just think the direction they took with Lightning and the other characters wasn’t ideal and the moment to moment gameplay was not the best; I said nothing about outright hate for the game. Furthermore, I only feel disdain for real things that could actually cause harm to the world.

LostWanderer,

Yikes, EA is so freaking silly! Why leave money on the table by not presenting a revamped and fresh single-player experience?! They could make it backwards compatible with The Sims 4 letting you import families from The Sims 4 to The Sims 5. If they really want to keep The Sims 4 on life support like this; they need to put in the work with a revamped and much improved engine that can support all the weight which will be put on it. As there are people who will without a doubt buy all the packs and try to run them…To mixed results.

I don’t see Project Rene doing as well as they are hoping; for all the positive changes it will introduce to build/buy mode and even Create a Sim. The omnipresence of free to play bullshit will be evitable because EA (Evil, Actually) will use that as a means of fleecing player base of their hard-earned cash.

LostWanderer,

Wow, this shouldn’t be a hard choice. Keeping the current model of buy to play would be best, I wouldn’t think that Palworld would even benefit from a live-service model, given those games seem to die a lot faster than the standard buy and play.

LostWanderer, (edited )

Yeah, this Ubislop will be forgotten, we will poke fun at its glitches. If they had tried to capture people’s imaginations (but fell just short enough like Skyrim) we’d probably be talking about this game for years to come. Star Wars: Outlaws is just an overhyped cash grab.

LostWanderer,

I feel like the missions are pretty good for the most part; I’m pretty far in but have yet to actually play more since a frustrating random encounter. I do find the unskippable skinning cutscenes and little too long animations for doing something a bit trying. Also, the bug where Arthur will stow all but his sidearms and main weapon after riding the horse for a few minutes. When you dismount, you’ve got to re-equip every time. This issue is fixed in multiplayer though, but sadly to this day unfixed in single-player. These are really my only gripes, as Rockstar did a good job of approximating the feel of the late 1800s in the USA.

LostWanderer,

I’m most excited for Avowed, but it could end up being a stinker (unless the delay actually helps the game). The Fable trailer didn’t do enough to get me particularly interested in it.

LostWanderer,

I played The Outer Worlds; it was great story wise. I’m merely worried as delays have often been a sign that a game is flawed and needs a lot of work that will happen after launch.

Shadows of Doubt - Release Date Announce Trailer (September 26th v1.0 and consoles) (www.youtube.com) angielski

This one’s been in early access for a while, but it’s finally hitting 1.0. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s a procedurally generated murder mystery immersive sim. A murder happens, you scan for evidence, track people by their address in the phone book, and make connections with red string yourself. When I played the demo a...

LostWanderer,

I’m excited to play this game on my Xbox, I’ve watched a few videos on Shadows of Doubt! The mysteries feel so organic and interconnected; as the game seems to weave a large web of intrigue the longer you play.

Space Marine 2 feels even more explosively, grimly, and hilariously authentic to the Warhammer 40,000 universe than the first game (www.pcgamer.com) angielski

A Warhammer 40,000 space marine is not just your usual sci-fi super soldier. They are hulking behemoths, 10 feet tall (and about 10 feet wide too). They don’t move like people, they move like freight trains. They have the physical bearing of an industrial freezer unit and the emotional intelligence of a crocodile. They do not...

LostWanderer,

I hope it will be a good game as well, I do like the Warhammer 40K universe (fascinating, as it paints a grim dystopian future which humanity has been entrapped within). Cancelling a beta is a dire move, I feel like they’re trying to hide something as well. It’s best to wait and not let excitement overrule being wise.

LostWanderer,

It’s the oddest choice to sue FromSoftware because Elden Ring, a Souls-like which, is advertised to be a very difficult game. Personally, I stay away from Fromsoft games because of their difficulty, I play games for fun; any game that requires an extreme amount of skill right out off the bat is simply not it to me. I guess this person can waste their money doing whatever they’d like; I don’t see them having any hope of winning this frivolous lawsuit.

LostWanderer,

Amazing, I love seeing the ripple of Bethesda’s own ‘Wall-to-Wall’ union and other studios making the effort is taking shape in other places in game development. Corpo scum needs to be forced to play nice, unions are so useful in the pursuit of that goal.

LostWanderer,

Wow, I’m surprised too! I wondered if Palia was going to make it due to the financial struggles Singularity 6 had faced. I’m hoping the Palia business model gets adjusted so that it can trickle in more funding.

LostWanderer,

I didn’t know that Daybreak had a history of messing up games! Huh, I’m a bit concerned now. However, Daybreak could turn their bad track record around. It remains to be seen though.

As to their business model, yeah, Singularity 6 could never have survived on overpriced cosmetics that used fake currency to induce more spending. That was a dark pattern choice which gave me pause, I couldn’t justify buying a cosmetic item.

LostWanderer,

Of course, Disney Dreamlight still has a premium currency, but at least it isn’t as bad as gachapon, pay2win. Apparently, meeting weekly goals on the free Starpath and finding chests will net the player some Moonstone. Starpath is basically like a ‘battlepass’ except since this game has no combat, it’s more like a ‘living your life’ pass, free and premium in nature. I might pass on Disney Dreamlight Valley because encouraging corpos to utilize these curses in the gaming world feels…counterproductive to me.

Embracer rolls out new AI policy to 'massively enhance game development' | Game Developer (www.gamedeveloper.com) angielski

Article textNewly-restructured Swedish conglomerate, Embracer Group, will leverage AI models to bolster game production. As noted in Embracer’s annual report, the company has adopted a new AI policy package it claims has the capability to “massively enhance” its production process by “increasing resource efficiency,...

LostWanderer,

They’ve gotten drunk on the hype of AI (LLM in disguise); I can’t wait for them to make a costly mistake that wakes them the fuck up. Or dissolve into a formless mass of corporate sludge.

LostWanderer,

Yeah, there is always new Kool-Aid for executives to consume. I just wish more research, discourse, and testing were done before these concepts became either a scam or a true innovation. Of all the things that you’ve mentioned, there are only a few things of which I have no knowledge of; as a lay person, my familiarity with some of these tech developments is due to the major media coverage some got. I’ll have to look into the unfamiliar tech innovations.

LostWanderer,

Eh, if there’s no announcement, I can’t be bothered. As of late, the Switch has been showing its age to me. I don’t want to buy games for out of date hardware; I will play the games that I own, but not buy another game until Nintendo gets vastly improved hardware out there.

LostWanderer, (edited )

Honestly, I’d accept something much better but not a massive upgrade. The thing enough power under the hood to make it easier for devs to port their games. Making the Switch an attractive choice and for games to run smoothly on their handheld/console. I would prefer Nintendo bring back home consoles, as it would be easier to make a strong performer.

My hope is that they make a true contender, however, this might not be Nintendo’s plan. They very well may choose to make another gimmick; perhaps Nintendo will refine a gimmick this time with their next hardware release?

LostWanderer,

I’m excited about this game! It looks like a lot of fun, and has so many paths to follow that this dev team hasn’t mentioned!

LostWanderer,

Hmm, I’m less skeptical of this game. I won’t get it on launch though because these games benefit from plenty of time for post launch patches. This will be on I play when Ubisoft puts it on sale for like 25% or 50% off.

LostWanderer,

I’m ready for this game, it looks so good! Obsidian has the storytelling chops to make this world come alive, Bethesda could never.

LostWanderer,

Eh, I thought I was being funny, my attempt failed. I was poking fun at Bethesda because they’ve put games that were either bland or watered down like Skyrim, Fallout 4, Starfield for example. Avowed feels fresh and interesting to me, I’m excited about visiting the Living Lands and experiencing that story.

LostWanderer,

This trailer got me interested! I’m fascinated by the cozy and survival elements of Winter Burrow.

LostWanderer,

Fallout 76 made a comeback? I was pretty sure that one is beyond saving…

LostWanderer,

They are masters of hype, not sure if they’ll be able to actually deliver because Starfield wasn’t their best work.

LostWanderer,

For a game that’s been out for nearly ten years, I’m not expecting over much in the way of actual work from this team. It would be nice as I do miss playing the Sims 4. I suppose this is only happening to reach a larger audience since the move of making The Sims 4 free to play and the packs their cash cow. Which most users have been happily buying despite these packs being glitchy and broken on launch, and for most of their existence.

LostWanderer,

I was concerned about this business model from the onset and my worries have proven accurate! Buying the game while in early access would’ve given them more funding to work with instead of going with a free to play with cosmetic only purchases. I hope the affected developers are going to be okay in this layoff heavy year. 😭

LostWanderer,

That’s what I thought too…In addition, needing to buy a fake currency with real money before being able to buy a skin pack has a dark pattern vibe to it! They would’ve been better off making the skin packs cheaper (using real world money) and listing their game for a reasonable price during early access. However, their staff is paying the price for the leader’s poor decision and that honestly sucks!

LostWanderer,

Do it and get appropriately lambasted EA, I dare you scummy bastards! Android Wilson is such a foolish individual. What would truly stimulate growth for them is making great games people would want to buy. Advertisements in games are a strong hell no from me. One of the main reasons why I avoid EA games is because of their scummy history in the gaming space, if they could let go of their shortsighted greed; I could be inclined to reward those slavering executives with a game purchase. However, they won’t until it really tanks their sales to the point of desperation.

LostWanderer,

Personally, I don’t think 7DTD is ready for a 1.0, there are stability and performance issues still plaguing this game. It’s possible the Fun Pimps could fix those glaring issues before 1.0 in June, but stability and performance have been a recurring issue in every version of their Alpha releases. Sure, the game at least has enough content to mostly qualify for a 1.0. They could always add new things via updates (if they don’t abandon the title post-1.0).

LostWanderer,

The style reminds me of Inscryption and that’s a cool thing to make a game based on!
