EarMaster,

I started playing it last year because my nephew wanted someone to play (apart from his friends at school). I kept playing it on a regular basis (I had bought the base game years ago, but have not paid anything since). I enjoy the colorful graphics which run fine even on my 10+ old gaming PC. Some rounds are short and you’re dead within minutes but often I reach top ten, but even then the rounds aren’t taking that long (20 to 30 minutes), which is something I like about the game, because I barely take the time to have hour-long gaming sessions any more. Despite its looks skill makes a difference when it comes to aiming and movement (most special weapons are movement skills). I mostly play the no building mode because I can’t manage shooting and building at the same time.

EarMaster,

Quake 3 Arena, but only if the tournament lasts no longer than 15 minutes. My heart can’t take more…

EarMaster,

I have to disagree. I don’t think the joker does look like either Neuschwanstein or Hitler’s painting of Neuschwanstein.

Nonetheless I agree that the artworks shown in the trailer are great.

EarMaster,

Transport Tycoon Deluxe

Of course there is always OpenTTD, which has by far exceeded the original, but I would just like to see a modern game (not necessarily in terms of graphics) with the same vibe. Transport Fever and all the other variants never quite achieved the same depth and complexity.

EarMaster,

The last game I did 100% was Psychonauts 2. I loved the world and after playing the fantastic story it was a good reason to spend some extra hours revisiting the levels.

EarMaster,

As you got invited by OP would you mind sharing your invites too? Asking for a friend me.

Day 10 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (lemmy.world) angielski

Today’s Game is Assassins Creed Black Flag. Honestly I’m kind of impressed I made it too 10 days. I totally expected myself to miss a day on my streak. Also. A few people in the past have asked about posting screenshots in the comments or stealing the idea for their own posts. Assuming the mods are chill with it I have no...

EarMaster,

How come that you kept all these screenshots?

EarMaster,

No. The only screenshots in my steam library are of some glitches I took screenshots of because it looked funny. And at some point I had a script running in Counterstrike that took screenshots of the game results.

EarMaster,

To be fair: Piranha Bytes would have ceased to exist years ago without them…

EarMaster,

Their engine clearly has problems with large enemys and yet the game mostly consists of large and ultra large enemys. What did you expect?

EarMaster,

Who uploads a trailer letterboxed in 2024…

EarMaster,

At least it’s a new setting, but as there was no gameplay it could be anything…

EarMaster,

If only movies would make more money than a mediocre game with (micro)transactions…

EarMaster,

My theory is that it already has been released on Steam years ago, but not as a Valve title. It has sold millions of copies in a Humble Bundle, but nobody has ever played it.

EarMaster,

I spent hours in the Papers Please menu just to hear the music…

EarMaster,

Several hundred hours of Oxygen not included

What adventure games do you recommend? angielski

pretty much the title. i have played most of sierra, lucasarts and telltale catalogues so if you are suggesting one of their games i’ve probably already played it. it doesn’t have to be a copycat, homage or in the same style as these companies’ games either, just that it must satisfy the vague definition of being an...

EarMaster,

It’s not really an adventure in the classical genre definition, but maybe Return of the Obra Dinn is something for you if you like solving puzzles and fancy murder mysteries.

EarMaster,

Does it have anything to do with the original storyline as far as the demo reveals?

EarMaster, (edited )

I don’t know the name. In the afternoons in the early nineties after school I was at a neighbor’s house. Her husband had a PC and a joystick connected to it sparked my interest. He showed me a flight game. I don’t remember much detail, but it was a vector based game with fast action based flying and you had to bombard or shoot enemy bases. The next thing I remember is my mother calling our neighbor when I planned to come home because it was already getting late and I had never stayed that long before.

EarMaster,

The statement says exactly that in my interpretation. “We have received a lot of emails telling us to look into this game. We know how to protect our brand. If there was any reason for us to intervene we would already have done it. Stop sending us reports.”

EarMaster,

I think they are totally planning on adding the new map to GTA Online. Just like in Vice City you visited the original GTA 3 map.

EarMaster,

Ah yes next year will be amazing for Star Citizen. I wonder when it will finally come…

EarMaster,
  • Transport Tycoon - I recently found a notebook of mine in which I wrote detailed lists of routes and vehicles. This is maybe the first game I fully embraced and played for hours.
  • Dune 2 - The first RTS game I played although I had no idea what it was all about (hadn’t seen the movie yet read the book at that time).
  • Red Alert - The OST is still great, the FMV hasn’t aged well, but gameplay is still great. The remaster is very good (alternatively use OpenRA).
  • Anno 1602 (1602 A.D.) - I played the demo for hours carefully avoiding upgrading my citizens as this would end the demo. Maybe the first game I bought myself and I still have the box.
  • Dungeon Keeper 2 - My first hype game. I upgraded my system for this (it was worth it).
  • Gothic 2 - Maybe the first Action RPG I played and it still holds up to current titles. In some aspects it even is better than Witcher 3 which released years later.
  • World of Warcraft - I played the open beta and was immediately hooked. I played until the second expansion came out.
  • Banished - Still my goto game for cold winter nights. It is incredible difficult and hard to find the perfect balance. You have to force yourself to play slowly which is wonderful.
  • Oxygen not included - I can play this for hours and hours. It has the same need for balance as Banished but a unique art style and endless mods on the workshop.
EarMaster,

OpenTTD is fantastic. But after playing Banished and ONI (among others) it is just too easy. There is no real challenge unfortunately…

EarMaster,

This has been rendered in real time in a game engine. I find it quite impressive how good it works and how versatile the tooling to create such animations is.

EarMaster,

Lamborghini Huracan: fast and exciting

Fiat Panda: outstanding fuel efficiency

Trucks: lots of hauling space

Why not build trucks with the chassis of a Lamborghini and the motor of a Panda. It would solve all of our problems…

Acclaimed roguelike studio behind Slay the Spire releases new deckbuilder after publicly abandoning Unity over fee debacle (www.gamesradar.com) angielski

TL;DR the developers of slay the spire created a fun free card game within 3 weeks to explore and learn the Godot game engine. You can play it here: megacrit.itch.io/dancing-duelists

EarMaster,

To be fair it would have been interesting to read this from someone who actually liked using Unity in the first place…

EarMaster,

I was really surprised by Titanfall 2. Looks like an ordinary mech shooter (okay there is nothing ordinary about that these days), but the story was solid and the level design amazing.
