DSi introduced region locking to Nintendo handhelds. I stopped buying them at that point. The next Nintendo system I bought was the switch, which was no longer region locked. The DSi kicked that off, so it might be my least favorite.
Favorite hardware is a much tougher nut to crack. Could be my first console, n64, or my first gaming apparatus, the Gameboy Pocket. But the PSVR1 blew me away and made me a little less into flat games. The PS5 has everything I love from PS4 onward (and does VR), and the Steam deck streams my PS5 from bed while also playing pc, retro, and Xbox games and being a full on Linux machine.
Home consoles were region locked based on physical barriers in the slots that would block a cartridge from a different region. You could just extract those barriers and the console could play any cartridge from any region, though. Handhelds had been different, though. Up to the DSi, you could buy a handheld cartridge from any country and it would plug in and play no problem.
I've always thought roblox was dumb, but its kind of just a playground. Kids need a playground where their imaginations are free to grow and thy're in control. Somewhere they can interact and learn how to socialize safely with other children. When i was a kid, that was a walk to the park with friends to kick a ball around, riding a bicycle somewhere, exploring, and working out some dumb activities to do... Honest question: how comfortable are you with the idea of just letting your kids go to the park by themselves for hours on end?
For better or worse, it seems like sandbox creativity games like roblox are filling that void for some kids. Not saying roblox is an answer to a problem, just that kids seem to be utilizing it as a playground where they get to be creative and in control. Not sure why I'm bringing this up. It's just a thought that occurred to me recently.
It’s been known since before launch that it wouldn’t come with a display port cable. Not sure about the Bluetooth thing. I couldn’t say for sure, but I Imagine it probably says something in the item description and on the box itself.
Sony was dumb for buying them when they did. Bungie was already kind of in a downward spiral and giving them all that funding just gave them a much nicer toilet for the flushing.
I bought destiny 2 and a bunch of the DLC last year to see what it was all about and it was just a confusing, miserable mess of an experience from start to finish. Well, assuming it was start to finish. I still don’t know where the start was or what the hell was going on. I felt dumb for buying it.
Oh yeah the gameplay and the environments made me really want to get into it more than anything else. I just couldn’t figure out why I was doing all this stuff or why I’m supposed to care about some dead character who I never met.

I forgot what the setting was, but the mode with the littlest deadzone/bounding box was the way to go for me. Had the butt of the wiimote rested on my leg for stability and played the game like a joystick aimed at the TV.
Holy shit I did not expect this! This is a game I’ve been intending to buy for switch for some time, but I’m just tired of buying 3rd party games from Nintendo. Steam Deck it is!
Edit: aaaand purchased. One of my favorites from the GameCube era.
As someone who just has a PSVR2 and a PS5, I agree. I think being able to include those features in PCVR games might entice VR developers to provide more feature rich ports of their games to PS5. Here's hoping it just needs some kind of official driver or something.
I’m almost 40 and I’d say there’s no age range to this game. The little bots are adorable and goofy little parodies of the characters they’re based on, usually found doing something ridiculous. It just oozes nostalgia and charm.
Little kids will enjoy it for sure, and there’s little challenge, but adults often find smiling unavoidable. At least this was my experience with Rescue Mission for PSVR.
Her introduction montage at the beginning, where she was doing all the exercises and training, didn’t do it for ya? Between the two, I thought the guy was less believable given his circumstances.
The way he was built in the show, sure, but he’s supposedly very irradiated, malnourished and poorly disciplined. I think the scenario of her winning that fight on makes more sense than him looking so buff in the first place.
OoT for me. ALttP and Link’s Awakening were already my favorite games at the time, but OoT came out at that perfect time in my life when consoles were being made for kids my age and 3D was this mysterious, exciting new thing. To this day, I usually end up replaying it about once a year, and I suspect I’ll continue doing that until I pass on.
I really want a PSVR 2, but I just don’t trust the library will be there to justify it. I might get a quest because I can do more with it than just game.
My favorite games are Omori, Disco Elysium and Outer Wilds. I cried for hours at the end of those games, and I think the common point in them is high-quality emotional writing and stellar OST (music really affect me) and my attachment to the characters....
Maybe What Remains of Edith Finch? Also, maybe it was just a weird time in my life, but I think I bawled hardest at the end of FFVII: Crisis Core back in the PSP days. Braid is an emotionally weird one as well.
Braid is a side-scrolling puzzle platformer with a mind-bending and somewhat heartbreaking twist at the end. I played it ages ago, but will never forget it. I don’t think it was very long.
