I really want this for a lot of games. GTA5 became this absolutely beautiful spectacle of a game once I had the ability to control the flow of time. Something beautiful about launching a rocket and watching it crawl to its destination under the twinkling sunlight, past the unsuspecting bypassers who barely have time to register that something is up. Breathtaking game.
I predict that this thing that is really great right now will become bad, so instead of enjoying it while it is good I’m just going to assume it will definitely go bad at some unknown time in the future and boycott it before it gets there so I can tell everyone I was right in the past.
I didn’t say anything about not enjoying it or boycotting it. I said that the more money Larian makes the more likely that they’ll turn into every other profitable company where making money becomes the only point. I don’t know why you and the other replies think I said something I clearly didn’t.
That may be true. Still a company, still doesn’t care about anyone besides as a consumer. I don’t get the weird parasocial relationships people develop with any company/corporation.
I guess Partners in Time would be when the time travel was discovered! Conveniently explains child Pauline as well, I suppose. Well, the “how,” but not the “why.”
I remember when they did that with Breath of the Wild. Link literally has a WiiU gamepad that you can’t use on the WiiU. You can only use it as a main monitor.
With “optimized for gaming” premise? That’s obviously nothing more than “hey we decided to allow you to terminate resource hungry explorer/copilot/edge when you play”.
Does Randy even realize how much the industry’s landscape has changed ?
First of all you’re in competition with your older games. BDL1 and 2 had soul and were good. BDL 3 is still ok (no idea about the pre-sequel but I heard it was the beginning of the downwards trend). Not to mention the literal hundreds (even thousands for some of us) of other good games sitting in our libraries. And the indie bangers consistently proving that we don’t need to pay 80$ and download a 200 Go day one patch to enjoy the medium in 2025. I hope this bankrupts Gearbox at this point.
I had the original Xbox all the way through the last series and sold it to get the last 100€. I hadn’t bought a game on the Xbox since No Man’s Sky and just didn’t see anything appealing about it anymore, it was just a steaming box until it was gone (and is at a friend’s, who is using it as a streaming box, lol)
