I continued Silent Hill 2 today. The game is Terrifying. I ran into the Mannequins for the first time and i don’t know what it is but they unsettle me the most, and it doesn’t help i suck at fighting them....
I am in a similar boat. And it isn’t just Vita, they did same with PS VR and PS VR 2.
If it isn’t their main home console, Sony can’t be trusted to support it with their first party titles.
Going to wait for actual announcement and details to make up my mind about this, but don’t care about it in general, and I doubt there is much they can say about it that would make me buy it on day 1.
Even if it’s a handheld PS4, if it can’t play any latest PS5 games, then Sony would need to support it with games made specifically for it, and I don’t think they give enough output to support two systems.
Steam Deck is supported by the huge steam library, so difficult to compete with it without good first party support.
They have just released a beta of streaming directly from cloud. Don’t know if there are any limitations, but if everything goes well, it may release officially in a few months.
I wasn’t talking about 3rd party, there are enough of them that will run on a PS4 level hardware as long as we don’t count new AAA. Problem is first party games. If there are no first party games, then on what basis can it compete with Steam Deck or upcoming Switch 2?
Today’s game is Uncharted 4. This was a landscape shot i took, the photo mode doesn’t remove sniper lasers though, but that’s okay because I’m sure Sniper Lasers are a naturally occurring part of jungles anyways. Today’s screenshots are a bit sparse because this season is going to be a bit busy for me....
Are you playing all Halo games at once? I recall you were playing Halo: CE couple of days ago, and there was also some mention of Halo 3. Or have you finished both those games?
Today’s game is Halo MCC. Me and my Friend finally got around to picking up our Halo 2 Legendary playthrough again (It’s hell on earth). We also played a few rounds with my brother on Multiplayer (I also made some progress on Uncharted by myself today). This screenshot came from a map i was on while playing. The map gave me...
Today’s game is Uncharted 4. I wanted to play some Halo CE (for whatever reason I’ve been craving that lately), but Halo MCC has decided to just stop launching from my external SSD. I ended up biting the bullet and installing it onto my internal SSD on my Steam Deck instead. This whole fiasco with my SD Card dying and me...
Me and a friend were going to play some Halo 2 today, but i forgot about my fucked about SD card, so i had to download the entire game again. ODST finished first, and i decided to just mess around in it since i’ve already beaten it and i was short on time today and wanted to play something. This was a lovely mugshot i took of...
Today i continued more of Uncharted. I have gotten into taking Clips of my Playthroughs i wanted to share, and so i started reusing my Pixelfed account. Just so everything is the same I will be hosting the images over there and then cross posting them over here (on the main instance). If you want to follow that to my account...
Tonight was Zomboid night. We inducted a Friend into our Zomboid Group, and have a possible 4th on the way. We started a new world with the group, and decided to take on the prison for fun (something none of us have ever done, at least on the preset difficulty). Me and my Friend who played Cable decided to make a new character...
Wait, how can you replace human’s lung with a Pigeon? I mean, without morals, I understand that, but how would the science of it work. I want to know more about what happened to that person.
That’s actually same as me. I did play Diablo 2 tons of time. But that was just to finish the game with different characters and different skills combo.
Like one time with Amazon with bow skills, then next time with Amazon with Javelin skills. Also, since I couldn’t afford many games back then, I would just re-install it every few months or year or so, and play through it once or twice.
Though, to be completely fair, I didn’t even know you could keep playing after finishing the game. Thought it was some glitch that game restarted again 😀
So, not exactly same as you. I want to play with all the characters. At least once.
For me Genshin Impact and Hades (including Hades II) are two examples. These games have relatively simple art styles in comparison to e.g. the realistically painted art of certain Blizzard games (WoW, Hearthstone hero portraits), but they are hard to learn even to someone more advanced in art creation.
I haven’t played Genshin Impact, but from what I recall from trailers, there are many anime game with similar art style. I am currently playing Atelier Ryza, and I believe it has similar art style too.
Even with Hades, I don’t think the art style is difficult, but a lot of effort has gone into visuals of that game. There is lots of detail in everything. So, maybe in that sense it can said to be hard to reproduce.
I don’t really buy games much these days. I was trying to see what games would work on Mac and was pleased to see a new Assassin’s Creed game is coming out on Mac natively. I was pretty stoked with this news, I’ve never played any of the AC games but they’ve always looked good....
Well, they would get unpatched games which won’t be playable anyway 😀
But no, this only happens for downloaded game, and even then it’s generally for games you have downloaded as part of subscription. If you stay offline for long period of times (don’t know exact time these days, but I think it’s at least more than a month), then PS needs to recheck if you still have the subscription, or if the game is still present in subscription.
Today’s game is Zomboid. I’m finding it hard to let go of Dead Money (fully intended). Me and my friend continued the story of Cable and Jerry tonight instead....
So i kinda want to buy FFXVI but looking through the opinions and reviews it stands somewhere between the worst final fantasy game ever made and second coming of jesus wit plot ranging from infantile dark fantasy to great story with deep engaging dark themes....
Disclaimer: I haven’t played it yet, but I have talked to people who have liked it and who have hated it.
The games is very good, but it’s not a typical Final Fantasy game. They have removed, or reduced the RPG elements, and made it a very good action game with good narrative. So, if you go in expecting an RPG like previous Final Fantasy games you won’t like it. If you just go in expecting a good action / adventure game with some RPG elements, you’ll probably end up liking it
I personally have a huge backlog of games I’m happily playing through on the deck. And, having been burnt a few times (Cyberpunk, No Mans Sky …), I very rarely buy new full priced games anyway (better to wait for a discount and some patches!)...
I agree with you, handheld can never compete with a desktop when it comes to raw power. So, if companies don’t consider it as a platform to target for, you’ll always have problem with latest games. Maybe not at launch, but you can’t upgrade a handheld “console” every year or two.
That’s the good thing about consoles, you buy it, and you know (most of) the games that come to the platform will just run on it.
I don’t have a SteamDeck so not sure how it works, but maybe they should make a sub-store for SteamDeck, that only has games that are verified to run on it. They can still have an option to search and download game from full steam store, but it should come as a warning that these games aren’t specifically made / optimized for Deck.
Just thinking out loud. Don’t actually know what SteamDeck owners really want. :-)
Changes that should have been there from the start, but at least they listened in the end. Being able to skip the long animations of each fight is a godsend.
I was playing Fallout 76 with a friend tonight and I found a fish in a toilet. It made me laugh more than it should have. This is what I chose to share tonight
I think we should just forget the game exists. One day they will announce it, but until them, let’s just assume there is no Silksong, and Team Cherry is just taking a long long vacation.
Astro Bot had a PS VR game in PS4 era, and apparently it was very well received. Then there was a “tech demo” with PS5, and now they are releasing a full game for PS5.
Interesting article. They also talk about indies and different consoles:
Having heard some indies at GDC talking about skipping Xbox and PlayStation because there just isn’t much of an audience for indies on those platforms if you can’t get included in their subscription services, we ask Lowrie about how healthy the console ecosystems are for indies these days.
He echoes the indies we heard from in acknowledging that Switch stands apart from Xbox and PlayStation on this front.
“They’ve created an ecosystem – and therefore a user base – that is really open to interesting concepts and gameplay ideas,” Lowrie says of Nintendo. "The PlayStation and Xbox user, for as long as I’ve been doing this… there’s a lot of people that still like indie games, don’t get me wrong. Cult of the Lamb has done very well on those platforms. But I think the large majority of those people buy those platforms to show off what they can really do. They’re looking at Destiny. They’re looking at Helldivers. They’re looking at Starfield. They definitely push those.
“I think the platforms themselves all are really strong believers in indie games. They really do push them. I think on the other end, the consumers – as big as they might be – there’s still a smaller portion than we would like on Xbox and PlayStation that are open to looking at a pixel art platformer and going, ‘I’ll give this a shot.’”
Can’t you make a free PSN account from any country? I know people in countries with no PSN using US PSN account, without any VPN or anything. You just set your country to US, or UK.
According to a comment on another post on lemmy. The takedown notice is fake, probably sent by some troll. Garry’s Mod is still removing stuff though, because they think it’s real.
