I’ve no doubt she’ll continue to do well, but I’m not sure BG3 directly helped her get the role, other than making her voice recognizable to people. I read an article that said that Sandfall did blind voice auditions for E33. They didn’t even know they’d chosen Charlie Cox until after the fact.
Looking to ask for people’s favorite tactical RPGs because I have played a bunch but never really gotten into any. XCOM, Fire Emblem, Disgaea, Advance Wars, Fallout, etc....
Front Mission was pretty fun, and it looks like there’s a remaster available that shines it up a bit. I don’t remember much about the plot, but you build and outfit a squad of mechs, and you can specialize them for guns, or melee, or rockets or what have you.
Fuck yeah, the Amiga was an amazing gaming machine. We had cracked copies of damn near everything. Wings, Lemmings, Lost Vikings, Monkey Island, Leisure Suit Larry, Blood Money, Menace, The Killing Game Show, Woody’s World, It Came From the Desert, Bubble Bobble, Elvira, Out of this World… hit after goddamn hit.
Shit, I might need to reinstall WinUAE if that’s still a thing.
Before they get too far, can someone please make sure they have the rights to Joe Walsh’s “In The City” this time? It would be fantastic music for an intro, outro, or act break.
They did do a lot of teasing of the moon and the Crystal Palace space station, but there are also signs in-game about a high-speed rail line to Chicago opening in 2080. So the “Chicago but wrong” descriptor might be exactly what it says on the tin.
Not gonna lie, I was hoping they’d use some Law of Surprise stuff to give Geralt a new ward and let you create your own Witcher. But, if instead I get to do teleport strike bullshit with Ciri’s powers, I’ll be content.
So, I’ve spent over 2 hours on Steam searching for a nice game to play. But it’s all junk, as far as I’m fed with Steam recommendations. I liked ksp2 1, cities skylines 1, age of empires 2, baldurs gate 3 a lot, I just finished Divinity original sin 2. I like rpgs and management / factory games like workers and resources,...
If you liked BG3 and Divinity 2, I’m obligated to mention the Pathfinder games: Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous. The graphics are a touch simple, but the writing is great and the detailed character building scratches an itch for me. As far as I’m concerned, Owlcat is currently the only real competition Larian has.
I’ve just broken my left collarbone and for the next couple weeks have left arm in a sling. Thinking about games that are played just with the right hand?...
Can anyone recommend a distro (and desktop environment?) that’s going to be almost the same as desktop mode on the Steam deck? I’m getting more comfortable in that than I expected to be in any Linux, and to my surprise and delight I haven’t had to delve into the command line at all yet.
Oh damn, it’s descended from Hulk UD? I loved that game, definitely one that was on my mind for this type of game. I’ll certainly be checking this one out then.
Ah, maybe that’s the missing ingredient. Pretty sure I don’t have that yet. I fucked off from the main story almost immediately to go find balloons and such.
There’s so much I want to like about Warframe, but last time I tried it I couldn’t get any sense of what a new player’s supposed to do to start progressing, or to get the story in a comprehensible way. The build timers also made me sad. I got all the parts, just give me the Rhino.
Still though, “We All Lift Together” is a certified banger.
I saw that one thrown around when I was searching before. I wouldn’t really be playing it for the story, but as long as the story’s there, should I be familiar with the first two?
Hi people, I currently have two friends who injured their dominant arm in unrelated accidents and mostly can’t do anything but sit around and watch movies....
WotR is so fucking good. But a quick PSA for anyone interested: Install the Bubble Buffs mod so you don’t have to spend 5 minutes casting your 37 buffs before every large fight.
I’ve been sinking further and further into the RetroDECK time-sink of setting up my emulators just so, and having the most fun doing so. The PS2 is a largely unknown system to me, I neither had one nor spent much time before now playing through some titles....
Happy new year guys!😀 Just now, it hit midnight here, and it’s officially 2025. I was playing Pennon and Battle, and I realized it’s the last game I played in 2024!! That gave it a different kind of meaning. Now I’m curious, what was the last game you played in 2024?
I remember fondly the days of playing Heroes of Might and Magic II, never played HOMM3 or anything after, but as I looked at the latest and most “recent” heroes games… they’re all rated/reviewed SO harshly. Apparently, they never gained steam like the earlier titles. RTS seems to have the same issue, tapering off....
The graphics are much simpler than BG3, but Owlcat has done some fantastic work with their Pathfinder games.
Wrath of the Righteous is much more polished and expanded than Kingmaker, but they’re both great. They both have the option to play in turn-based like BG3, or real time with pause like the old BG games.
That’s a fair assessment. There are a ridiculous number of classes and subclasses each with their own quirks. And that’s without getting into multiclassing or Wrath’s mythic path system. I’ve definitely spent 20+ minutes leveling up before.
Do you like JRPGs? Yakuza: Like a Dragon is fairly recent and has a sequel (that I haven’t gotten to play yet). The story is NOT your typical RPG fare, it’s a modern drama about an ex-gangster trying to get back on his feet after prison (it gets emotional, I cried). But the combat is a classic turn-based RPG and it’s fun, stylish, and just barely complex enough to stay engaging.
Twisted Metal: Black II please. Or even one that’s a little more of a dark comedy like TM2. I just know I hated everything after Black. (Why the fuck were we racing instead of fighting sometimes?!)
This is utter hogshit, but also seems relatively easy to work around. “I am legally forbidden from sharing my opinions on the quality of Marvel Rivals.” is a pretty clear and succinct review that technically flies under their legal fuckery.
I used to play the hell out of 1 and 2 back in the PS2 days, but I haven’t touched the series beyond that, and haven’t even played 1/2 much in the last 10 years....
So I found out after I posted this that there’s a demo, and 40 minutes in I already like Valvotorez more than Laharl, and at least on par with Adell. Seems like I’ll finish the demo to eb sure, and probably pick it up.
