Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery. This game is fairly old now (like maybe 15 years) and I’ve only played it once and it took like 4 hours of total playtime, but it remains among the most memorable games I’ve witnessed. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Partially agree. The series as a whole fully agree, game by game is iffy

XC1 can absolutely stand alone and really needs you to go in blind

XCFC doesn’t make sense without having played XC1

XC2 again can stand alone but you’ll catch some story stuff sooner if you’d played XC1

XCTTGC makes no sense without XC2

XC3 is this bizzaro mess I’m still not sure what the fuck happened but I think it does need XC1 and 2 background knowledge

XCFR retains XC3 heavy reliance on the previous games, but cranked up to levels that makes the Star Wars sequels seem almost reasonable

Sometimes you’re just craving something specific or need something a bit smaller scale instead of a massive AAA. After finishing Cyberpunk 2077, I bounced around from God of War to Assassin’s Creed Origins to Spiderman, and on and on, all great titles but just stopped after a few hours… the game that finally grabbed me was an indie from a few years ago called Crying Suns.

If you want a small game with killer mechanics and that you won’t feel like you’re abandoning after a few hours, try Into The Breach

If dying over and over again is what’s making you angry, turn on God Mode. The story is amazing. Without God Mode, I would have thrown it on the heap of games started that never hooked me. It was worth setting aside my pride to see a beautiful, intriguing set of stories and relationships unfold.

Project Zomboid has been in early access for over 10 years. It was released into early access on Nov 8, 2013, and it’s STILL not finished!

Factorio was in early access for 8 years. What’s your point? Indy games take a while to develop because they gain haters and naysayers, like you, logarithmically compared to the funding that they get.

So far, Dyson Sphere Program has been in early access for 4 years, and they have one hell of a game.

I technically own Project Zomboid, I just don’t really have any particular projects to complete in that platform, so I’m not exactly what you would call a fan of the game. I can see potential for an absolutely immersive RPG that could compete with Fallout 1 and 2 once the developers have time and funding to complete what they want to do.
