Well, never meet your heroes… Or just never look up cult classics… I was going to recommend a little “game” I enjoyed, then I went around looking if there was an updated version… Turns out the creator decided to make some NFT crap based on it. What a disappointment.
I’d say this is the result of someone asking ChatGPT for “rage bait post for a video game forum” but it has too much insufferable personality to be AI generated
This reads like dialogue written for the “pretentious writer” friend character trope who is always shitting on other peoples’ work but hasn’t ever had any success with his own in every B-list Hollywood meta comedy: smug, confident, completely wrong, and utterly without purpose or substance.
Sonic Origins used the same engine and basically was like “people seem to like classic Sonic games. Let’s make Sonic Mania themed in Genesis era games”.
And yet…they STILL fucked it up. Not as badly as they usually do, mind you, but still.
You are wrong about borderlands as there is one more and it is pretty muc h perfect.
Tales from the Borderlands.
Shame they never made a sequel for it but the artistry, music and story are all so well crafted. Someone loved Borderlands making that.
Long time from fan, it’s super frustrating to see 2 completely multiplayer centric games in a row. 0 interest, don’t even use summons and play souls offline to keep out invaders.
MAD MAX from 2015, while not tied directly to the new movies it scratches an itch I haven’t found in any other game. It’s dark and bleak and brutal. The combat on foot and behind the wheel are both incredible. Nothing quite like being in the middle of ripping a convoy 7 new assholes and being hit with a dust storm. It can be repetitive if you want to complete everything but BY THE GODS OF VALHALLA is it a fucking blast.
It actually is directly tied to the movies. The character who first gives Furiosa a chassis to build from isn’t quite as hunchbacked as in the game but he is credited as “Chumbucket!”
There’s a level in one of the Battlefield: Bad Company games where you’re ambushed by two attack helicopters in the desert and the only cover is a small building. Did I mention Bad Company has fully destructible environments and you’ve already fought in said building so it’s full of holes before the helicopters start blowing it apart? Or that a third helicopter shows up mid-battle?
It’s not too bad if you know what’s coming and preserve some cover, but if the building is in bad shape when they show up then you’re not going to have a fun time.
Absolutely love these posts. Look forward to it each week! I’m really curious to watch SteamOS grow into something bigger for desktops someday.
While many of us would probably go to a more specific Linux Distro, having the option for the average user to move away from Windows (especially in a less intimidating or familiar fashion) is a big step forward.
I envy you. If you ever decide to get into the mods, I wish you well on your extended break from literally everything else.
Also, the Dawnguard DLC is pretty fun and you don’t have to do much of the main quest line to start it.
I say this mainly because Serana’s awesome and out of all the vanilla companions, she’s one of the few with an actual personality. And Laura Bailey always gives a great performance.
She’s just fun to have around. Plus you get crossbows and some cool armor not in the base game.
Lol, sorry, I just really enjoy that DLC. You play however you want, but I need to just point in her direction because I love her.
I hope you’re not playing Anniversary Edition for your first time with the game. Getting bombarded with all that Creation Club stuff would not be my ideal first impression.
