New first-party peripherals, with less than a year left on the console in question? Idk, the only other one that comes to mind is PS4 back button attachment, and that was also puzzling, then and still.
I think the main drawback for me was how unlikable I found Booker and Elizabeth to be. It didn't help that Elizabeth would start talking every time I tried to listen to a voxophone. I remember having to take a break from the game after attempting to listen to one 3 or 4 times, but she wouldn't stop talking.
I really like the gameplay though. I'll boot up Infinite every once in a while to play Clash in the Clouds.
The game itself was for me mid - not good not bad, but the ending? I can’t believe no one mentioned it yet, that was the most impressive ending I’ve experienced in a game ever. Without spoilers, for those who played it, the piano notes and then darkness, I couldn’t believe it, it was so good.
I’m crying I loved this game so much, even enough to pilfer through the convoluted mess it is to join a private server lobby to continue playing. Ahh I’m so excited!
Gigantic looks something like Smite? Is that what I am getting here? I was hoping for an Overwatch / Team Fortress clone (unironically). I really need some more competition for this type of game.
If not for Planescape being on there I would have assumed they meant only more recent games. No Jade Empire. No KOTOR. Not even Neverwinter Nights or Fallout 1 & 2 or Icewind Dale. Let alone all the classic SSI Goldbox games or even Bard’s Tale (the original from the 80’s not that shit on Xbox).

Isn’t that pretty much it? Everyone wants to make video games. All of the sudden everyone wants to invest in video game development because they realized there’s money in it. But video games are a big commitment for consumers (compared to most consumables), we literally only have so much time to dedicate them and there’s SO MANY GODDAMN GAMES. Like, an Eldritch horror inducing amount of video games if you have FOMO. And that’s still a drop in the ocean compared to all the people who want to make video games. Hundreds if not thousands of cool games go completely unnoticed by basically everyone every month, seemingly.

Putting Peak devs on any moral pedestal is wild to me, did we forget that they put a backdoor in every lobby with Bingbong? Because no it’s not ok for devs to being able to just join any lobby and spy on it’s player.
It's quite funny that Strange Scaffolding seems to embrace uncertainty with er...uncertainty. As in, they keep things explicitly contract based in order to keep people from expending too much time and energy into a singular project. I've always thought of contract work as something rockier due to taxes, benefits, etc. I think though, they're just ahead of the curb and if they're successful enough more power to them. Clearly something is a bit amiss though, if the head of the place can't afford a ticket to GDC. I do like however, that they showed up to socialize regardless. Which is pretty much the main reason to show up to one of these anyways.
