I’m a huge Hitman fan (even been streaming it recently because why not). Have the same opinion. It’s why despite SASO being within my range to accomplish with some amount of ease for most missions they all devolve into mass murder. It’s just more fun to use all that shit. That’s also why Freelancer mode is so much fun. You get extra objectives to specifically use assault rifles or snipers or explosives and are REWARDED for it. Bang bang boom
I love that Fallout is now thought of as a first-person game, but it started as a turn-based isometric team RPG in 1997 which was, itself, a near-remake of a 1988 game, which I spent hours playing as a kid.
They’re amazing. I highly recommend it if you like games in that style. The first two Baldur’s Gates were also like that (I haven’t played the latest).
Can confirm! My daughter is getting pretty good at video games and our video game time together is some of my fondest.
Any parents looking for a good co-op game, I can’t recommend Wobbly Life enough. It’s basically kid-friendly, multiplayer GTA with zero predatory mechanics. It’s a flat $15, and goes on sale sometimes. There’s loads of content, and more coming out pretty regularly. We’re 55 hours in and nowhere near exhausting the fun.
The devs recently posted pictures of their visits to medieval castles in the area that the first game takes place. Henry’s actor was also spotted in Prague a couple of days ago. It’s pretty safe to say that it’s going to be a sequel of some sort.
I used to work in a small shop based in one of the towers of the Charles Bridge and one day where were some people checking the insides. I didn’t get to talk to them, but they were doing some preliminary research for a computer game. Back then I figured it’s either Kingdom Come 2 or an Assassin’s Creed.
It was years ago, but these games can have a monstrously long development cycle.
100% this has been my last two years in gaming. Xcom, Warcraft I and II, Outpost 2, Stars!, Cave Story, Sim Tower/Sim City, Darklight Conflict and now working through Chrono Trigger
I still frequently play the newer xcom 1-2. I really want to play the originals, but I feel like I need to read some guide of the basics, since it’s not very clear. I assume back in the day there must have been a manual or something to reference.
This game was the only one that managed to give me motion sickness. I don’t know what was up with the graphics, but I felt nauseous after watching my brother play it for a few hours. Maybe it was all the flashing lights, small fonts, repetitive music, and confusing camera angles.
Can confirm that emulation is great with a powerful PC because the native resolutions on the console often didn’t do the games justice, and they’re absolute eyecandy upscaled 5x. Being able to modify a game that would otherwise run at 30 FPS so that it runs at a smooth 60 is also wonderful
