It got one? The HD collection came out in 2012 and is honestly still pretty good, plus you get DMC3 with it.
I’m generally against remaking games that are currently perfectly playable. I’d vastly prefer getting DMC6 before they re-release the original for a second time.
I second this. Especially since I think the first one still holds up. You will have to reintegrate your brain into being cool with the locked camera, but the game still plays well and has a lot of fun moments. DMC has had a really fantastic and interesting life beyond the original entries, so I think it'd be more fulfilling and interesting keep seeing what can be done with the series than to try and mine old content.
it got a remaster; a remake is usually something that recreates the game from scratch.
DMC1 did not age that well in terms of gameplay, imo, as much as DMC3 did; it’s a little stiffy! But it is true that it still plays much better than many PS2 games.
I’m a huge Hitman fan (even been streaming it recently because why not). Have the same opinion. It’s why despite SASO being within my range to accomplish with some amount of ease for most missions they all devolve into mass murder. It’s just more fun to use all that shit. That’s also why Freelancer mode is so much fun. You get extra objectives to specifically use assault rifles or snipers or explosives and are REWARDED for it. Bang bang boom
For me, stealth optional is a challenge to use it. I can’t resist being the stealthiest boi I can be, on the off chance there’s unique dialogue or rewards. It works ten percent of a quarter of the time.
The fucked up thing is that the Turbo Tunnel is actually one of the easiest levels in the game. The only levels easier than it are the first two and Surf City. Everything from the Snake Pit onward is where it gets really tough, but so few people get there that they don’t have the same level of notoriety.
Ok, so I found a novelty account on X/Twitter (“Quest 64 Official”) that has been spreading Quest 64 memes and think it’s hilarious, so I’ve been reposting them to Lemmy.
I like to think I’m immune to anything people could post from my time on the early days of the internet, but yeah, it’s like a sea of totally unfiltered opinions/content over there. There are still a lot of good fandoms, memes, news, etc., but you have to also scroll through conspiracies, political astroturfing, and every hateful thought that someone decided to write today.
Fortunately it’s not the only place I casually scour for content for the fediverse.
