The mission I’m describing is unavoidable. I won’t spoil it, but it has serious consequences for both Arthur and the plot. It’s the kind of art that really punches you in the gut.

Tying up clansmen and turning them into red mist on train tracks, feeding them to gators, or just setting them on fire sure never did get old though.

I had so much fun with dread earlier this year. It motivated me to buy and mod an original GBA so I could finally beat the copy of Fusion I’ve had since I was a kid. That really got the ball rolling on me finishing as many Metroids as I can ahead of Prime 4. I think I’ve finished 4-5 now. Still haven’t done Super Metroid, which everyone tells me is the best, but I’m a snob and I want to get a Super Nintendo controller to play it with.

I don’t even think they really hid it from the console space. Their entire PS3 launch was peak hubris. They just don’t step on rakes as much as Microsoft does, and Nintendo would shoot a litter of puppies if it helped them protect their IP rights, so they look better in comparison.

Yeah that tedium doesn’t go away, imo. There’s a mission that seems inconsequential at the time, but has huge implications for the main character that I really didn’t want to engage with, but the story is the story, there isn’t much if any player agency.

I suggest going on the hunt for the Klan rallies that happen in one area of the map before putting it down. Incredibly satisfying killing those pricks in exotic ways.

Seems a foregone conclusion at this point that they’re going to brand a PC as an Xbox and allow it to run both Xbox and PC games on it. They may not even bother making the hardware themselves like they’re doing with this partnership on the “Xbox” handheld which is really just a cross branded Asus handheld.

Do people really get hours of fun out of losing races due to catch-up mechanics?

I regularly get blue shelled and I still smoke people. There’s still lots of strategy in the game and randomization is something that keeps games fresh. At the end of the day it’s an arcade racer, not everything has to be Gran Turismo
