I like how their example of “moral nuance and gray areas” is just a binary choice lmao. Baldur’s Gate 3 has really ruined how I view this whole genre. I don’t know if it’s sadder for me, or companies that clearly weren’t/aren’t willing or prepared to swing at that level of nuance.
I have been checking for updates on this since I first heard of it on the loading screen of PoE2. If it’s anything like the pillars games I am gonna be real happy
I’m fortunate enough to still have my full collection of RB4 instruments functional after all these years, and I frequently bust them out with my wife and my friends when the booze hits just right.
In the announcement they really emphasize that you’ll keep the songs you’ve already bought. What they haven’t clarified is whether you’ll still be able to continue downloading dlc tracks that are already released. Severing that from the playerbase would really suck.
Although they are releasing one final DLC pack before this ends, so who knows?

They are just stopping their weekly DLC release schedule. No reason to think anything is going to happen to current DLC. Just nothing new going forward.
Is this game still playable on modern systems? Can you still buy the peripherals?
EDIT: I searched it myself and found the answer is Yes to modern systems, but No to peripherals. You have to buy overpriced adapters at retail and used equipment on ebay/craigslist.
I’ve been dying to relive those younger days with the drum peripheral but it’s damn hard to find nowadays. I wish I could find something for my Series X to play with my preschooler. She’d get a kick out of it.
Clonehero is pretty good. People sell auduino guitars that work better than the old controllers. I converted my old guitar hero guitars into an auduino guitar.
YARG is still in development but has vocal support. I've been putting off trying it out since Clone Hero works for me, but I've been keeping an eye on it's development.
I chucked an old hard drive with something like 20 bitcoin on it from my college days without ever giving it a second thought. I think it was like $5 each then. Imagine my surprise when BTC hit $20k.
Clone Hero can run on any PC. And it works with any USB MIDI drum kit. You can find used cheap ones as low as $100 or buy a new professional E-kit for $2000. If you really want to learn to play the drums (instead of just dragging it out to play video games), the Alesis Nitro is a really great quality kit in the $300-400 range.
What about this indicates AAA? Planned size of 100 employees, no projects announced yet, no mention of funding. Only thing I see is “cutting-edge” which could necessitate larger amounts of funding to develop, but that’s highly speculative and depends on the direction. I imagine after their Rocksteady experience, the people hired on from that company were looking for something different, not another “AAA” studio with shareholder oversight.
Bruh. Tf does a fascist audience have to do with Twitch falling off? What I was saying was that the debacle surrounding nudity was the last straw for most.
No but it’s one in a long history of siding with the most fickle and destructive of the userbase. Nobody was asking them to make a big deal out of cracker, not even actual neo nazis give a shit about cracker beyond its use as a tool to bad-faith shut down people they don’t like.
This was a time when actual slurs were being thrown around completely unmoderated, famously saying that ret–d was allowed, which is an apt descriptor for what taking that stance and then proceeding to ban a bunch of their biggest left streamers for a discussing a mild slur was. It didn’t appease the people it was supposed to appease, all it did was drive away even more of the less politically repugnant users.
I was there for the drama too. It was hilarious the people crying racism for saying cracker, and the immediately follow up with the r word the same day. Mostly the Destiny guys who intentionally are bad faith basement dwellers. It was fucked up because they gave zero context about the word and grouped it up with racial slurs like the n word, which is completely racist to do that. So I definitely agree with you there. I mean we both know why, it’s because the website is 90% white males.
