Any of the Warriors games (just don’t buy it, don’t reward them for releasing the same damn game 20+ times)
Legend of Mana (highly recommended, please don’t sleep on this)
Destroy All Humans 2
Ratchet: Deadlocked
Divinity: Original Sin
Resident Evil 6
Halo: Master Chief Collection
Lego Star Wars
The Tales games are long and go up to 4 players. I’d recommend them if you have more people to join.
Be prepared for a few roadbumps while you acclimate yourself to using emulators. It won’t be smooth at first, but it gets easier the more familiar you become with it.
I get what you’re saying. I do have RetroDeck fully set up but I only use for old games that I do physically own. Most of them haven’t aged very well and aren’t of any interest to my SO.
I have enough disposable money that I’d rather support “new” games/developers rather than emulating titles for other consoles.
I played one a few months back that might fit the bill. ‘Garden Life: a Cozy Simulator’ It’s a game where you grow/decorate a garden of flowers and sell/give them to people. Very pleasant.
Undertale, mercy run. The goal is to never kill a monster. It has combat, but the combat mechanic is moving your “heart” to dodge attacks and keep chosing mercy.
I don’t know if you’d consider visual novels a game, but even if the ‘character’ you’re playing is a male, the feminine aspects come out really well in Doki Doki Literature Club.
How the fuck do you recommend DDLC when OP says non-violent?
OP, DDLC is a fun game, but there’s a reason it’s tagged psychological horror. It’s not just a meme. I won’t elaborate in case folks wanna try it out. I do suppose it is a “girly” horror though.
As I post whenever someone complains about them not being free in !freegames: you can sign up for a free trial of prime, claim the thirty or so games currently available, cancel, and keep all the games forever without having to give a penny to Amazon.
I seem to have injured some people, I get the stance on Amazon - no one likes the megacorps. But if you’re subscribed, I can’t see how ‘free’ GOG games are a bad thing to anyone.
As with all offers like this Amazon are hoping that it causes people who weren’t subscribed before to stat paying them regularly, and posts like this are kind of giving them free advertising.
It’s similar to recommending something like reward credit cards (where you can make money off them as long as you pay them off in full and never pay any interest), if you’re sensible enough with your money then you can get a freebie but the provider is looking to profit off you messing up or forgetting.
Corporate bribery to lock you into some shit service like amazon. No thanks…I’ll keep my money, and just buy the games I want instead. I will save money in the long run
Nah, you can unsubscribe after a month. If the price of the games you want is more expensive than a month of Prime, you come out ahead, and it can frequently work out in your favor.
