This is only true sometimes. Some crackers will change the save location for some games, and the location where the save will be stored is entirely dependant on how the cracker has removed or emulated the DRM. I’ve also had the pleasure of the crack-save not being compatible with the genuine-save, meaning I couldn’t transfer my savedata after purchasing a game. Though I don’t know how frequent that is.

Yes and no. If you get the DRM-free GOG release directly, you would not have this problem. Since this person stated they used the DODI repack, they’re now dependant on which release DODI used for his repack, since it may well be a Steam or Epic Games release.
I quickly looked it up, and the repack is based on the InsaneRamZes release, which in turn is based on either GOG or EGS, depending on which forum post you go by. So I’m not 100 % sure what’s actually being used here. According to the PCGamingWiki, there’s no difference in save location between the different stores, so best case scenario, OP can simply update the game to V2 and everything should be picked up.

My two major issues with the fame are how clunky and stiff the combat feels, and how awful the UI is on PC. Animations don’t let your attacks move with the camera far, so you end up attacking in the same direction even when you’re trying to track something to your side. This feels really bad with niss’s ult, because you need to wait between each dash to let the animation reset and give you the direction you actually want to go through.
The UI quite frankly feels like it was made for a phone. Every single choice requires you to hold the confirmation button, the interface itself looks scaled up too much, and the preview model for weapons and characters tends to bug out.
Would you tell me what games you have as a point of reference that the combat feels stiff and clunky? I think I generally play games with similar kinds of pacing so I haven’t personally noticed anything. It’s not as fast, fluid and flashy as say PSO2 New Genesis, but I wouldn’t say it feels stiff or clunky to me.
Agreed the UI is awful though. There’s a lot of missing functionality too… like there’s just no way to manage echoes in their own screen.
The combat feels like it could have gone either stiffer and chunkier like monster hunter or much lighter and responsive like warframe, but it chose the worst of both worlds. So right now you primarily use normal attacks, but they don’t have a lot of weight and locks your character into position and attack angle. The skills feel great in terms of weight (stagger, damage, flashiness, etc) but the cool downs spread them very thin early on, so you are mostly attacking normally.
I actually don’t like PSO2NGS combat for a similar reason, they lock players into a combo or attack pattern in a game that is all about movement and jumping around.
I’ve mostly been playing Hogwarts Legacy, a not very well known game called Reshaping Mars that I really enjoy, and I am aching to go back to Satisfactory but haven’t had the time.
I game on Linux using Steam. If those three other people who do this and are trying to play Hogwarts Legacy: go back to proton 7, something broke with HL’s latest update and proton 8.
i did use dlc unlockers to play a multiplayer game, and nothing ever happened, and i uninstalled after i get bored with it. But it might not work on Stellaris.

I remember it being blacklisted in Reddit’s r/piracy megathread, supposedly they used IGG’s cracks or something. I, however, never had any problems with them.
Tread with caution. Use steamrip.com or other safe sources if you can, and if you have to use this site, at least be wary, read comments and scan the fuck out of everything.
IGG is a cracking group with a mixed reputation. Early on they distributed malware, which continues to give them a negative reputation. Though, I haven’t heard of anything bad about them, in some time… some repackers also use their cracks, with no issues. I think they were the first that cracked the latest Armoured Core, for example.
Since when was IGG a cracking group? They're just uploaders. TENOKE is the one who cracked Armored Core. Repackers use SCENE/P2P cracks like RUNE, TENOKE, EMPRESS, SKIDROW, etc.
IGG is not a cracker. I personally don't trust them. I don't understand why they include unimportant files in their uploads.

What is the point of including these files? They're irrelevant.
IGG is bad because some of their repacks had their drm inside dll files, there were Ads built into the game at runtime, were found Cryptominers and startup malware included in their games and many other things.
I build a lot of tools like that and the first thing I do is to go to the developer tool in my browser and observe the network traffic. When you find the resource you’re after you scroll back and see what requests resulted in that URL. Going from those requests you figure out in the original static HTML document and resource, which parameters are used for the construction of the URL, that might require reversing some javascript, but that’s rare. After that you’ll have a pretty good idea how you obtain the video resource from the original URL. Beware of cookie set by the requests, they might be needed to access the next requests. For building my tools I use Perl or sometimes just Bash or a GreaseMonkey userscript to fetch and parse the urls and construct the desired output.
Like many, I’ve been playing a lot of Baldur’s Gate 3. I love the game, but part of me is already longingly looking at the Pillar of Eternity or Pathfinder games for a bit less complicated level design.
The 3d worlds are nice, but I always have the feeling like I’m a little lost.
The Pillars and Pathfinder games are both relatively daunting in terms of world size and, at least for Pathfinder, the rules are much more gritty… remember Pathfinder is a spin-off of DnD 3.5e and sticks relatively closely to that. While BG3 is based on the much more “friendly” DnD 5e rules. Pathfinder is much closer to BG2 than BG3 is, gameplay wise.
The big differences between BG3 and the other modern CRPGs is that BG3 does an exceptional job at presenting unprecedented player choice in traversal and combat. Other games have dialogue skill checks and all that but traversing the world is flat, literally practically menu driven and combat is all measurements and numbers. BG3 has free-form qualities that, in the world of video games, have so far only been utilized in immersive sims like Deus Ex and, oddly enough, I’d say the modern 3D Zeldas.
Oh, I agree on all those points. The rules are definitely easier to understand, especially compared to Pathfinder. And I do like that you are more free in how to resolve a conflict.
The thing I meant was that for me, personally, interacting with the world is daunting. Having a 3rd person view of a fully 3d world filled with tons of items to interact with and with different elevations makes it hard for me to make a mental map of the game world. It’s not such a big deal for Deus Ex (where it’s in 1st person and you can get really up close to things) or with Zelda (where the amount of stuff to interact with is a lot more sparse). In BG3 I just constantly feel like I’m lost and missing out on things that might have been hidden from view because I looked at it from the wrong angle.
It’s just me. I miss the overview of the flatter maps in those other games. It allows me to focus more on the story and the exploration funny enough.
Again, I agree with everything else. I still love the game and the design, I just realize what I’m missing from my other favorite games.
I feel you on that front. I have a Steam Deck and use it over my PC 90% of the time and even have BG3 running well on it but I prefer to sit at my desk for this game because the clutter is so dense that I need that big monitor and mouse to pixel hunt for all the little items and clicky things hidden around the world… and being able to spin that camera quickly around with a mouse while traversing is super important to catching things
