Nowadays? Mobile games have always sucked. All the way back to snake on your old Nokia. That game sucked too. It’s just now the games suck and they’re packed full of microtransactions.
The “Warcraft 3 remake thing” was a complete and utter failure by blizzard, and destroyed a game that had flourished for over a decade. Fuck blizzard. Look what they did to my boy
Yuri’s Revenge had dolphins with laser beams strapped to them as a commandable unit and you’re worried about the logistics of small arms destroying a tank?
It’s a real bummer that we’ll never get the conclusion to RWBY after 9 volumes. Even if the quality has been on a steady decline since volume 3, and volume 9 itself was a fucking joke, I’d still prefer to see the story wrapped up. I was mostly just in it for Jen Taylor though, so hopefully she does something else awesome.
I grew up with a shareware version of Warcraft 1. I bought Warcraft 2 from a garage sale, turned out to be a burned cd with a home printed label but it worked and I played the crap out of it. Warcraft 3 though…is on another level entirely. Hands down the best game of my life. I played Warcraft 3 with some consistency for like 14 years straight. What blizzard did to it with “reforged” is a fucking disgrace and completely unforgivable.
What are your favourite games to relive your nostalgia on what emulator? I used to play the hell out of Monkeyball on gamecube so I enjoy using Dolphin for that or Mario Sunshine....
Not sure Persona 3 belongs with the others seeing as it just got another rerelease in the form of Persona 3 Reload. Currently playing it on my Series X and it’s great. Unfortunately no female protagonist though.
Other than that, Parasite Eve is one of my personal favorites.
pretty much the title. i have played most of sierra, lucasarts and telltale catalogues so if you are suggesting one of their games i’ve probably already played it. it doesn’t have to be a copycat, homage or in the same style as these companies’ games either, just that it must satisfy the vague definition of being an...
Couldn’t make it more than a couple hours in this game. Everything was just so “generic open world Ubisoft game” and I found the dialog to be obnoxious.
Victor Vran was surprisingly good. I bought Inquisitor Martyr and have never made it more than an hour or two. I think you need to be a diehard fan of the IP because the gameplay is generic af.
Okay let me start with two heavy hitters right from the get go and don’t forget these are only personal oppinions and I absolute understand if you like those games. Good for you!...
Not just that but the combat is boring as shit and brings “repetition” to levels I’ve never seen before. The only attraction to this game is that they actually got James Woods.
My first “souls-like” was Dark Souls on the Xbox 360. I had never even heard of the game, knew nothing about it, and played completely blind, never googled anything. I finished the game in about 40 hours. It was the best game I’d played in years.
I had fun playing Wonder, but it was just really easy with the exception of the bonus world. Another case of dumbing down in the name of “accessibility”.
To me the most toxic part of og MW2 was all the cheaters. I played mostly free-for-all but you saw it in TDM as well. Two guys sitting in the bushes using “tactical insertion” to kill each other over and over and rack up killstreaks. It pissed me off that they never patched it out or even acknowledged the fact that nobody ever used tactical insertion for anything but cheating.
The Banner Saga 1-3 has you leading an army and offers many difficult narrative decisions that don’t necessarily affect the story outcome but absolutely can make or break your next battle or just generally make you feel bad. Battles are turn-bases tactical style.
I thought Super Mario Bros U on the switch was too difficult to be enjoyable, so I appreciated how much easier (and more fun) this game was. And I play dark souls to relax.
I just recently locked in 3 more years of game pass ultimate for $180. That’s $5 a month to play 100+ games on console or PC. Granted, much of the catalog is games I already own or games I’m not interested in, but if I play just one full priced game a year from game pass it is paying for itself. Most recently that would be Starfield, and when I got bored after a couple hours there was no pressure to “get my money’s worth”. I simply uninstalled and moved on.
I realize game pass prices are going up and this deal won’t be available forever, but this is my 2nd time around already so the last several years of console gaming have been cheap as shit.
Saying “gaming has stepped up” while praising the most over-hyped, bland-ass open-world action series in recent history doesn’t lend much credibility to your comment.
Respawn has only made like, five games? Two of which are licensed IP and not any good. They have one great game in TF2. There was never a “respawn identity”. Hell the company was started by old Infinity Ward people.
Cuphead is absolutely gorgeous, it’s just hard to appreciate because you’re constantly trying not to die.
I grew up with Felix the Cat and Popeye and Betty Boop on VHS, not because I’m super old but because we were poor farmers. Cuphead is the only game I’ve ever played that has recreated this ancient animation style and it is done so incredibly well. It’s a masterclass in art style and gameplay at the same time.
