Ur-Quan Masters released on Steam (for free) (store.steampowered.com)

You might know the game under the name Star Control 2. It’s a wonderful game that involves wandering around deep space, meeting aliens, and navigating a sprawling galaxy while trying to save the people of Earth, who are being kept under a planetary shield.

shiveyarbles,

God I hope we don’t go through a phase of crappy games designed and developed using AI.

shiveyarbles,

Please enough with the hype and promises from the sales department

shiveyarbles,

Adding the good stuff, as usual Capcom fails to read the room

shiveyarbles,

I mean it doesn’t matter how a game gets made to me if it’s great. If there are a huge pile of shitty games, I just won’t engage. Same as it ever was.

shiveyarbles, (edited )

Yo I heard you liked ads, so I added ads to your ads so you can read ads while you read ads

shiveyarbles,

The one industry that will boom is those that validate and verify the mishmash of content that AI creates

shiveyarbles,

I remember reading The Hobbit when I was six, and in my mind ogre was ogray

shiveyarbles,

Sucking on that tit… there’s a lot more milk in there

shiveyarbles,

Judge: I further order you to complete Half Life 3

shiveyarbles,

It’s because that’s how capitalism works. If you keep buying stuff from the same source without due diligence, you can’t be surprised when you get stuck with another sucky game.

The only incentive to spend resources on fixing a game is to preserve reputation for future games.

"Oxygen Not Included" on sale on Steam this weekend (store.steampowered.com) angielski

Oxygen Not Included is on sale this weekend. If (like me) you happen to have wanted to play it for a long time, but were worried you lack the patience/stamina and give up after a couple of hours, the price is now at a level where buyer’s regret is rather unlikely.

shiveyarbles,

If we apply Occam’s razor, yeah he was defrauding donors.

shiveyarbles,

Microsoft needs to seriously work on quality control of their own controllers… cynics might say they are built to fail

Space sim Squadron 42 is "feature-complete" and gunning for Starfield's lunch with massive new video (www.rockpapershotgun.com) angielski

Squadron 42 is the single player campaign of Star Citizen, that is supposed to launch as a separate game. It's basically a small portion of Star Citizen, but with a story and ending. I'm still not confident; waited too long for that.

shiveyarbles,

Yup I think of some games as fidget spinners, they’re just zoneout games that fill time… then there are games with amazing stories, mechanics, characters, graphics etc that provide real, if shorter experiences.

What is something (feature, modes, settings...) you would like to see become a standard in video games? angielski

I’ve been thinking about making this thread for a few days. Sometimes, I play a game and it has some very basic features that are just not in every other game and I think to myself: Why is this not standard?! and I wanted to know what were yours....

shiveyarbles,

I’d like to see leaning around corners for strategic shooters. I think rainbow six used to have this, I know the original system shock had it.

    shiveyarbles,

I dunno but I do love those last couple of Jedi games… love that shit, and I don’t really like star wars

‘Call of Duty’ Doesn’t Just Depict Bad History—It’s Pro-War Propaganda (progressive.org)

I just started playing COD Black Ops Cold War because I got it through my PlayStation Plus subscription and wanted to try it out. I’ve previously played some others like Modern Warfare (1 and 2) and WWII. While it always felt a bit over the top and propaganda-ish, I really liked it for the blockbuster feeling and just turning...

    shiveyarbles,

I agree with this, and also the game is shit so it’s not hard to stay away

Elon Musk demanded a cameo in Cyberpunk 2077 while wielding a 200 year old gun: "I was armed but not dangerous" (www.pcgamer.com)

While Elon’s then-partner Grimes was recording her part in the game as cyborg popstar Lizzy Wizzy, the erratic tech billionaire turned up with an antique firearm to “insist” on being included in the game. “The studio guys were like sweating,” Grimes is quoted as saying. Musk adds “I told them that I was armed but not...

    shiveyarbles,

Was that the one with the really stupid conversation meter

    shiveyarbles,

They could develop it for eternity like star citizen

    shiveyarbles,

Bethesda game full of jank. Same as it ever was, Pikachu face.

    shiveyarbles,

It’s a good thing we all got 33% pay raises… Right?

    shiveyarbles,

The biggest crimes are not murder or stealing from regular people, it’s threatening corporate profits.

    shiveyarbles,

He had like one thing he said, “it’s a me Mario!”

    shiveyarbles,

That’s not a review bomb, you guys aren’t victims. That’s gamers telling you to fuck off with lies, under delivering, treating your employees like shit, micro transactions and battle passes

  • shiveyarbles,

A better approach would be to revoke gamer privileges for filthy casuals.

    shiveyarbles,

Generally I wouldn’t have a problem with this if use is restricted to the specific game, and the payment was satisfactory.

    shiveyarbles,

Use it like a BFG, we need to focus on quality games… not hamster wheels with micro transactions and battle passes.
