Despite some of the players complaining, a lot of the audience likes the pay-to-win mechanic. It's not a game funded purely by whales; a lot of average players will spend money on the loot boxes. "I like that it means I don't have to grind for ages, I don't have time for that" and "it feels like the sports trading cards I had when I was a kid" are a couple of the reasons I hear somewhat regularly. The idea that it could be designed to not be grindy in the first place doesn't even occur to them.
I am trying to convince my best friend to not buy the same cashgrab game every year but my mans just can’t stop himself. At least he doesn’t partake in any microtransactions.
Cyberpunk oversold and underdelivered at launch. 3 months later it was insanely good, especially if you had a high end pc. It never sucked, the management of cdpr made a mistake, thats it.
Looking online, I see you mean it launched on consoles today. Wonder if Fat Shark have console/crossplay, because they famously don’t crossplay with steam on PC
Crossplay between PC-gamepass and steam has been a thing since patch#11 / June 28. Also, crossplay between Xbox and PC should be available from day 1, although I can’t confirm this myself.
You’re right, I’m new to Microsoft ecosystem and wasn’t aware a Game Pass game could be available on one platform but not the other. In terms of multiplayer it’s says it’s “Xbox cross platform” but doesn’t elaborate what platforms those are.
A top favorite for me, for sure. I love the art style of the station, the zero gravity sections, the exploration of it all, the different skills you can use and how that plays into the story, the combat feels good, the premise is at its core interesting and good sci Fi, it just ticks so many boxes.
Picked up Might & Magic Clash of Heroes, which is basically an RPG turn based version of a match 3 game. Pretty fun so far, I really love these RPG combined takes on simple puzzle games, like Gems of War, Puzzle Quest and such.
Damn that’s crazy. I thought TF2 was one of those games you can’t play anymore, because they had people abusing bugs to crash servers or whatever. But it got fixed and you can genuinely play it like… 7+ years after release? Titanfall 2 also used to use the “we need you to buy mtx to keep the servers open” strategy, lmao. I also think the artists behind TF and TF2 are leading passion for the project and a few have just made more art in the same vein in their free time, as well as more collabs and promotions after release. But again this is years ago.
