Tomorrow Deus Ex is turning 24 years old, and DXRando is turning 4 years old!
Biggest Changes Since v2.0
You can now pet the dog! And other animals too. With bingo goals.
Way more goals randomization
Mirrored maps
Installer program
New game modes:
WaltonWare mode - A quick option to get into the game without the time commitment of the full game! You start in a random mission and win by completing one bingo. As New Game+ keeps making it harder, see how fast you can complete them or how many you can complete!
WaltonWare Entrance Rando - both modes combined!
Zero Rando - great for first-time Deus Ex players to benefit from the bug fixes, QoL improvements, and balance changes we’ve made, without any randomization.
DXR Vanilla Fixer: This one is for the purists. Use our new installer program and it will do compatibility fixes for the vanilla game (Kentie’s Launcher, D3D10, DXVK, Engine.dll fix, and more), then just run DeusEx.exe as normal and the gameplay will be unchanged but with high frame rates and resolutions!
Randomizer Lite - randomizes some things without interfering with the immersion and mood of the game. Great for players who haven’t played Deus Ex in a long time, or if you’re intimidated by the full Randomizer.
Randomizer Medium - similar to Randomizer Lite but with more randomization features enabled by default. Remember you can tweak the settings in the Advanced menu to play with any randomization level you want.
Serious Sam mode - same as the normal game but with 10x as many enemies. The player has increased health and takes reduced damage to compensate.
Speedrun mode - speedrun with fewer resets while still being able to enjoy higher difficulties. And a built in splits viewer!
As well as the old Entrance Randomizer mode and Horde mode
Enemies overhaul with more variety, augs, helmets, face shields to protect from tear gas, and randomized patrol routes.
Now up to 337 bingo goals
Randomized music, continuous music, and support for Unreal and Unreal Tournament music
Auto augs to reduce fumbling with all your F-keys
Many more possible locations for items, datacubes, nanokeys, crates, and enemies to appear.
Loot refusal system.
Reduced pixel hunting
Datacubes/nanokeys/medbots/repairbots now glow
Crates that become emptied now turn into cardboard boxes so you know from a distance
Training mission improvements including explanation of some of Randomizer’s features
They did it. They freed MvC2. The announcer said he was going to take us for a ride, and I nearly fell out of my chair. The training mode is expanded too. I can’t be bothered to care about anything they’ve shown in the rest of this presentation, but this is a huge deal.
They should just release a new game with the graphical fidelity of Fallout 4, but with better performance and animations. They could probably cut their dev budget in half if they made a game with Skyrim’s scope and FO4’s graphics.
No one plays Bethesda games for their graphical fidelity so they really need to stop wasting time there.
Frankly, they could rebuild skyrim with the fallout 4 mechanics for base building, shared item storage for crafting, weapon modding, and for shits and giggles throw in steam centurions being unobtainable dwemer power armor frames.
Fuck, sell me basic ass skyrim but integrate the top 30 mods on nexus into the base game. It’s honestly not hard to do better then they’re doing.
I’ve played only Origins but this trailer is not doing a whole lot for me. Even visually I don’t like it (which is bizarre because I think Origins looks like shit and still I somehow prefer it). Don’t really like this art direction, personally.
If you’ve only played the most tactical of all of the Dragon Age games and not the Action based variations that are literally the other 2 games, please stop talking
What do you mean “same combat”, like Amalur made some novel innovation? They’re both just 3D, third-person action combat; it’s a mechanic. This is like knocking Fallout New Vegas because it still had you shooting guns, and we already shot guns in Fallout 3.
The game looks disappointing for plenty of legitimate reasons, so let’s stick to those.
I think you misunderstood me, Amalur has a bland combat without much depth and that what I’m comparing to. The new combat looks like a generic third-person combat, they got rid of the tactical combat and didn’t offer anything substantial.
The boss fight with the pride demon looks okay, but the normal enemies are like smashing the button 3 times to kill them.
The opinions are all over the place right now. As someone who loved DA2, I have no problem with actiony combat and linear world, as long as the storytelling and companions stay the same quality.
Thank you! People forget that this hasn’t been a tactical series since the first game. It’s like people complaining that Zelda BOTW wasn’t a top down 2D puzzler.
Don’t listen to the whiners. There are 3 games in the Dragon Age series and only one of them can be considered a “Tactical” game. Hell, I remember all of the fallout and whining from fans when Dragon Age 2 became more of an arcade hack and slash. And then Inquisition was just a combo of the two styles that leaned towards Action over Tactics.
The Extended Edition was like the HD Edition of Age of Empires 2 (now called “Age of Empires II (2013)” on Steam). This is more like the Definitive Edition. Significant graphics improvements (as opposed to just taking the existing graphics and upscaling them), as well as new content and probably QoL improvements.
Yeah it seems like a remaster. Or more specifically via a re-implementation as a sort-of official mod for Age of Empires 3 (thanks for the correction) I imagine, and judging from the graphics.
It thought those pledges were just for Activison / blizzard stuff. The Bethesda purchase was before regulators started taking an interest. The new Indiana Jones is an Xbox exclusive Bethesda game for example.
Looks fun; I’m digging the art style and the lighter tone of the trailer feels fresh when compared to a lot of what’s out today. I didn’t catch if it was in gamepass though; either way I’m hyped AF for this
Doubt it’ll be game pass day one. Game pass only includes ea play basic tier which doesn’t include big new releases. You’d be better getting ea play pro for a month and unsubbing if you don’t want to play full price to play it at release.
