This game looks so cool. I loved how you shoot things into the wall and then jump on them, and also the clip where he throws a bottle up in the air, jumped up and hit it at the enemy. I have eyed Islets by the same developed earlier, which is also a metroidvania, but haven’t quite been convinced to buy it. Will be interesting to see how it ends up when it releases!
Uhhhh what are we supposed to feel about a studio launch trailer? I kinda hate them acting like they were responsible for Guitar Hero and now it will magically come back because they are coming back. Music Rhythm games didn’t go away just because Red Octane went away. Red Octane died in 2010, and we still had many years of Rock Band and other games after that. Furthermore, Red Octane was never the studio that made the games. That was Harmonix, and Harmonix never stopped trying to keep the genre alive. They most recently released Fuser, which was wildly creative and cool but audiences didn’t really care. Then they got eaten up by Epic, and now they’re trying to keep the spirit alive by integrating it into Fortnite (see Fortnite Festival).
Seems kinda shitty and disingenuous for someone to come back with the Red Octane name and pretend like Harmonix hasn’t been out here doing the work for literal decades on end.
I just hope they figured out whatever was going on that made it nigh unplayable on desktops/TVs. Something about the way the graphics were upscaled just gave me (and apparently a lot of others) HORRIBLE motion sickness and headaches. Otherwise… it is gonna be a Steam Deck exclusive.
For me it was the other way around. With some very few exceptions I found the Skyrim quest boring and too afraid to do anything fantastic. Oblivion was way better in that regard, but lacking in dungeon diversity and action gameplay.
This also seems to be the general consensus among TES fans. Morrowind has the best roleplaying depth and potential, Oblivion has the best and most varied quests and Skyrim has the best level design and combat.
Have you played OG Oblivion? Are you okay with it? Then don’t buy the Remaster. It was okay, but it was still basically the original Oblivion in a slightly prettier wrapper.
Then as long as you're fine with the poor performance Oblivion remaster is excellent. It's Oblivion (almost) as you remember it, the main difference being the ability to sprint (which doesn't actually change) and fixed attribute points leveling (which I welcome because the original levelling system was stupid where you needed to level minor skills to get +5 bonuses for attributes).
Damn, I love DONTNOD games and completely missed this reveal until now. The gameplay sequence at around 0:50 reminds me of the Jusant climbing gameplay which I particularly loved.
Pretty interested for this one - Despite the shortcomings inherent to their AA nature, DONTNOD games are always charming and full of interesting ideas.
Check out Boomerang Fu, Wizards of Legend 2, and Lovers In A Dangerous Spacetime. I used to host game nights and those were the most fun. WoL 2 is arguably not as good as the 1st one, but I think it’s more accessible. Most of these games have kid friendly graphics as well.
Sick, I can't wait to replay Castle Crashers with the boys, featuring Hatsune Miku, the Lethal Company employee, Jesus Christ himself, and a bottle of ranch.
