Dude stop. There’s no ethical consumption in post-/late stage capitalism. Nintendo is no worse than Microsoft, Sony, Steam, I could go on and on. Let people play their fucking video games—it’s one of the only nice things about living in this modern day. Fucking sheesh.
"There's no ethical consumption" doesn't mean prostrating yourself at the altar of an international company that sends lawyers to people's houses for writing emulators, lmao. Play your video games, but fawning over Nintendo Directs like they're your Sunday morning sermon is weird.
Hey man if you enjoy being ripped off and shilling for a trash company that sues everyone and their mom for making a cookie in the shape of mario, then maybe you ought to log off as well. Maybe get some perspective and evalute some life choices.
You are calling me the "dumbass", here? 😅 Both logic and philosophy say this perspective is wrong, and also, funnily enough, if this were true (as in, it's not possible to proof a negative assertion in a burden-of-proof scenario) then that very claim could not be proven either? Because "You cannot prove a negative" is, in itself, a negative assertion.
Luckily for us this is of course wrong, and you can prove a negative. Especially in matters of fact, since you could find a list of current filings of Microsoft and hence show that no, of all their ongoing lawsuits, there are none that are targetting developers (which is not the case, it was easy enough to find two cases without digging any deeper).
And I mean, this doesn't do shit to exhonorate Nintendo here, but let's not pretend Microsoft and Sony aren't constantly running hundreds of legal cases and multiple will be targetting developers of all sizes. They're just avoiding big press about most of them.
You can just admit you were wrong, you know? Both about current legal cases and about how how proofs of negative claims are viewed in mathmatics particularly logic, and in philosophy. That's okay. Sometimes we are wrong, and we learn from accepting that.
I don't disagree Nintendo is a shithole company, after all. Just take it as a learning experience: More than one company can be shite at the same time.
Nintendo is suing Palworld over patents they filed AFTER Palworld released, and said patents are so broad that many other games also technically violate said bullshit patents. Nintendo is the one in the wrong.
thought this was a very early april fools joke with the literal 1/100 scale Virtual Boy "accessory"
I mean as someone who is old enough to remember calling Blockbuster every 30min to see when they got the thing in stock to rent out...sure have at it I guess. But man you REALLY need to take breaks otherwise your retinas will crust over. Although when you are done playing it was neat to see the entire world in a shade of red afterwards.
I was a kid when this was in blockbuster, and I remember playing it in the store using the demo setup. I was glad to have tried it, but I was good after that, lol.
And even though there’s some classic 1st-person gameplay, we all know Nintendo is going to push for tons of traversal on the stupid motorcycle, which will kill the vibe for the whole game.
I made the mistake of playing too much in early access and it was a lot of fun but I am worried it ruined the experience. Looking forward to trying a fresh playthrough!
And I make a point of avoiding early access (though I have been known to drift too far in the other direction and I play a lot of PICO-8 prototypes), so I’m looking forward to seeing this one with fresh eyes!
Is it just me, or do the characters look distinctly less Toriyama-y? I guess it makes sense if this was made after he died, but I thought maybe they’d still stick to the style since it’s so iconic and synonymous with DQ.
I don’t care if there’s a motorcycle. I didn’t need 10 shots showcasing it from different angles. Whatever. Imagine if a trailer showed the Spider Ball for 10 shots. Boring.
But yeah. Hades 1 might actually be the best “full package” roguelite I have ever played. VERY solid gameplay and an unlock system that gets you your full arsenal within the first two hours but then encourages you to learn every single aspect of that as more and more options open up. And it is Supergiant so the story ranges from laughing at the horny to leaving you misty eyed to having a full blown weep-fest during credits as you try to comprehend what you just saw while immediately contextualizing it with your own Life. All done in a way that actually takes advantage of the game mechanics which is what makes Supergiant (and Greg Kasavin) so special.
I TECHNICALLY still have the final final ending to do with Hades 1. Should… probably do that some time. But what little I played of 2 so far is already so fricking good.
