I’m not a big Marvel fan (and know next to nothing about Blade) but he was one of my favorites in Midnight Suns (which is awesome) so I’m definitely looking forward to this.
I feel like the CIA guy the government wants for “just one more job” in the movies. Well fuck, I guess it’s time to lace up my skates and pop the fatcaps on the cans…
Why? Considering how much design freedom Marvel allowed the devs with Midnight Suns I don’t see why it couldn’t be. What parts of the immersive sim genre do you think can’t be done in a mainstream game?
Even their Experimental Gameplay games from before WoG and Tomorrow Corporation are worth playing if you can find them. That includes Tower of Goo of course but I remember there being a lot of fun ones back in the day.
They did Human Resource Machine, which is a pretty difficult low-level programming-based game, and 7 billion humans, which is a similar low-level programming-based game but incorporating multi-threading concepts.
Neither are super accessible if you’re not into programming, but if you are into it they’re both pretty awesome. I finished Human Resource Machine a few weeks ago and have made a start on 7 Billion Humans, so far so good.
I also played World of Goo and Little Inferno back on the Wii U lol. Very unique games with heaps of character.
This is really exciting. I’ve liked everything about No Man’s Sky except the gameplay which I thought was boring. If they can replace that with exciting fantasy combat, I’m in.
Also this trailer felt weirdly very similar to the NMS one. The zoom out from water, panning over the landscape, and riding ships dragons over everything had all the same beats.
I literally played some world of goo a couple months ago. I was so sad to see they’d taken down the community hight comparison feature. Fuck yes it’s back!!
Hello has really come around when it comes to building the framework for a great sandbox game and if you’re diligent about creating goals and tasks for yourself NMS can be fun. Not to mention seamlessly flying off a planet into space was an amazing novelty.
However if they want me to try Light No Fire they need to do two things: turn the page on the NMS gameplay loop ideally with some truly emergent gameplay, and fix the inconsistent and unintuitive UI. I did really enjoy a lot of my time in NMS but to do so I found I always had the feeling I was working against the system instead of with it.
My biggest gripe was they didn’t bring up my backpack inventory in the regular manner when selling. I keep thinks in specific locations and seeing a vertical list five items at a time was a massive waste of time and screen space.
This looks cool, but it basically just looks like a reskin of NMS in a fantasy world and they’re going to need to do more than copy Valheim to make this one fun.
Bummed out to not get any more news on Death Stranding 2, I’d been looking forward to it for weeks. But this teaser is really intriguing, gave a lot of things for me and my friends to speculate on.
Unlike many others here, I did enjoy Trials of Mana, so I am looking forward to this one. Looks amazing!
…except for that generic shonen hero. I am so done with games with generic shonen mc. I get that the new generation has to start somewhere, but it’d be nice to see more variaty in mc characters. Or on the very least let us create our own.
I’m basically a grumpy old man when it comes to the Trails series. First pair of games had a ditzy young girl with a staff as their lead, and then every other one has had self-insert harem-leading male characters, usually wielding a sword.
I was even upset at Hero getting into SSB. I’m sure Dragon Quest has its cool character designs, but NodsSilently isn’t one of them.
