Oh yes please! Might be nostalgia, but I absolutely loved the original. Will check this out.

that's a crazy upgrade from the first one, so excited for this!

Coskii, do gaming w Path of Exile 2 Official Gameplay Walkthrough

I’ve been playing Diablo 4 recently and am missing the helll out of all the options path of exile gives players to work on their gear. I have enjoyed what I’ve seen on poe2, and look forward to playing it eventually.

calabast, do gaming w Path of Exile 2 New Gameplay Trailer

I finally got PoE’d out a few leagues ago, after playing for 8 years or so. But after watching this trailer I think I miiiight have to get back into it again 😄. Looks awesome!

Dekthro,

Yeah me too, and because the evolution of the game was just getting so fast and became killing as quickly as possible.

This slower more methodical version has me craving it. Plus SIX new classes?! Yes.

Definitely give Ruthless a go, I love it… reminds me of early game ARPG’s on higher difficulties. Positioning really matters, you have to adapt based on what you get. It seems to have been the proving ground for PoE2’s new tempo.

Dekthro,

I’ve been following the updates so I knew this was the tempo that they have been dialing back to. Diablo 4 will keep my attention till POE2

Jacob Geller is one of the best video-essayists on YouTube. The thoughtfulness with which he approaches games as pieces of art is rare, the sleek, striking way he presents his theses is rarer still. There are youtubers that I find more entertaining (HBomberguy, Folding Ideas) but no one that I find more engaging.

“Who’s Afraid of Modern Art: Vandalism, Video Games, and Fascism” in particular had a profound impact on me (also loved the one about Golems). Being able to watch the better version of his videos (without the butchering to avoid YouTube’s copyright strikes) is like 80% of the reason why I got a Nebula subscription.

I love seeing this guy talk about the most mundane things. It’s cool to see someone look at something mundane and go “I wonder where this leads” and follow it.

Met this guy at Open Sauce this year. Super cool and chill dude, all his stuff is great.

Zanshi, do games w [Lord Frogmire] The Switch 2 is EVIL and I'm Tired of Pretending It's Not

I’m so tired of the whole discourse. Why is Nintendo “evil” while Sony and Microsoft have been doing the same stuff, and for longer? Don’t even argue, I don’t care anymore. I’m just tired.
I like Switch 2 and I will play games on it. It’s a lot cheaper than upgrading my PC. I don’t play online, and eshop has better prices than Steam in my country. Don’t yuck my yum, and I won’t yuck yours.

Played the original (but Win95) release as a kid in the 90s.

Exploration was a huge part of the maps. I remember constantly getting stuck and not being able to progress forward.

Listening to this on and off between meetings and been vaguely aware of the bullshit over the years (also apparently rampant transphobia) so not sure if this gets addressed in the video but:

ARE there good options if I want bugfixes for Bethesda games without all the “extras”? Back in the day I needed wryebash (?) and the like to have any chance of running my giant Morrowind stack. These days? I just want to play mostly the base game but with less run ending jank.

seralth,

If you want to just play Morrowind. OpenMW is the start and end of your needs. Optionally the I heart vanilla modpack. Which is basically just visual updates and minor fixes.

The game feels and plays like vanilla. But with less cashing and bugs.

Good fucking luck for oblivion or Skyrim. I got nothing.

Strange how the sponsor is an electronics store whose “experts” built most of the custom HW but solid-state switching, which is obviously faster than mechanical relays, only gets an off-hand mention at the very end.

LikeableLime,

As amazing as Microcenter is, they're largely a consumer electronics store, not really component level like RadioShack used to be
