Midnitte,

Nearly 900 games have been delisted.

There’s also Fable 3, which you can’t buy anymore because it used Games for Windows, which resulted in no more CD keys.

Midnitte,

Looks like the biggest improvement is the addition of the ray tracing cores?

Midnitte,

Ah your probably correct - but just wanted to denote the inclusion of the “RDNA4 RT

Midnitte,

Err…

!deadlock

Midnitte,

That’s the DLC for RoR2 that came out like 4 days ago - it’ll get fixed.

That doesn’t change RoR or RoR Remaster - plus… having been playing RoR2 Seekers of the Storm, I feel like people are being a little too sweaty - seems rather fine imo

Midnitte,

Worst me and my fiancé have experienced is one enemy fell through the map after being punched by the new character – not exactly game breaking

Midnitte,

Would be interesting, though I don’t imagine they’d do that - Deadlock is pretty far along (despite the “early development” tag) and they seem like they have a full dev team.

Valve seems to hire teams for new projects (such as Portal and Left 4 dead) so I’d be really interested to see if they’re doing something new

Midnitte,

More hands won’t hurt.

Well, that’s not entirely true

Midnitte,

Glad I haven’t heard anything about this game, lmao

Midnitte,

Oh it’s the Gunpoint devs?

Might have to give this a try…

Midnitte,

Interesting thought for a game to not be 3D modeled and programmed, but to be “modeled”.

Just finished Alan Wake 2 angielski

I just finished Alan Wake 2 and the 3 episodes of the DLCs. Alan Wake 2 is a literal masterpiece in my opinion, the gameplay was similar to its first game but refined, the story dark, mood, mysterious and weird. I also loved the references to the other games. Like Ahti. The ending of Alan Wake 2 made me wonder and sad (I won’t...

Midnitte,

Perhaps someday it’ll come to Steam so I can enjoy it. :/

Midnitte,

Yea it’s just dumb and a waste of effort imo (Epic should focus on actually providing a functional store first, not second)

Supposedly Control 2 at they very least should be on Steam…

Midnitte,

Epic would make more money selling it on Steam :/

Midnitte,

Regularly spaced updates are great - certainly Risk of Rain 2 comes to mind.

Hopefully Gearbox doesn’t try to push it into negative territory…

Midnitte,

“So what you’re saying is: You like what my friends and I do with our Borderlands video games even more than you like what some of the biggest and best cast and crew of film makers on the planet have done,” he wrote. “I’m super flattered! We’re working extra hard four you on what’s next….”

…what? Lmao.

Having the best crew doesn’t matter if you’re trying to race the Daytona 500 with a box car with a monkey that was only trained to turn right and to have an actress in her late 50s play a character in her early 20s.

Midnitte,

You’d think he would have discussed it when he was negotiating.

But, I can’t help but include this hilariousness. https://beehaw.org/pictrs/image/502f42e5-cc63-4ad2-a580-cad9c35d67f3.webp

Midnitte,

Sure, but promoting the explicit sexual exploitation of women doesn’t seem to be the answer.

Like, maybe not pushing for taking sexually explicit photos of un-consenting persons?

One of these categories was Erotica, which gave players PP for taking photos of women’s cleavage, underwear or any other revealing clothing.

If you dont want to buy the game without that, then you don’t want to buy the game, you want to buy Girls Gone Wild.

Midnitte,

So necrophilia is cool…? 🤢

Midnitte,

Please sell them on Steam. 😔

Midnitte,

That’s the original. Remake isn’t out yet.

Remedy has been taking a lot of money from Epic (they were the publisher for Alan Wake 2, hence why that isn’t on steam).

Not sure why a company so successful needs a publisher… :/

Midnitte,

Sounds like he really misunderstood the old “customer is always right” adage.

Midnitte,

I’m sure he’ll probably use a different mechanic for Haunted Chocolatier, probably too late to change it for Stardew Vallery, given it’s age and the existing complexity of the game.

Midnitte,

Good read, and I definitely recommend the game.

Also didn’t expect references to Superstorm Sandy or Christie.

For my money, the Christie administration’s Beachgate scandal remains the most ludicrously individualized version of this in microcosm

Especially when you consider he was the reason the state government shutdown, and then that asshole lied about being on the beach, and when caught said “hey if you want to go to the beach, you could run for governor”. You know how many families got fucked out of an enjoyable beach visit for July 4th?

Midnitte,

It’s now been eight months since SAG-AFTRA members voted in favour of a strike authorisation in the games industry… While SAG-AFTRA has not moved forward with its strike as of yet…

I wonder if there’s a limit to how long the authorization is valid for?

Midnitte,

So it never expires?

Ik really surprised they haven’t actually called a strike given how long it’s been.

Midnitte,

Valve also has no incentive - it’s basically a free money machine.

Midnitte,

I’ve never heard of it, did it serve as inspiration for Natural Selection?

Midnitte,

broader cost cutting

They’re just stripping everything down to save money, as every company that ever buys another company does.

This was entirely predictable (plus, they purchase IP, not people).

Midnitte,

Agreed, but it certainly seems to be.

Can somebody explain why game makers don't start their own companies together? angielski

It seems like every other week a game studio is massively laying off employees; sometimes after years of development. What I’m reading is that it’s a quick way to lower expenses and pad the investors’ pockets, flooding the market with developers and reducing their value, to then hire them back a few months later at lower...

Midnitte,

Probably because the owners want to take all of the profit and employees do not have the capital to make the investment.

It takes a certain benevolent capitalist to convert their business to employee owned (Bobs Red Mill intensifies). Such businesses only represent 12% of the private sector

Midnitte,

(Also as a side note, I find it wild how much Microsoft spent on Bethesda just to cut so many of those studios.)

It’s easy to understand when you realize that purchase wasn’t about talent, it was about IP.

Now sure, closing these studios and preventing the development of new exclusives is leading to Sony eating their lunch now, but longer/very short term it leads to them developing exclusives with their IP at a cheaper cost. It’s just all about cost cutting to make pretty line go up.

Midnitte,

I doubt it will since Epic is the publisher…

Midnitte,

Nice, hopefully they pick randomly for those of us at work coming home to the news. 😅

Midnitte,

spoiler…you mean the girl (at the beginning of the episode, shown to be an A+ in all “stats”) that took on a man post coitus and still was thrown around the room and only survived thanks to the blender?

Seemed pretty realistic, and Fallout to me.

Midnitte,

They also reference it during Cooper’s party and he mentions that they used his actual dog for the “in universe” version of the movie.

Midnitte,

The way they introduce it is great too, using the flashbacks.

Midnitte,

Besides the inkling of mod support, it will be interesting to see what they add/ change. The screenshots don’t seem all that revolutionary?

Midnitte,

Making its way implies it was somewhere already ;)

Developer Nightdive Studios’ acclaimed remake of cult-classic sci-fi horror System Shock is - following a successful release on PC last year

Midnitte,

While I don’t really care for FFVIII, that ending is amazing.

Truly a great article.

Midnitte,

It really sucks for the hard-working employees with so many layoffs happening in the industry, but I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise since they haven’t released a game yet.

Deviation Games was formed by ex-Treyarch and Call of Duty developers in 2020, led by Jason Blundell and Dave Anthony. Eighteen months later, however, Blundell departed Deviation. It then laid off around 90 employees back in May 2023, citing a “difficult situation” that “forced” the layoffs.

Midnitte,

If it runs the model as a service locally, it’s probably communicating to the game via a network port.

Similar to how some single player campaigns are still technically running a “server” for the game, despite being single player.

Midnitte,

Servin presents Exxon’s new human flesh-derived “Vivoleum” future fuel at a Keynote Luncheon at the GO-Expo 2007 (Oil and Gas Exposition) in Calgary, Alberta.

Ah geez, what a ride his Wikipedia page is.

Midnitte,

It’s amazing how scummy and gimmicky Nvidia is and the fact that they are, in fact, a real company with real products.

Midnitte,

I’m speaking to Nvidia’s tactics in general. See G-Sync

Midnitte,

Not to mention, it was a licensed game. Shouldn’t really expect an established brand to be licensed to 3 kids in a basement.
