You can file the paperwork to attempt to sue anyone for anything. It doesn’t mean it will be accepted by the court, or that the judge will not summon you there specifically to laugh in your face, declare your suit frivolous, throw you out, and refuse to validate your parking.
If Jabroni thinks he’s having it rough with Elden Ring, he ought to go back and try out the first couple of King’s Field games…
From reading his posts, he doesn’t think the game is too hard he thinks there’s an entire game hidden inside Elden Ring. He claims there’s an entire parallel universe for the lands between hidden in the game files and no one has found it because they purposely hid this final “50% of the game” and made it impossible to find.
Not sure and I don’t exactly understand that part. It has to do with the themes and messages behind Bloodborne and how that game is a metaphor for awakening true humanity or something along those lines. But that was just a cross franchise hint for the actual parallel universe in Elden Ring.
I mean if so then good! If he has any evidence he could fucking share about it then we can go on trying to solve the puzzle. It would be a bold and striking move that would put from software aseven more transcendent a developer
The “evidence” most likely came to him when he forgot to take his pills. From Software games have a huge following of people hunting for cut content, going through every item for its lore etc. They even got Armored Cores into the game, and tarnished into Armored Core. If there was anything, it would be known on release basically.
Yeah, Baldur’s Gate 3 for certain. Shadowheart, Astariaon and Wyll, left to right. The red icon mean Wyll has 70% chance to hit with that Eldritch Blast.
Wait until you find out that the list of people and groups that have NOT done terrible things to other people is so small that there might be only one group or person on it, if at all.
There’s a bit of a difference between doing some unethical stuff, and orchestrating multiple coup of democratic governments to be replaced with authoritarian dictatorships, or hiring an international death squad to assassinate troublesome workers who want to get paid, and of course let us not forget undermining our own democracy!
It is a game that is difficult, made by a company that is widely known for making some of the highest difficulty games in gaming. And arguably, Elden Ring is their easiest game. This guy signed up for it. If he didn’t know, its his fault.
There is no lawsuit here, this gets thrown out instantly. FromSoftware makes games and they can make whatever they want. If people don’t want their games, then they won’t buy them.
Imagine if they hit a level five party with an entire goddamned beholder
Probably after you accidentally found out that one of the cutscenes entering the underdark was you flailing about like a limp noodle because you jumped down the gap instead of taking the ladder.
I'm guessing it's nostalgia. The bananas in the original game had stickers on them, but the newer games didn't. There are a lot of people who love the old SMB games and are happy when anything is done to make the new ones like the old ones.
I don't get being so excited about it, but these games weren't a core part of my childhood. I played the party games in SMB 1 once and those were fun, but I don't think I ever actually played the main game.
The same reason I hope CalorieMate stays in MGS 3 Delta, it was in the original and became a part of the identity of the game. Not having it would feel weird.
Kinda like when something gets remade and is nearly completely different from the original. All the right names and pieces are there, but its off and doesn’t feel right. 2010 Nightmare on Elm Street stuff.

Don’t misunderstand me. I’ll hate on Reddit any day of the week but my complaints need to be educated.
Oh there are? Sorry about that then. I’ve been sleep deprived for over a month now due to things I don’t really want to talk about without being asked and don’t function properly due to that.
I’d say it’s absolutely insane that someone might actually be able to take the creators of Elden Ring to court over the fact they’re not good enough to beat a game intentionally made to be hard. I imagine they’re the same people who would try and sue Sintendo over a Mrio Mker level that they can’t beat first try.
I the US you can sue anyone for anything. You’ll lose for stuff like this post, but you can do it all you want. The fact anyone is reporting on this is the issue. It should be ignored.
The article is using as a source a 4chan post that had a docket number that didn’t check out. I’m pretty sure this is a joke someone took seriously because they needed to publish something today.
This would get almost immediately dismissed by any judge.
People can sue for whatever they want, but that doesn’t mean a court will entertain it. I’m sure whatever judge this is put in front of will dismiss it immediately.
As for the difficulty discussion. Not all games are made for all players, and that’s OK. If it’s too hard for you, play sometime else. Soulsborne games do not need difficulty settings, and I’m glad they don’t.
Well, it's not wrong to say that about the basic concept of copyright. The original purpose of copyright was to allow authors to feel free to publish stuff more widely without fear of it being "stolen." Without copyright there'd be a lot more proprietary information being squirrelled away in private archives.
But of course, that concept has been completely hijacked over the years. The duration no longer makes sense for that original purpose.
Yeah. Copyright should exist for like, 20 years or so? Or no more than 10 years after the holder's death so dependent family can adapt. This 90-100 years is bullshit. It doesn't benefit the creators, it benefits the rights holders. Almost always a corporation profiting off the back of their workers.
Agreed. The fundamental concept doesn’t seem bad. Usually it is harder to create than copy. So for someone to invest resources into creating something, we might want a system that allows him to recoup those costs before someone else who didn’t need to front load those costs undercuts him.
believe it or not, that wasn’t the original purpose of copyright. copyright was invented as a form of censorship. in 1556, the Charter of the Stationers’ Company was given the exclusive right to control the operation of printing presses in England, up to and including the ability to seize offending books and burn the printing presses that made them (L. Ray Patterson, )
