They also pulled a really cool hack on Jak and Dexter. They were able to hack into the PS1 chip hidden away in the PS2 for backwards compatibility to get some extra processing power!
Another interesting fact concerning the ps1 chip, Sony used it as an Io controller so backwards compatibility was essentially built in to the design of the ps2
PlayStation 2 software is distributed on CD-ROM and DVD-ROM. In addition, the console can play audio CDs and DVD movies, and is backwards compatible with original PlayStation games. This is accomplished through the inclusion of the original PlayStation’s CPU which also serves as the PS2’s I/O processor, clocked at 36.864 MHz in PS2 mode.
Really hope to see a jailbreak for it soon. The hardware is beautifully made and feels like a real PS5 controller. It’s just the software is awfully limiting.
China is by far the biggest gaming market, almost 50% of all steam accounts are Chinese. There’s more money to be made by appealing to Chinese tastes than any other market in the world. That’s my guess anyway. This game is Chinese though, so they could just be like, appealing to their own market through crossovers, if that’s what you mean when mentioning the other games.
Dunno, the story of sun wukong has been widely adapted over all of media in diverse ways. Dragon ball & songoku is the most known one maybe, but there’s tons of wukong adaptations in games, the trend is not recent at all. It’s a champion in League too. He exist in Dota2…
I’m not thrilled seeing so many “no-portal” surfaces in this trailer. Part of what made the original so fun was that you could solve the chambers in novel and unexpected ways, then two took some of that freedom away to have gels make sense. Now we’re at a mod that seems to enforce an incredibly linear path to how puzzles can be solved. Disappointing.
