Sunny,

Can also use tools such as Exodus to evalute the trackers/permissions(manifest file) that the application has baked in; reports.exodus-privacy.eu.org/en/reports/455252/

Sunny,

Didn’t think this was real at first read. But holy fudge it it is… Game is now being review bombed on steam. Here’s an additional article from Gaming on Linux:

gamingonlinux.com/…/helldivers-2-will-soon-actual…

Sunny,

thanks for sharing the chart! I doubt they Sony takes a hint from this too, but it certainly shows other developers and publishers something about signing contracts with Sony…

Sunny,

The current top Steam Review;

Yeah i’m not linking my account to PSN.

  • April 2011: Hackers Access Personal Data of 77 Million Sony PlayStation Network Users
  • May 2011: Personal Details on 25 Million Sony Online Entertainment Customers Stolen
  • June 2011: Sony Pictures Website Hacked, Exposing One Million Accounts
  • November 2014: Hackers Steal 100 Terabytes of Data from Sony Pictures
  • August 2017: Hacker Group Accesses Sony Social Media Accounts
  • September 2023: Sony Investigates Alleged Hack
  • October 2023: Sony Notifies Employees of Data Breach
Sunny,

By clearly stated, they mean, in small letters further down on the steam page that nobody reads. Just like a cheeky terms of services…

Sunny,

You’re completely missing the point.

Sunny,

Love this! 🙌 Just started listening to the Audiobooks.

Sunny, (edited )

Read the comments here and you’ll quickly see why it’s a problem. There are multiple reasons.

  1. Sony will use this for tracking and advertising.
  2. Having a Sony account has proven to be not safe, many times…

  • October 2023: Sony Notifies Employees of Data Breach 3. They only included that this was needed in some places, and even there in small print. Which we all now is on purpose and is disgusting corporate behaviour. 4. People who have bought the game and can’t make a PSN account have now lost access to the game they probably paid full price for. 5. I addition to those, imagine this new trend where each publisher is requires you to make an account withim their systems and having to link them whenever you want to play their game… That could mean you would now need an account for:

EA, Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Square Enix, Capcom, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft Studios, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Sega, Konami, THQ Nordic, 2K Games, Paradox Interactive, Focus Home Interactive, Devolver Digital… Etc…

And that’s only a small portion of the number of publishers… It’s a trend that benefits the publishers only as they get to track users on a new level. Honestly boils my blood the amount of corporate greed were seeing in the gaming industry.

Sunny,

Afraid you’re gonna have to dig deep into their privacy policies for that, including all third party vendors they partner with, which I’m assuming is more than just a few. The world of policies is intricate by design…

Sunny,
Sunny,

While true, I’m always afraid of it not being a troll and a genuine new user… would be a pretty bad experience for a new person to be called a troll, even though them having a controversial opinion.

Sunny,

This is the one narrated by the one and only Stephen Fry <3

Sunny,

thanks for sharing!

Sunny,

Could you link to what you’re referring to?

Sunny,

thanks :)

Sunny,

It was and still is I believe the current most wishlisted game on steam, last i checked.

Sunny,

Can’t wait to grab this game! Been waiting since it was first revealed <3

Sunny,

The article

No rest for No Rest For The Wicked’s developers, it seems. The punishing action-RPG launched in Steam Early Access last week with performance issues, among other issues, and Moon Studios have now deployed their first hotfix.

Performance improvements are “coming soon”, they say, while this update focuses on improvements to balance and several of the game’s core systems. Among them, the update reduces durability damage taken to gear, reduces repair costs, increases the drop rate on Repair Powders, and reduces stamina costs and fall damage. Here’s the full list of changes:

<span style="color:#323232;">Balance Changes:
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Reduced Durability Damage Taken
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Reduced Repair Costs
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Increased Drop Rate on Repair Powders
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Reduced Stamina Costs
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Reduced Fall Damage Curve
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Reduced cost of Horseshoe Crab and food that includes Horseshoe Crab
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Balance update for the Cerim Crucible boss
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Changed Corpse-Smeared Blade starting from Tier 2 to Tier 1
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;">Loot Changes:
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Introduced more Weapons into Fillmore’s Pre-Sacrament Loot Table
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Reduced Drop Rate of Fallen Embers
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;">Stability:
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Fixed crash that could occur when quitting out to the main menu
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;">Bug Fixes:
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Improved inventory navigation
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Fixed jump at Potion Seller Cave so you can’t miss the jump when executed correctly
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Blocked off an out of bounds area of Nameless Pass
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Removed lingering dev tools
</span>

When I poked through user reviews on Steam earlier in the week, durability and repair costs were two of core complaints I saw. To my surprise, if I’m honest. No Rest For The Wicked seems clearly to be courting dodge-roll melee fetishists, who I assumed to be video game masochosts, and yet they seemed to be pounding dirt and crying uncle. Or maybe it just really was bonkers unfair.

Earlier this week, Moon outlined a list of known issues, with solutions to some, if you’re experiencing a proble the above patch doesn’t fix. Remappable controls are coming soon, too.

Sunny,

What is Creation Club, to those of us not familiar with the franchise?

Sunny,

Oh, I’m hoping this means paid, as in the modders get paid and not Bethesda…

Edit: I was wrong…

Sunny,

God dammit…

Sunny,

Wow I’m so excited for this!!!
