God I miss Unreal Tournament, why can’t we have multiplayer games like this again? Just a silly fun multiplayer shooter with lots of options on how to play and no greedy shit on top.
Multiplayer games with some form of progression are much more popular. Games like you describe still exist, they are just less popular relative to others.
I played that beta. I played that Early Access. UT4 was fun and I was stoked for it. I was shit at it, but I was having a blast when I played it. Now it’s dead. All Hail Fortnight!

well we do it is called xonotic and it has the best rocket launcher in any game hands down, it comes out of the quake lineage tho
I honestly thought of Mario first but yeah, Tetris, Mario, pacman and maybe space invaders would be instantly recognisable to everyone. If I was to show my non gamer dad a picture of Niko, CJ or Trevor/Michael/Franklin then he would have no idea who they were. Where as the other games he absolutely would recognise the characters or the names.
Something about the narration just sounds a little… off, like it’s a bit robotic and slowed down. Is this just this channel’s style, or is it some chatbot-generated text-to-speech thing?
I skipped to a random sentence six minutes in and got a heady double-tone single-syllable word. Could be indicative of voice compression/altering software (lotsa podcasts use a filter to make their voice sound more… podcasty?)
lol fortunately for me my wife got me the Ally but I exchanged it for the Legion Go. It is quite a premium device. A used Steam Deck can be found for pretty cheap. And Best Buy open box can be found for under $500
Yeah it can only get so good before Windows starts to show its ugly face. Steam Deck works so well because it runs games within it's own compositor with absolutely no bloat or distractions.
Yeah I’ve played some games on GamePass on my Deck via MS Edge and xcloud. It works pretty well for anything where input lag isn’t a factor, like turn-based games.
I tried Rocket League and Forza just for shits and giggles, and while it’s not unplayable, it’s also not responsive enough to be enjoyable
The logo bothers me with the number behind GTA, most other games it was GTA with the name over or next to the words. The only thing I am upset about is that it's coming in 2025, I was hoping for the back half of 2024. Of course, this is also GTA, I think the first trailer for GTA V was in 2010 and the game finally launched for the first time in 2013. So we may not be playing this until 2026.
Items are usually at the center of each "puzzle" but it's mostly trial and error. Blocks covering the item can't be broken and become marked if you try - it's pretty simplistic on that front.
There are different types of blocks surrounding the item that require different approach (some need multiple prods, others have to be tackled from a specific side) but, at least in its current form, it's not a complicated system. I hope they'll add some challenge later on but that depends on what kind of experience they're aiming for.
I'd say give it a shot if you're curious - they have a demo on their Steam page.
