Got to love the fact that Hatoful Boyfriend and Fall Guys are made by the same developer. I’m assuming those do not have similar market share. /s

It’s genuinely one of the best remakes in existence and emulation is not even close in this case because THPS1+2 backports loads of quality of life features from later entries.

smallaubergine,

Is the music the same?

About half is from original entries, the other half is contemporary stuff that respects the theme and is very good on its own. It’s not the only area where remake gracefully draws from originals and modern skating, for example you get all the old skaters as well as modern pros.

Guess I’ll continue to not buy playstation consoles then. Bought multiple playstations every generation up until the PS4 - PS, PSOne, PS2, PS2 slim, PS3, PS3 slim, PSP, PS Vita all bought on launch day, but after the PS3s slow change to cinematic 3rd person linear story driven games I gave up on them.

I thought that earlier response was decent, at the very least it stopped them from sinking any further. This just pushes them further down. They could have just stopped talking about it, but a lousy pathetic excuse like that? There’s no hope for them.

An unexpectedly candid response as far as these things go… though I guess that’s just how Phil Spencer usually is. I appreciate the deliberate choice to avoid double-speak even though he’s basically blanket declining to discuss the topic.

Centillionaire, do nintendo w Nintendo of America on Twitter: Tune in on Sept. 14 at 7 a.m. PT for a Nintendo Direct livestream featuring roughly 40 minutes of information focused on Nintendo Switch games releasing this winter.

Give me Switch 2, please.

Grangle1,

Probably not gonna happen this time, but I predict an announcement early next year for release within the year.

Centillionaire,

I’m guessing January announcement and releases in April. Makes me wonder what games will be day one release? Metroid, a 3D Super Mario, but surely not a Zelda game. Unless it’s a remake of a game.

Grangle1,

I think instead of a new 3D Mario right away we’ll get a port of Wonder, especially if it’s not backwards compatible. If that’s the case, that BotW demo they supposedly showed off at Gamescom may be a hint at a BotW port, though why they would port BotW instead of TotK at this point would be beyond me, especially when BotW was a launch title for their previous console. A different Zelda remake may be a good bet, like an HD/4K version of one of the N64 Zeldas. I still think the new F-Zero may be saved as a launch title for the new console to show off the new hardware. Either way, they need a solid, brand new entry in one of their big franchises or something new and original (a “killer app”) to promote immediate adoption, especially if they’re apparently releasing so many good games to sunset their previous console. They can’t make the same mistakes in the launch lineup that they did with consoles like the GameCube and Wii U.

rbits,

No way they don’t have a new 3d mario for a launch title. It’s been 6 years since Odyssey. And they definitely need something like that for the launch. They obviously won’t have a new Zelda so Mario is pretty much the only thing they could do. Also maybe Metroid Prime 4, but Metroid hasn’t really been a system seller. Also maybe a bit too soon for a new Animal Crossing.

Brodude,

For sure they don’t want to ruin xmas sales. It would be very dumb to announce a new hardware before the end of the year.

FullFridge, do games w Final Fantasy XVI producer announces PC version is in development, along with 2 paid DLCs

Wonder what the dlc will be about?

I have a few ideas but don’t want to put spoilers here.

If this is a continuation of the main story then I don’t mind but if this is just content placed in the middle of the story like FF 15 then I don’t know why I keep buying games on launch just to get a partially complete experience.

Let’s hope the difficulty of this dlc is also higher. I felt like in the main game Clive melted any non boss enemies after the halfway point of the game

  • TheChancePants,

FF16 is one of the few FF games that isn’t open world. Actually one of the most on-rails linear games I’ve ever played. I almost find it mind-numbingly straightforward.

It’s more open than 13, and while you can move about some largish areas at will, the game’s quests push you to certain locations. You don’t do a lot of self exploration, and there aren’t a ton of icons on the map to clear out.

    It’s a story first game.

    Different strokes for different folks.

FF15 was big and open (for a while), but to me that was super boring.

    HellAwaits,

I could give it a try in the future, but open world games always end up disappointing me.

Don’t know what you heard, but FFXV isn’t open world. Maybe try it for yourself and don’t rely on the word of idiots that obviously have never played the game?

Yayay! The game has run smoothly, mostly. But every few hours my GF and I restart our LAN to fix some stuttering. Also had some FPS issues with super large battles, but the game is SO DANG GUD that we don't even consider those speedbumps. Easily the best triple A in a long while.
