Article didn’t really have any purpose to it.

What? Seems like porn generation is the new crypto mining.

DudeDudenson,

I’d rather have a wealth of new porn around rather than thousands random Blockchains going around.

At least the porn will probably be useful for someone long term haha

Eh I agree with the reasonable takes here. Nothing wrong with generating that sort of stuff until it starts resembling the likeliness of a real living person. Then I think it’s just creepy; especially if for some reason you are sharing it 💀

This is such a bad time for me to be trying to get back into the game industry fml

JohnBrownNote,

might be better off trying to make the next indie darling.

Losing their jobs through no fault of their own, mind you. Disgusting behaviour by Take-Two just to line their shareholders pockets.

Actually "rationalising the pipeline" would be getting rid of all the massively overpaid execs, rather than the people who actually make the Take-Two execs their money

BruceTwarzen,

Absolutely sickening. Yeah, we can't afford you people actually doing the money making and Jeremy's new yacht. It was a tough decision, i swear

Not defending corporations but these massive conglomerates usually get so intricate, so messy, that there are people who end up getting a paycheck that genuinely do not get assignments. In other words, getting paid to watch paint dry. So sometimes the comments that look terrible are directed at people who were doing nothing or very nearly nothing and still getting paid for it.

But yes also fuck executives getting x80 the pay of developers.

People always say this, but the execs and board members making obscene money for doing as little a possible is the whole point of the endeavor.

Only reason they’re launching on consoles first is probably because Sony paid for it.

All the damn money they make off GTAO and they still can’t afford to keep employees on…? If it was anyone, it’d be them I’d guess last to do something like this considering they effectively found a money printer off idiots who are cool paying for cosmetic bullshit in an 11 year old game.

BReel,

Oh. They can afford to keep them.

kandoh,

They only made $1.45 billion last year, just up 56% year-over-year.

They were expecting to make over two billion. Which from the perspective of an American corporation, means they lost half a billion dollars. So the end of year bonuses for the c suites are only half as much as they were anticipating, which from the perspective of American executives is like they lost hundreds of thousands of dollars this year.

So you see, it makes perfect sense why hundreds to thousands of employees must be laid off. The business is in a dire position!

I thought it was a great way to roast the game by implying it makes you shit yourself.

Yay capitalism. The pursuit of infinite quarterly profit will fuck and enshitify everything we’ve ever known.

As a person that didn’t really enjoy the borderlands games, I had no idea this was happening and this is easily the oddest thing if read all week. Before I read the article I was confused but interested. Now I’m informed, confused, and interested. But hey, I’m glad they were able to do this with a game. I’m an average science enjoyer so I’m always glad to see good news.

Postmortal_Pop,

As a bug fan of borderlands, I honestly wish they made a mobile spin off for the minigame that they’re using for this. I love playing the game they made for it, I love that it’s doing actual stuff, I just have a limited amount of time to sit down and play games at my pc and when I boot borderlands I wanna play borderlands.
