Neato, do games w "The Day Before" makers Fntastic are shutting down.
@Neato@kbin.social avatar

To be fair, it seems like they've made 5 games and 4/5 weren't very good. Not surprised this was their last hurrah. I know Steam scores generally don't equate directly to sales, let alone profits, but it seems like the company was struggling.

supercriticalcheese, do gaming w People really hold their mouse like that?!

TIL that I have no idea how I hold my mouse, it’s just happens. I suspect I switch style based on what I do.

Willy, do gaming w People really hold their mouse like that?!

How do palm gripper move the mouse down? They use their whole arm? I’ve been told I keep my sensitivity high, as I can cross my entire screen top to bottom and left to right without lifting my hand off the desk. Anything else seems much more tiring.

RogueBanana,

Pretty much yes but moving your arm by a little isn’t really that hard and can be done without lifting your elbow. I don’t find it tiring even after a full day of usage but maybe I am just used to it.

Willy,

I’ve never had a setup where my elbow was on the desk. Maybe that’s part of the difference? All very interesting

You move your mouse without moving your arm? Like do you just use your wrist or something?

Willy,

Just using my fingers. I use a mouse with enough space between my palm and the back of the mouse.

I recently bought Cyberpunk 2077, and finished it.

My reaction was: wow, what a sick game!

darthelmet, do games w The Weekly 'What are you playing?' Discussion

I’ve been playing the Cyberpunk DLC and just finished that last night. Aside from some annoying bugs that was pretty fun.

I’m nearing the end of my first BG 3 playthrough that I’ve been streaming with a friend. We decided to go Dark Urge and it’s made this kind of a weird first playthrough. It’s been fun but I think in hindsight it would have been better to have a more normal first run then go back for this. Also, found a kind of funny bug (?) in the vampire boss fight. The boss has some property that says he can’t be moved by physical or magical means. But when I threw that legendary spear that has a knock back AoE, it sent him off the cliff and that was the fight aside from mopping up the ads.

Aside from that I’m always playing TFT occasionally. I climbed higher than I ever did before: 200 LP masters before I hit another funk and started backsliding.

leidkultur,

My first playthrough right now is also Dark Urge. I thought it would be especially hard as a good character (Paladin/Bard) but at the beginning of Act 2 I have to say: apart from an early Camp event there was nothing problematic Dark Urge related until now. Mostly murderous thoughts I could ignore without any dice rolls and a few more Camp events that only added some flavour.

darthelmet,

I figured it just made sense to lean into it once I realized what it was. I didn’t go FULL murder hobo, but I ended up doing enough to trigger a bunch of special quest stuff unique to the Dark Urge. I still think this was probably better as a 2nd play through, but I was pretty satisfied with all the content the game had to fill the gaps caused by me… suddenly cutting off some quest lines.

Started playing Need for Speed Heat. Not really sure why but I am having fun with it.

JoeKrogan,
@JoeKrogan@lemmy.world avatar

Fun is what its about 🙌😊

Lombaxter_Stockman,

Heat was amazing compared to Payback and 2015. I wish they would stick to that formula going forward.

RDR2 on Steam Deck. I never got far when I originally played it on my PC a few years ago and have been itching to play it again for the last few weeks.

Started a new game and so far it’s running really good.

Work and IRL stuff does not leave me with a lot of hours to game, but I did manage to put in a good few hours.

ironcrotch,

Reminds me so much of my situation. I have two kids and having a steam deck has changed everything for me, I went from not having time and/or brain space to game to being able to pick up my deck here and there and play when and where I want and not need to be at my desk or the couch.

I’m going through CP77 and plan to pick up RDR2 next sale.

Psythik, do games w Starfield has some beautiful landscapes!

Beautiful landscapes, boring gameplay.

Goronmon, do games w FTC fails to redact Microsoft document, revealing an old Bethesda release schedule

Are you sure it was the FTC and not Microsoft that posted the materials incorrectly?

x4740N,

Why do we keep linking that shitty elon musk website, we’ve had news about how horrible a person he is yet people keep linking twitter and giving him traffic

Vampire Survivors

Sir_Simon_Spamalot, do games w Sabotage Studio initially projected sales of 250,000 copies of Sea of Stars in the first year. They hit that target within just a week.

This game is so hyped. How good is it really?

Dremor,
@Dremor@lemmy.world avatar

2 hours in. It is quite good. I have no regrets buying it.

Clipboards,
@Clipboards@lemmy.world avatar

1hr and some change in. I’m loving it so far

rolaulten,

Honestly? It’s enjoyable. Some of its predictable, some of the dialogue is brilliant, and sometimes the combat is a slog (or just not balanced well - especially early on when you don’t have a lot of options). I do wish it had branching dialogue options but that’s just me. Oh and the art is top notch.

Penta,

22 hours in. Still really fun. Don’t expect anything groundbreaking in terms of story though.

Skyler,
@Skyler@kbin.social avatar

I just finished it yesterday. Verdict? Super fun, gameplay is great, looks beautiful, has a retro vibe. The story... is okay.

curiousaur,

It would have been a lot better with 3d graphics and cutscenes, and a full voice acted cast of NPCs. That’s basically the baseline now.

AgentGrimstone,

8 hours in, it’s pretty good. I think it’s one of those games that just came out at the right time.

BigVault, do games w What are YOU planning?
@BigVault@kbin.social avatar

Waiting till October 14th like the European peasant I am, just like I did in 1999.

johnlobo, do games w Noooooo you can't make a microtransactions free game and finished too 😭😭😭

this “dev” are really dumb.

deweydecibel, do gaming w Madden should not be 70$

Counterpoint:

You, and everyone else, should be making enough money right now that a $70 price tag isn’t a problem.

Wage stagnation makes price increases seem worse than than they should be. Truth is we should all be making enough that a few bucks increase in the price of Netflix or YouTube shouldn’t be something we struggle with.

So by all means, pile it on at EA, but save some of it for your employer too

Haui,
@Haui@discuss.tchncs.de avatar

I get your point. It’s absolutely crazy that people don’t srike en masse for better conditions but then you got people thinking fuck you I got mine.

But I also think that while this is true: EA still is pretty much the worst and needs to be disbanded for controlling large parts of the market and extortionist marketing techniques.

Albbi, do games w Day 11 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots
