About 50 hours into Starfield, wrapping up the pirate and corpo questlines, enjoying it quite a bit, but there are issues that I'd love to mod out eventually.

Finally played the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy, probably almost halfway through the first one. A pretty good Uncharted-like experience with a bit more of a serious
tone, but I have to say, it's pretty good!

Counterstrike 2 is going to be released on Wednesday. Cs2 will be the new benchmark in skill based fps games and you can get from day one.

I’m in the beta so I’ve already been enjoying the premier matchmaking system and the glorious new smoke grenades.

Metro Last Light, Lies of P and RDR2. Mid, fast and slow paced games lol.

For me, it’s been Last Epoch which is an ARPG. It’s been doing a fantastic job of scratching the itch that Diablo 4 just failed to do.

I finally made it past the campaign and am in the endgame (as far as I understand), and I’ve had a good time trying to come up and play with various builds on my Runemaster character!

Also, American Truck Simulator for when I just want to turn my brain off and relax.

Ser_Salty, do gaming w RPG Maker on the Unity debacle

Remember RPG Maker 2003, when you could just open any game made with it in the editor and change shit, give yourself god items etc.? That was dope.

Spaceinv8er,

No, I don’t, because I remember trying to make attempts at making my own game.

Hence being called RPG Maker.

In 2003 when I was like 17 there wasn’t like a fuckin library of games made in RPG Maker, and if there was, it was only known to the super nerds. Knowing what RPG Maker was in 2003 made you a nerd. If you knew of a library of games for RPG Maker, made you like king of nerds.

I’m envious of your nerdom if you had that access.

caseyweederman,

Uh
RPG Maker games were always really easy to pick out because they all used the same assets.

UsernameIsTooLon,

Hey bro, not even trying to hate but I think you should get out more

theragu40,

What are you on about

Spaceinv8er,

Honestly, I don’t even know myself. Was very much drunk when I wrote this last night. I’ll keep it up though for a reminder to not get too drunk and write things like this.

theragu40,

Lol. I respect that. You keep on keepin’ on.

Spaceinv8er,

I appreciate you.

kattenluik,

I recommend doing better drugs than one that destroys you.

Spaceinv8er,

I recommend getting off your high horse.

SnipingNinja,

Their horse which is high on drugs which doesn’t destroy it’s body

‍It’s a joke, I don’t really agree with them

nathris,

New idea for Lemmy apps: drunk text mode. Between 10pm and 6am you have to answer a skill testing question before submitting.

suenoromis,

Why not roll constitution check?

CaptKoala,

By this logic, I would get to post exactly zero times, ever.

Cyberpunk baby!!! Spent 100 hours before the update, time to spent 100+ more again with the new content!!

I’ve put a few hours into Payday 3 so far, a shame it’s servers got the hug of death. It has one of the most developed stealth systems I’ve seen in any game. Core mechanics wise it’s definitely a worthy sequel to Payday 2.

ShittyRedditWasBetter, do games w The Weekly 'What are you playing?' Discussion - 18-09-2023

Just quit bg3 because it was too buggy. I literally can’t beat the final boss so fuck larian hard in that regard. They are getting a real free pass on bugs due to pent up DND demand.

Onto starfield which is probably going to be a mess too 😑

Legendsofanus, do games w Sabotage Studio initially projected sales of 250,000 copies of Sea of Stars in the first year. They hit that target within just a week.

This is beautiful!!!

Is the game good?

mint_tamas,

If you like the genre, it is very good. I’d go as far as saying it’s really special. For me, it’s very comforting and just plain good vibes. Fantastic pixelart and tasteful, sensible improvements on the format.

Legendsofanus,
@Legendsofanus@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

Yes I would really love an old style game with QoL improvements that the modern era had bought for us like better controls, auto-saves, skip dialogue, etc.

Boldizzle,
@Boldizzle@lemmy.world avatar

It’s shockingly become one of my favourite RPGs and that’s saying a lot. The story is quite original with a few really good twists but the characters are also all excellent.

Soundtrack is most excellent.

Legendsofanus,
@Legendsofanus@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

High praise! I’ll be looking forward to trying this out then

DeriHunter,

I really liked the first 10 hours, but then it became really repetitive. I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. Maybe it’s just me though

Legendsofanus,

Maybe the charm got old. You could play it in-between big games

RE1 HD remake (had played only about half of the GC one)

Such a wonderful game. For someone like me who grew up with the original, probably the best remake ever made. It’s the same, but so much better.

Oh, and Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth 2. Possibly still the best RTS ever made. Change my mind.

sparr, do games w This should be illegal

My proposal is for a mandated label on software and hardware to indicate that it will stop working when some online service goes offline.

Darkenfolk,

And then what? Corporations will just slap a disclaimer on their products informing you of said condition and that you need to agree, understand and accept these terms and conditions and call it a day.

UFO64,

Aye, but forcing them to put a clear “We support this until this date” label will make that a mandated part of their marketed.

That or, you know, force companies to release server software when they sunset support for their product. That would also be nice.

Which is why we need meaningful consumer protections around this. Something with teeth to force publishers to back these sorts of things.

  • UFO64,

I feel like lack of ownership of more and more things in our lives is a sign of problems. Sure, this is just a silly game. But this kind of shit is already hitting cars.

    sparr,

And then products without that label would gain at least a little a bit of market share. Most people still buy inefficient fridges because they are shinier, but at least a few read those yellow labels mandated by law and choose the more efficient ones.

    Flax_vert,

Ironically Nintendo sort of did that on physical boxes for their consoles that was actually just a download key in a cartridge

Well… engine is free, as in freedom. What happens with could not happen with Godot. You could even contributeurs to make it better. But, it s not the best engine… It s not as convenient, etc. Then you make your choice and can t complain (same as vs chrome)

    Yes.

is there any chance for redemption?

    No.

Anyone that trusts unity after this will get exactly what they deserve next time greed make unity put thier privates in a vice to squeeze out more profit with unreasonable terms then half backpeddle to less insane but still obviously unpopular changes.
