I am sure marketing folk have a reason for it but… this really feels like the kind of thing you put alongside the PS5 Pro announcement that the entire planet watched. Rather than leaving everyone wondering “so… why would I buy a ps5 pro?”
I bet they’ll focus hard on the PS5 Pro this showcase to try and win back some people. Excited to see new game announcements though. I wonder if Naughty Dog will have anything new or if they’re still in last of us hell.
It missed several boats and came out with a sticker price when most of the other games in the same market are free to play
It also released 2 weeks ago, so I can see why they’d be disappointed! It’s apparently a decently fun game and getting support pulled so quickly would be sad
With the amount of marketing it received, I think people would still stick to Valorent or Overwatch 2. I only see videos and posts about Concord being a flop, than promoting it.
I predict some grumbling from the JRPG crowd that just wanted hi-fi visuals in turn-based combat without the reactive combat elements they are discussing here. I have to imagine they’ll make the system flexible enough to appeal to everyone, though. “Turn-based with a little extra” is the new hotness right now, so it’s what will be marketed leading up to the release.
Hoping to see another trailer soon, last one was great!
I still wonder if they will eventually go the other way around, too, and let me use my Quest with the PS5 for things like RE4 VR. Doing the remote play method is jank af.
