dreamfall, do gaming w PlayStation Plus prices increasing

Woof...those a big increases. I'm glad I dropped it last year when I realized the only MP games I played were F2P games that don't need the subscription for online.

No cloud service is strange. Makes this seem like an entirely outdated project.

ReallyActuallyFrankenstein, do gaming w PlayStation 5 Pro Blog Post

Just for fun: this would have worked so much better if they price dropped the PS5 and introduced the PS5 Pro at the old price.

People are anchored into thinking the PS5 is a certain value, and if they did that, it would instantly make the PS5 Pro and the PS5 appear to be a bargain, and so much of the PS5-owning public would have bought another system because it would be “such a good deal,” while PS5 fence-sitters would jump at the core system. I’m not trained to say for sure, but I think while their profit margin would be lower they’d be making much more money.

Dariusmiles2123, do games w Tune in tomorrow for a PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation hosted by Mark Cerny

I really don’t see the point, but I’m not against it as long as it doesn’t lower anything we’d be getting on normal ps5.

At least for the ps4 and ps4 Pro, I didn’t feel like the ps4 pro created a problem for regular ps4 games.

All I really know about this game is the ridiculously stylized animations in its cutscenes and fight moves, which has definitely made me want to try it out.

What in the hell equivalent on modern system requirements would a 1660 Super be? The thing is still getting me good performance in most things, even new things, but the requirement lists have all moved on to RTX models for nVidia’s side of things. I can guess from this I might still get 60fps at 1080p on Medium settings; but maybe not if that all depends on DLSS being employed which my card doesn’t have.

slimerancher, do games w Playstation: Introducing Community Game Help, a new enhancement for Game Help powered by user-generated content
@slimerancher@lemmy.world avatar

That looks like an interesting idea. Game Help doesn’t gets much usage, and this can change that.

Spuddlesv2,

If good quality game help doesn’t get used much why on earth would low quality game help jammed full of “funny” advice and memes be better?

slimerancher,
@slimerancher@lemmy.world avatar

I think the issue is there wasn’t as much help available.

Also, according to the post, your mic or anything won’t be recorded, just the raw game footage, though it will have any notifications that may popup, like chat message or trophy. Not to mention, the video will be reviewed by moderators before being added to Game Help.

givesomefucks, do games w PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for February: Need for Speed Unbound, The Outer Worlds, Tales of Arise, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and more

NFS is pretty good.

Multiplayer sucks, but the single player is good. You can erase your save data to start a new one, it’s weird there’s no “new game” option to make it simpler tho.

I got it cheap on sale and have run thru the solo missions 2-4 times.

It’s pretty shallow, so there’s not much to do after the missions.

Fridgeratr, do games w PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for February: Need for Speed Unbound, The Outer Worlds, Tales of Arise, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and more

I actually had a really good time with Unbound, single and multiplayer. Just… mute the soundtrack and play your own music

Am I mistaken or are there loads of games this month for PS+ Essential, where usually there are 3?

phillaholic,

These are Extra games. Essential has 3 this month: The Callisto Protocol, Farming Simulator 22, Weird West

Damn, I’ve been bamboozled again (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ I keep confusing Extra and Essential, why couldn’t they have come up with a better name?

phillaholic,

I was thinking they’d use:

Bronze: just the account Silver: “Essential” 3 free games a month Gold: “Extra” game library Platinum: “Premium” game streaming and classics

UwixTheWizard,
@UwixTheWizard@beehaw.org avatar

That would have been a lot easier to be able to distinguish them from each other. Plus, it lines up with the trophy types and keeps in line with the Playstation console theme
