I played an unhealthy amount of Baldur’s Gate 3 and finished my run. Sadly, Ansur, the last boss before I went onto the finale, ended the Honor Mode part. I’m a bit salty about it, since it wasn’t the boss being too hard or something, but mainly bugs, that did me in.
My first try I got him to half HP, then the game just didn’t want to use any actions anymore. I couldn’t even save and quit, but had to go through Task Manager to kill it. Next try I get him to like 80hp, fresh turn with all of my characters, but the game just crashes. Third time, he’s at 80 or so again, but because of terrible animations I didn’t see that he was supposed to be flying in the air, charging his giga attack. Because of some debuff, he was just writhing on the floor, so I just couldn’t really tell. I had a dozen Globe of Invulnerability scrolls, so I could have survived easily.
Anyway, I’ll do another run next month, after Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and maybe the new Diablo 4 season, but dunno about that last one.
I mean while its deplorable I dont think either company has anything about hate actions outside the game. And if they wernt willing to ban him for account sharing (which I am sure they could show he was gaining XP while also being live on TV) then this wont move the needle. Also to be fair I wouldnt want to be in any forward facing position if they did, the brown shirts would internet come for you.
I have been playing fortnite. And I’m kinda digging it. I completely despise their monetization, but I’ve been enjoying the gameplay loop. It’s a solid Battle Royale game. I find the pacing is pretty good in terms of how long you wait to engage other players.
I also like that they update it semi frequently. Usually, I don’t* like when games do that. But the core fundamentals stay the same while the extras (like the map and weapon/tools) change.
I didn’t think I would ever enjoy it.
I’ve also been playing Persona 3 Reload, and sniper elite 5. Both of those are pretty solid too. Sniper elite 5 felt weird at first because the game felt extra punishing until you unlock more options for stealth. I might have been playing it wrong.
Persona 3 reload is fun, but I feel like the two styles of gameplay don’t exactly mesh perfectly? They just don’t feel like they’re as robust as I want them to be (but the game has a decent amount of depth so idk how they would do that without overwhelming the player). I realize the game is a remake of an older title, though, so I’m assuming it’ll just get better as the series progressed.
Don't know if it qualifies, but some time ago I saw a VTuber play "Suck Up!": you play as a vampire and you have to actually talk to try and convince NPCs to let you in so you can suck their blood. The "thinking" isn't done on your PC though, you push-to-talk your line and the answer is elaborated by their servers.
Pentiment, an awesome point-and-click whodunnit with meaningful choices and beautiful medieval graphics. You only have limited time so you can't do everything and follow every lead.
Return to Moria, a generic survival/crafting game that was recently free on Epic. I had low expectations of this one, but it is surprisingly solid. But it really sucks that there is no dedicated server support.
I played Return to Moria for a while on my partner’s (more powerful) PC, since my laptop isn’t exactly in fighting shape. I thought it was fun and very good at getting me in the vibe of the game. I particularly liked navigating the confusing warren of the Mines. I did fall off a bit when I did a lot of prep-work for the Orctown and found out it was kind of tiny.
If I had the PC and time, I’m sure it’d be very fun to play with friends.
Yeah, I'm playing with a friend. I think we're nearing the end. My gaming laptop struggles as well, but turning down the setting and upping frame generation helped a bit

The dweller ended up being a really easy boss to deal with. We're deep into the Dwarrowdelf now. I just found the last piece of Durin's axe so I assume we're near the end. I didn't look anything up because I didn't want to spoil ourselves. We're in tier IV armor and weapons. It looks great, except for the helms. They have one big horn and one little horn. I hate horns on helmets and I don't like asymmetry either 😄
Yeah, asymmetrical horns are not my jam in helms. 😆 I’m glad you’re having fun with it, I really enjoyed the parts I played. I’m just really scared of water monsters- can’t play subnatica, can’t deal with terrors of the deep.
I tried to make a comment about this in a different thread. Only you can control how you wanna spend your energy every day. Stop giving it to being angry at them all day. Unless there is something you can do to take actual action its just ruining your day with no real change taking place.

They shouldn’t hold any credibility in the first place, I’m just some faceless username. I already saw the video, that’s what my opinion is based on. I say his hand’s angle and movement are quite different from a heil, but if you want to disagree, that’s fine as well.
Tekken 8 is slowly consuming me whole… and I don’t mind. I love the game so far! When I’m not playing, I’m looking up combos, pro replays, various advanced tutorials… I’m fully committed at this point, haha.
That being said, my library has let me know that a copy of Sonic X Shadow Generations is available for borrowing, so I’ll switch it up a bit this week!
Do I think it’ll happen? Yes, even if it’s not good, because AAA companies are cheap and have no taste. They thrive on just spewing out more content than a smaller studio could make, quality be damned.
That said, whether or not it COULD be useful in the future I think depends on the context and how well you could tune the models.
I think it has absolutely no place in a narrative game where intentional authorship is what people come for. Even if it’s passable, I want to know that what I’m hearing or reading was something SOMEONE wanted to say.
But I think it could be interesting in more open ended, replayable sim games where you want to be able to try a wide variety of approaches and have different experiences each time, but it would be impractical for a dev to implement all those possibilities to the point where players would feel like the game adequately responds to their actions. However, I don’t think you could just drop a copy of chat gpt in there and call it a day. You want different NPCs to be different and you want some consistent reality that they all exist in and respond to. So you’d probably need to put in some constraints based on some hidden file describing a particular world gen’s state. A basic example would be the NPC knowing that the town you asked about is to their north or perhaps an existing relationship between 2 characters.
Idk how technically feasible this would be, but it’d be a cool tool in the right context if done right. I think the key here is it can be good when it enhances what you want to do and you put in the effort to make it work vs just using it as a lazy shortcut.
I’ve downloaded some old PS2 era games. Some of the gameplay is quite dated, but I really enjoy the retro feel of the environments and graphics. Perfect photorealism isn’t always necessary to enjoy a game. I’ve been playing Burnout and Ghost in the Shell SAC.
Burnout, what a game! I know 3 still is regarded as one of the best arcade racers to this day, although tbh - controversial opinion, I know - Paradise is likely my favourite in the series.
It’s honestly not amazing. It’s a third person shooter across multiple different levels of built up environments, offices, corridors. The enemy AI is pretty terrible, and although there are different tactics you can use to “hack” and take over enemies or melee, it’s usually just easier to shoot.
But the parkour style navigation stood out. You can do wall jumping, which I was not expecting, and there are hidden pickups you can explore and find. And the open environments are nice (the corridors can feel a bit samey after a few levels).
It feels like one of those tie-ins that, had the dev team had more time to explore, balance, and really make it into its own game, might have been really good.
It has the complexity of a MOBA (but genius level UX that completely addresses how that would normally be daunting, through a fantastic community item build system), movement approaching the intensity of Titanfall and a match format that finally fills the hole in my heart that was left by Battleborn, and is maybe even better.
It has a a unique 80s magic/fantasy aesthetic, and what we know of the lore so far is fantastic. (I laughed out loud when walking by a radio in-game and a newscaster voice went “Have love potions ruined dating?! These 20-somethings tell all!”)
My advice, hit up !deadlock, get an invite, and just give it a try. The way it’s looking, it might turn out my favorite game of all time.
Oh thanks, this does look pretty killer. I haven’t gotten into a MOBA in a while but something fresh and different could tempt me. I’ll add this to my queue!
