I asked my brother this who’s a huge fina fantasy fan and he says it’s the best story wise since 10. 13 is just boring, 15 is so convoluted and bloated. 12 is pretty good but the retread in Ivaice always felt like a cop out. 16 is the most consice FF story wise in years.
I really want to like AC 3 but I just can’t. I’m a big history nerd and it kinda upsets me that I don’t like the game.
I’ve bought Origins and Odyssey. I’ve started Origins a couple of times and haven’t started Odyssey. I keep getting distracted by new games. My entire library is like that. Started and unfinished or waiting to start.
You can have reenactment of actual historical events with your character inserted as the hero, or you can have a vivid open world, but not both. AC 3 goes for the former and has the vibe of being embarrassed of being a lowly entertainment product and aspiring to be one of the worthy but dry educational “games” you’d get to play on the school computers.
As someone from Britain, I never got the educational vibe. I mostly got "is this a reference to something?" as various characters showed up. My knowledge of American history starts in the 1920s, mostly.
Yeah I tried getting it running on my Steam Deck and when the launcher kept telling me it couldn’t find Fallout 4 I just uninstalled them both. Not worth the storage space and hassle.
Gameplay: watered-dowm DMC + watered-down FFXIV. You’ll be spamming a base combo and using “rotations” as they pop. It can be a little more.complicated than that but even normal raid tiers in FFXIV require more thought than any fight in FFXVI
Story: couldn’t tell ya, gameplay was so shit I sincerely regretted buying the game physically, as I was too lazy to return to the store to return it in time
Disclaimer: I haven’t played it yet, but I have talked to people who have liked it and who have hated it.
The games is very good, but it’s not a typical Final Fantasy game. They have removed, or reduced the RPG elements, and made it a very good action game with good narrative. So, if you go in expecting an RPG like previous Final Fantasy games you won’t like it. If you just go in expecting a good action / adventure game with some RPG elements, you’ll probably end up liking it
I think this is where most of the divisive opinions come from. It’s a great game, but it’s really not a final fantasy RPG, so many people aren’t getting what they expected. Personally, I found it to be a enjoyable surprise.
Acer are middle of the pack with hp at the bottom, dell and Lenovo are probably the best. Golden rule, never ever ever buy anything made by hp, problems after problems especially their printers.
I prefer Lenovo to be honest but dell are good as well.
I had an old T60p - yeah, Core 2 Duo baybeeeee. Iirc that was one of the last models that were made under IBM before Lenovo bought the Thinkpad brand. Since then, my primary personal laptop has ALWAYS been a thinkpad, simply because the keyboard IS that good. Seriously, I really do not think that any other laptop line offers a better keyboard, or is so consistently at the top of the pack.
Note: I’m talking specifically about Thinkpads, and particularly the X and T lines. Non-thinkpads are much more of a roll of the dice.
Also re: Dell if you don’t like the look of RGB gamer laptops, they put the same hardware in their XPS line which is more designed around MacBook looks (aluminum, minimal).
Your ability to be scared has more to do with your ability to be immersed in the game. Some people need outlast and some people only need minecraft. But also if you play amnesia as it was intended it is very scary. You can also run around a table repeatedly and get a good look at tge monster if you are not in the “horror mood” nothing is scary.
I feel like the themes of slavery were so poorly handled that it shouldn’t have even been a plot point. The game would’ve been the same without them or with them; as they didn’t handle it with much nuance and doubtfully had the writing chops to do so. While the Boss Battles with summons are spectacles, they can get really dull the more you fight bosses. I would say it’s a mix of infantile oppressive fantasy to occasional brilliant scenes that made me question why this game was overall so-so. Those strong moments of writing never stuck around long enough to make a greater impact; it made me feel like two people were responsible for the writing of this game, and the worse writer won more often.
I wouldn’t say it’s the worst Final Fantasy as the FF 13 trilogy still exists, however, FF16 is a middling entry in the series.
As someone who adores the thirteen trilogy so much that I play through all three games several times a year and model my wardrobe and aesthetic off of it, I can respect there would be people that absolutely hate the game, but it hurts a bit inside.
Hmm…I just think the direction they took with Lightning and the other characters wasn’t ideal and the moment to moment gameplay was not the best; I said nothing about outright hate for the game. Furthermore, I only feel disdain for real things that could actually cause harm to the world.
Oxygen Not Included. it’s just a constant stream of entropy-driven-crisis mitigation.
my current issue is that part of an oil field deep underground briefly became too hot and since then my base has been slowly filling with toxic sour gas. the only way to get rid of it is to turn it into methane and sulfur by cooling it to -160 degrees but i don’t produce enough hydrogen to run the thermal nullifier.
i’m like 1400 cycles in on this run :P got eight dupes and just passed a million stored calories, have infinite air, water and copper, so i feel like i should be able to do something about it
