warm,

Being in either beta gives you access to this. It's right there on the webpage.

warm, (edited )

It works pretty well, but kind of barebones at the moment, a lack of advanced audio and video settings lets it down.
The timeline feature is great though, being able to easily watch back your gameplay in real-time as it records.

They need support for multiple audio tracks, other codecs, resolution options, framerate options, different bitrate options.
Also recording to memory absolutely needs to be an option so I'm not wearing down my disk by constantly writing to it.

warm,

For an initial release yeah, but no real reason for them settings to not exist (in an advanced section if they are too scary for people), people are making their voice heard in the right channels though, so we just gotta hope Valve implement them.

warm,

Weird, your client probably didn't update, I am in families beta and it was there.

Your favorite video game doesn't need a remake | Digital Trends (www.digitaltrends.com) angielski

Curious about y’alls opinions on this. I like the idea of getting new people to experience an older game by aligning it to modern graphics and accessibility standards. But capitalizing on nostalgia with quick updates to that make it look modern rather than making new games seems like just more of studios trying to squeeze...

warm,

I am fine with remasters, but most end up as remakes and are insults to the originals.

warm,

Halo 2 Anniversary should have kept the old sounds. A lot of the art was done in the shitty Halo 4 style too instead of the original Halo style. Blur absolutely smashed the cutscenes though.

warm,

The game still plays like it came out 10 years ago and it was outdated then even. I don't know where all that development time went.

warm,

Yeah.. I watched a dev stream and they didn't even know what they were doing with a planned stream, coincides with how they handle the game I guess.

warm,

Woo proprietary bs!

Basically, we could give you these features, but we still want to sell you a console.

warm,

Still haven't updated to the new update. You just have to swap an app manifest file, takes 5 seconds.

I'm not sure why people with modded setups updated, I guess they had yet to learn that lesson.

warm,

The one before the 'next gen' update.

warm,

The world is great to explore. Lots of hidden goofs to uncover, but yeah, you play New Vegas for story.

warm,

The game should be offline co-op anyway (and P2P). So many co-op games just made 'always online' for the sake of MTX.

warm,

I present to you: Helldivers 1.

Its just an arbitrary mechanic added to justify an always online requirement. Helldivers had an offline option. There's still a game there without the need for "community involvement", the missions etc could be completely random or seeded for people who dont want to connect to a server.

Its always sad to see potential great games ruined by greed.

warm,

You are right, it does provide something. I just personally don't value it over a more typical online co-op setup. I just wish options weren't scary and implemented more.

warm,

That says more about the core gameplay than the community feature.

warm,

Sony being scumbags? Who saw that coming? They definitely don't have that reputation...

warm,

After being away from consoles for a long time now, they really have little appeal beyond their easy setup and cheaper hardware. The exclusives on any console are not worth buying a whole new console to play. There's so much more value in PC gaming, the intial barrier of entry and possible technical problems just put people off.

I really think Steam Machines could make a major comeback now, the deck has proved the software side, SteamOS is much more mature.

warm, (edited )

While it's pretty average as far as action drama shows go, it's very easy watching! Was pleasantly surprised. I think it fails to establish a lot of things, so non-fallout fans might be a little confused sometimes. I think they could have gone a bit slower and properly introduced the wasteland, its people and its factions. Hopefully they increase the prop budget too, there's not a lot of weight to things and you see them actually bend the foam power armor in one shot.

warm,

Yeah the characters motives just randomly change to fit the plot and there's never any logic behind their decisions.

warm,

Aha yeah, there's no place for random rewards either, same shit in Baldur's Gate 3.

warm,

Guess I have to stop drinking juice!

warm,

MS still turned over $40 billion in profit last year. They just need to turn over more apparently this year. Fucking capitalism.

warm,

You dont think Gabe has surrounded himself with like-minded people?

He will pass it off to someone else and Valve will carry on as it has.

warm,

If true, why? They had the formula for the game they wanted in BC2, BF3 and BF4. They should have spent time studying what people liked about them games not asking streamers what they think. Oh and let me tell you, removing the class system was not the correct play, but it's a fucked up microtransaction world now, so it was never going to succeed.

warm,

Any reviews released in the first week of a game should be taken with a grain of salt and any reviews released on or before launch day should be completely discarded.

With all the 'day one' patches games have, reviewers should be playing the game from launch, on the same version as everyone else. If they have any integrity.

warm,

MTX have become normalized and it's fucking depressing to see. So many people defend their existence, truly a sad time for the industry.

warm,

Your attitude towards it is why they exist in the game in the first place. There should be no micro-transactions.

The game is a $70 singleplayer experience. It should have no online requirement, no microtransactions.

warm,

To be fair Lethal Company and Plate Up are fantastic games made by single devs and priced very fairly. It's not really the indie scene that's the problem, that's the holy grail right now. It's these big releases and "triple A" games that are all disgusting cash grabs driven by marketing and how many twitch streamers they can pay to play their game for the "hype".

warm,

Yeah fair enough, that's definitely true. People tend to have a 'main game' that they hop off to play the new thing, burn out and then go back to their main.

warm,

Yup, I wait for user reviews cause the "journalists" all have some bias or sellout.

warm,

I dont buy these games, nor do I verbally defend such practices in them. I understand your point, but the real issue is them existing, not the form in which they exist in this case.

The whole "first world problem" is always hilarious when brought up. You can discuss or argue over anything you want, everyone experiences life differently. Just because there's people starving, that doesnt mean you cant talk about capitalist issues either. Its such a shitty dismissal everytime.

warm,

Yet here you are doing the same thing. Pot calling the kettle black.

warm, (edited )

You are complaining about people complaining, talking down on people to get a feeling of superiority. If you dont like a conversation just move on with your life. Or is it that you have nothing better to do, so you choose to bitch about something inconsequential on the internet?

Upvoting your own comments too :)

I wont engage any further with this, its just gonna go in circles. Have a good one.

warm,

"Former Battlefield director" meaning, worked on the upcoming Battlefield narrative. Had nothing to do with Battlefield before the franchise's death.

His real accolade was being the fucking Halo Creative Director at Bungie. Who writes these titles?

warm,

They make it sound like he was a big deal with the BF franchise at EA, but he really wasn't.

Jagex co-founder and ex-employee (Andrew Gower) announces new MMORPG inspired by RuneScape (store.steampowered.com)

I mean, when I saw an ex-Jagex employee making a new MMO I thought it was going to be slightly inspired by RuneScape… But this game looks exactly like RuneScape, and the description of the gameplay also matches it perfectly - this is essentially RuneScape 3 but managed by someone else (and with a much newer engine)

warm,

Looks more restrictive even, why can I only see 20 tiles at a time? MMORPG is a hard genre to break into and I don't think just slapping his name on this one is going to attract much of a crowd when they are already busy with OSRS.

warm,

I am well aware, but it doesnt change my opinion. Looks more suited to be an RPG than an MMO.

Looks like they are trying to attract the mobile audience, but they are too late for that aswell.

warm,

Needs some form of regulation. The new generations are so indoctrinated into skins and battle passes that they talk about how much they should cost instead of if they should even exist in the first place.
No education will change things, they have grown up with these cancerous monetisation methods, countries just need to ban it, like they were starting to do with lootboxes.
