I think we should be careful touting linux as more preformant in games than windows because when people switch they wi find that isnt always the case. There are two situations where linux beats windows. CPU intensive games and on systems where the CPU is really bad and sometimes really bad dx12 games.

In every other case the preformance comes down to the gpu drivers which are undeniably better and more tuned on windows.

But this is not bad. I think its still very convincing to be able to say you can get away from windows and switch to linux barely losing any preformance and even in some cases gain it.

Beyond all reason is great for this. Its 8v8 competitive multiplayer and anyone can pause and say hold up gotta check om my kid or whatever and everyone just waits and when they get back theres a countdown and its unpaused.

Ive never seen another game be that chill. Usually it turns into a shit.flinging fest.

A lot of the value is in the IP or existing assets/engine/codebase.

If you are starting a new IP then fuck it you may as well go with an alternative structure over a giant corp.

For moba: dots, overwatch 2, League of legends, deadlock

For RTS, Aoe2, aoe4, starcraft, Warcraft 3, beyond all reason

Some fun events could be osrs pking tournament, classic shooters like halo, quake, unreal, kart racing games fighting games like tekken, street fighter, guilty gear, mortal kombat

Team games are harder than 1v1 because getting all the teams together is like herding cats and following the action of all players is challenging. Probably best to do it all on PC and rent 12 PC’s for the day. People can bring their own controllers and play that way if they choose.

Borderlands really didnt deserve another chance after the shit games theyve released but it seems people fell for.the marketing and gave it one anyway. It had the worst gunplay ive felt in a long time and the atmosphere of the game was destroyed by all the rainbow coloured glow effects and animations. That game was so full of really weird design choices.

I tried playing games like Tony hawk pro skater or racing games, but every time I’d turn I’d lose my balance and almost fall off the treadmill. So anything i could play had to be slow placed or not have a 3d camera.

What would you federate? Would you federate posts of each mod with a link back to the home instance. Would you federate the entire modfile.

I’m not sure activity pub is the right fit here. We would lose so many mods and it would make it much harder to find mods.

Reading that reddit comment section was depressing. Seeing people making excuses and saying just dont buy them. Redditors are way above the general player base in terms of awareness. Became they can actually have long form structured discussion about the state of the game. Even then the response is still “this sucks and its kind of greedy”.

Seeing the things people put up with is blackpilling. It actually spreads over the whole industry. I wish I hated technology and gaming so I wouldn’t care watching it be farmed by corporations.

Yeah this would be completely illegal in a lot of countries.

You need to either make the position redundant and then you cant hire anyone for 9months or you show 3 separates instances where they failed to meet the job requirements and were notified. You can’t just fire people for the fuck of it.

For cities skyline. The first game was pretty shit all things considered. The game had so many dlcs and mods were what added a lot of the good functionality.

Cs2 was way more ambitious with the simulation aspect and utilising new dev tools. Once we get more mods and more dlcs cities 2 will be looked at as an amazing city builder.

Yeah I know cs2 sim sucks, believe me I’m one of the biggest cs2 haters there is. On release the cs2 sim was the same as cs1, all smoke and mirrors. Except cs1 didnt promise to be calculating all these things.

Cs2 has been pretty bug free for me up until economy 2.0 added a few simulation bugs.

My wishlist is for them to remake all the vanilla assets, they look terrible. Add bikes and e scooters. Then add an industries DLC.

City looks good. Time to devlop the water front area. A nice quay with a bike path and park then medium density buildings is what I like. I dont like putting builds right up next to the water.

The suburbs are good you could run a 4-6 lane road in the middle of them and have the traffic flow onto that.

My friend was unable to update to windows 11 due to the TPM requirements and looking to switch to linux. I upgraded my CPU and said they should buy my old one. They finally said OK and asked if I could help them install it before they switched to Linux. I installed the CPU and they never switched to Linux because now they have a CPU that meets the TPM requirements.

Windows users really hate change. Microsoft will force them to update and the users will whine but 1 week later they will be used to it then they will stick on windows 11 till EoL.

Its pretty smooth but I’ve had a lot of desync issues because I have a long list of mods I try to play with.

They do PvP on the mod. Its pretty cool you have 4 teams and each player controls 1 pawn and the fight for objectives and capture and craft their way to victory.
