I’m just a weird, furry, pan guy (cis he/him). I also have a big, blue username.

I’m learning Japanese so sometimes I might write something out in romaji just to practice. Please correct it if it’s wrong!

They’re capable of supporting mouse and keyboard. For some reason most games just don’t. Like on my PS5, anything that uses a mouse style menu, I can use a mouse to operate. I can also use a keyboard to type in input boxes with anything. But the only game I can fully play with a M&KB I’ve tried so far is Call of Duty. Which is nuts because Stellaris, Civilization and City Skylines are on this system, too, and they would very much benefit from full M&KB support.

Shadows of Doubt, maybe? It’s a first person immersive sim mystery game with procedurally generated worlds and mysteries. There are crimes you must solve and the victims, perpetrators, suspects, and evidence are all randomized. Would you count that as a puzzle game, though?

It’s pretty damn good, IMO, regardless.

Forget HL3; where’s HL2: Episode 3? I wanna know what the fuck happened to that garden gnome I carried all the way from the beginning to the rocket at the end.

Lombardi is still second in command, right? If Gabe died tomorrow, who would control Valve?

Kolanaki,

I love this new narrative that undercutting the competition’s pricing is anti-competitive and not just winning at the competition because the other teams don’t want to improve.

Leaving the mask on the entire time is the only way it works. If everyone is taking it off to talk, they’re gonna be spreading shit around every time they talk. What state is this court in? Texas?

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Not talking about the game prices on the store, which are already set by the developers.

Destiny, Deep Rock Galactic and Overwatch are complex?

I play Dwarf Fortress. And I got into it before the Steam version gave it a functional UI. Maybe I’m just spoiled. I’ve been gaming since I was 3 or 4, so like 90% of what most games require is already ingrained in me. That last 10% is the stuff unique to a particular game; and recently I’m finding these unique things to be the only things not taught in a tutorial. And that is pretty annoying that they will teach the basic controls, which even a non gamer could figure out in mere seconds, but not a mechanic unique to that specific game that no other game has done before.

Come check out the best RPG of the modern age, and compare it to the worst pile of shit since E.T. for Atari.

What game genre would you like to see more entrants in? angielski

This was something I started wondering about when I was reading a thread about Star Citizen, and about how space combat flight games were much less-common than they had been at one point, how fans of the genre were hungry for new entrants....

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Cartoon logic point and click adventure games like Sam & Max or Monkey Island. There are still a lot of adventure games similar to that style being made, but they’re all fairly realistic in the puzzles. I want the stupid, non-sense logic used in cartoons to make the puzzles harder but also funnier.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

20 hours until I can play again?! C’mon…

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Literally all of these things have existed this way my entire life, but the article is making it seem like this is all brand new shit. They’re not trying. They’ve succeeded years ago.

GTA 6’s Publisher Says Video Games Should Theoretically Be Priced At Dollars Per Hour (www.forbes.com) angielski

While Take-Two is riding high on their announcement that a GTA 6 trailer is coming, its CEO has some…interesting ideas on how much video games could cost, part of a contingent of executives that believe games are underpriced, given their cost, length or some combination of the two.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Then that would mean all those games that only had 40 hour campaigns that sold for $60 were $20 too expensive.

Kolanaki,

I emulate a lot on my phone so I have something to do when waiting around while out of the house. Even emulating Windows and DOS to play old PC games that work great with touch controls.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

What apps do you use to emulate Windows and DOS on Android?

Wine and Magic DOSBox.

And what games? I guess any point and click game could work fine.

SimCity 2000 and Masters of Orion get the most play for me.

Kolanaki,

I love multiplayer games and I am usually quite good at them; but this recent shit I’ve been seeing a lot of where a good chunk of gamers believe that if you suck at the game you shouldn’t even be allowed to play the game is fucking insane.

It’s poor sportsmanship from the winning end. And I’m tired of poor sports. The players who lack sportsmanship are the only players that ruin multiplayer gaming.

Games that require you to unlock the basic functions of the game can suck my nuts. angielski

I have recently played 3 games that have forced a lengthy, unskippable tutorial section that runs for several hours of the game, just to unlock the most basic functions like buying the items, customizing features, multiplayer, and even 2-player split screen modes....

Sekiro is the only game that I know of that gives you, the player, the ability to experience what it’s like to grow a second health bar after being defeated.

Capcom exec is mad that someone replaced the 9 foot tall dracula woman with Thomas the Tank Engine.

That was their reputation before Skyrim. Skyrim’s many re-releases is how that particular game tarnished their rep.

Are you sure it’s not pyramid head? 🤔

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Other than Telltale’s games, when has an “episodic” game not been this way?

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

I, for one, would be totally cool having a single account to do everything online as long as it had really good security. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Kolanaki,

I’ve just been dying for a scrap of news for Shadow of the Erdtree. They just announced it, with a name, and then have been silent since.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

I bought that (and still have it) when I got Oblivion, expecting to need it like I did for Morrowind. Definitely did not need it.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

I’d demand they honor the 75% off sticker on the assumption that they removed the original shrink wrap to place it on the cover.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Does it, or will it later, have online multiplayer?

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

I don’t struggle to enjoy the games I already enjoy. I struggle to enjoy the new garbage the industry keeps churning out in more recent years.

Arma 3, Team Fortress 2, and Rocket League (according to Steam)

In reality, UO, EQ and Diablo 2 probably have more time than all three of those combined. They just were never on Steam.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

So the best way to play would be using Voice Attack and making every FPS into one of these bad boys? 🤔

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Why would Uniracers be banned? 🤔

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Huh… I must have gotten my copy before that happened. And lol at the reason. Who the hell held the copyright to the 'cycles personalities? From what I remember, they were all the same anyway, just different colored.

Edit: Oh shit, it was Pixar. And reading the case, and the evidence, it was a bullshit suit and the judge was an idiot. 🤦‍♂️

Real pilots rely more on the instruments than the window

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

This is a good game. I need to finish it but God damn the difficulty spikes hard at certain points. It was basically not even challenging until I got to like the 3rd or 4th boss and then it became harder than Dark Souls. The references and humor are off the chain, though. They not only have analogues to popular SCPs, they reference their own games like Alan Wake and Max Payne in both story and game mechanics and it’s awesome.

Also: I feel bad for the dude who had to keep his eyes on that fridge. So close to being rescued…

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

It’s mostly the non-humanoid bosses that take a few tries just to understand their attack patterns. The humanoid dudes got spongey, but I haven’t died to them yet. There’s also the RNG upgrade bits that can make it easier or harder. I got lucky and have basically infinite ammo and I gain back health as I deal damage with those. It just doesn’t help when you die because the Eldritch horror you have to look up at to make sure you’re not slapped is also breaking the floor below you and you fall through into the void. lol

Totally just a skill issue on my part.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

The way they reference Max Payne is the same. Perhaps all Remedy games are in the same universe.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

It was more advanced than Doom, but not quite Quake levels of 3D. You had verticality and rooms over rooms (or at least it was faked really well), but the enemies and such were still sprites. The level design actually does hold up pretty nicely, considering it wasn’t just random mazes, but more based on the “reality” of the setting. Tho I don’t think it holds up as well as JK2, personally.

Space sim Squadron 42 is "feature-complete" and gunning for Starfield's lunch with massive new video (www.rockpapershotgun.com) angielski

Squadron 42 is the single player campaign of Star Citizen, that is supposed to launch as a separate game. It's basically a small portion of Star Citizen, but with a story and ending. I'm still not confident; waited too long for that.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Has there even been video or screenshots of BG&E2 to prove it has even been in development at all? I thought it was simply a joke or a rumor since I haven’t seen anything even being shown off.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Starfield was just making me want a better space game so I reinstalled Elite and am getting back into it. I had bought Horizons and Odyssey as they came out, but I haven’t really sat down and played since about a year after Power Play released. The game is so so vastly different now, it’s like an entirely new one.

I’m doing exobiology for some capital and then I wanna go do stuff with thargoids. I wanna befriend an alien.

Many F2P games are worth their price of $0.

Warframe. Rocket League. TF2. Counter-Strike.

The games often become unworthy of the price the moment you spend anything on them tho.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

I paid for all but Warframe 🥹

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike: Source, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive all had to be paid for. Only the original mod (1.5 and under) and Global Offensive/CS2 have been available freely (and in GO’s case, it came later just like TF2 and RL).

I was livid about 1.6 going retail back in the day. I had been playing the same game for free, as a mod, for at least 2 years prior to that.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

That sounds fun to me considering I liked the original Zoo Tycoon and nothing modern scratches that itch.

Was it at least done well, though? I’ve never really looked through the DLCs. I figured most of them were just visual content additions like new styled buildings and what not.

In Ultima Online I was part of a really big guild on Napa Valley. We had pretty much all the land north east of the Britannia swamp. We were one of the first, if not the first, guild to defeat the Harrower.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Afaik, yeah. I haven’t played on the official servers for years though. If I ever have a hankering to play it, I find emulated shards that duplicate the experience as it was in 1997.

Edit: I just had to look and see; not only is it still up and running, they recently had some kind of event on the 18th.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

It’s then that I notice the one calling out the other dude only has 1 and eliminate him.
