I'm really liking the "new comments" feature, would it be possible to make it visible from profile overview as well as on the main feed? No big deal if not 👍
Screen is from main feed, but I had just seen it happen in my overview page (my profile), hence my edit to my earlier comment, but it happened on a post I made, and isn't on others, so that might have already existed?
Not sure if this is a known bug, but any time I'm signed in and try to enter the "all content" view (on any page) i get the "We are working on resolving the issues" error.
If I sign out of kbin it works fine, so it seems related to the fact that I'm signed in as me.
Sorry for reporting bugs here - I realize it's a bit lazy and not ideal!
I feel stupid, is this currently available? It seems yes, some people say they've made one, but I can't seem to find either a "Categories" or "Collections" option. Sorry, I don't know which area is called the "user panel", but I've looked at the tabs across the top, and in all the menus (+, channels, profile).
I did see the collections tab on the Magazines page though, and I see Random Collections in the right side panel, just can't find where to create my own category/collection.
Go to settings and click the collections tab. Tbh, it feels a bit hidden rn, and I'd love to see at least some sort of link on the Magazines page in the future.
Thanks but I looked in Settings. There aren't what I would call "tabs" there, but there are different sections (General, Sub channel, Threads, etc) but nothing called Collections.
WAIT, never mind, I found it in the other "settings" I forgot there are two different places for Settings. Thank you
@ernest nice! One of the biggest problems I found with KBin/Lemmy was the duplication of very similar communities across them. This goes a long way to fixing that!
I really like this #feature but currently it seems really difficult to activate it. Could you maybe turn this * button to a switch to indicate when it's on or off and to make sure it doesn't turn off when switching pages?
Ahh, okay I see what you mean now. Interesting. It actually makes page loads slightly slower on my old-ass Chromebook (but that's on me; this machine is a few years out of support for updates).
I wonder if this is better or worse for server performance, though.
This may be more noticeable on weaker internet connections. There is also browser-side caching, so it may not work perfectly everywhere. Currently, this is an experimental version. For the server, it's marginally better, but there are no significant differences, is more about the user experience.
Jokes aside, will this deployment process perhaps open up the possibility for beta testers? I think you've mentioned before that you have an experimental fork that you use for testing. I'd love to help out in that process.
Hey, I'll let you know when the test environments are fully ready. Currently, I'm using it more for reading logs of communication between instances. But I want to do it more thoroughly soon. Thanks!
