RTR#46 Some tests on kbin.social (kbin.social) angielski

The weekend tasks are taking longer for me, I found another bug that causes a 500 error, I'm still working on it.. This evening and tomorrow, I will be testing the changes on the kbin.social. If there are any issues, please mention me in the post or contact me directly through the contact form.

ContentConsumer9999,

Which contact form? Does Kbin have an admin contact page?

ContentConsumer9999,

the link to the comment in the notification

What is this exactly?

ContentConsumer9999,

Oh! I think I've had that happen once. Glad it's getting fixed.

RTR#32 Further refactoring, debugging voting errors (kbin.social) angielski

Today, I continue with code refactoring, getting closer to finishing the most tedious part. I've also improved tools to prevent spam on the instance, which will take effect in a few days, addressing the issue of overloading other instances that have been reported. After today's wave of spam, I've also started working on...

ContentConsumer9999,

I've encountered an error a few times during upvoting, and it seems to occur when attempting to block users as well. I've made initial attempts to address the issue

Great! This is likely the most on Kbin right now so I'm glad it's getting fixed.

RTR#29 Another boring update: Categories and bug fixes (kbin.social) angielski

Today, I wanted to introduce you to Categories - a new feature that is essentially a multi-mags view. A new tab will appear in the user panel where you can create categories (public or private) and then add magazines to them (local or remote). In the magazine listing, there will be another tab that will list public categories...

ContentConsumer9999, (edited )

Another banger update! I can't tell you how convenient it is to have that media preview bug fixed. It was starting to get annoying to randomly have words missing. Are you planning to create an official Kbin category?
Edit: Seems like it's already been made. Here's a link for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

ContentConsumer9999,

Will collections get a way to tag them like magazines?

RTR#28 New Homepage Options, Improved Aggregate View, Support Us Box (kbin.social) angielski

Today, I added new user customization options for the homepage, including the ability to set a new view. The Aggregate view is now featured in the main navigation under "All content," making it easier to navigate. Thanks for all the tips and feedback - great job ;)...

ContentConsumer9999,

Awesome work as always! The new all content page is much more convenient and I don’t think I've ever seen someone be this considerate while advertising (if you could even call it that). One thing I've noticed is that the support us part of the sidebar is somehow in French for me. I don't have any language settings set to French and this is the first time I've encountered such an .

ContentConsumer9999,

Yup, seems to be fixed! Thanks for the quick response.

RTR#27 Aggregate view, work on federation (kbin.social) angielski

Today, a test version of the aggregate view has been introduced on the instance. It's a mix of threadiverse and microblog formats, applying all filters, blacklists, sub filters, languages etc. After selecting *, the links to sub, mod, fav change, and navigation works within the aggregate view....

ContentConsumer9999,

I really like this but currently it seems really difficult to activate it. Could you maybe turn this * button to a switch to indicate when it's on or off and to make sure it doesn't turn off when switching pages?

ContentConsumer9999,

To add to this, can you let us make our the aggregate view?

RTR#25 Further performance improvements (user page, tag page), marking new comments (kbin.social) angielski

Today, I worked on the user and tag pages to make them operate a bit faster and consume fewer hardware resources. Additionally, I implemented the first iteration of marking new comments in visited threads and posts. This is a test change and will be improved over the next few days. It's progressing a bit faster than I initially...

/kbin user settings panel
ContentConsumer9999,

It makes it so that you don't load a new page each time you click on something.

RTR#24 Setting up test environments for federation development, comment wrapping (kbin.social) angielski

Today, I began testing a new instance deployment process, which is an absolute must-have before the release. I also initiated preparations for new test environments that I will be using for developing the federation. The first iteration of comment wrapping has been introduced on the instance as well.

Comments wrapping on /kbin platform
ContentConsumer9999,

Omigosh, I'm famous!

Jokes aside, will this deployment process perhaps open up the possibility for beta testers? I think you've mentioned before that you have an experimental fork that you use for testing. I'd love to help out in that process.

ContentConsumer9999,

Great to hear!

RTR#23 Wrapping comments, hiding threads/posts, marking new comments in threads/posts, aggregate view (kbin.social) angielski

Today, I managed to implement the points I described in RTR#19, and most of the changes are already visible. The remaining ones will be pushed on Monday. Before the release, I'll try to address three more things from the title, which I started working on earlier and are lingering on local branches. I don't want to make any...

ContentConsumer9999,

RTR#19

This disappears when I try to turn on its preview.

RTR#22 Further improvements interspersed with code refactoring (kbin.social) angielski

Today, I fixed some visual shortcomings. It is now possible to change images during post editing. The rules of the magazine have been included in the description on Fediverse to avoid misunderstandings with Lemmy users. Some changes are already on the instance, and the rest will be pushed by morning....

ContentConsumer9999,

What is "Mercure" and "dynamic feed"?

ContentConsumer9999,

Would that also help with boosts leading to 404 pages?

ContentConsumer9999,

I use a Chrome extension that's been discontinued so probably not.
