I thought him including video of a trump rally was too blunt, the audio was enough. I enjoyed the implication he was making about the game’s difference between the US and south american superweapons, which isn’t openly stated and doesn’t have to be.
I love the 1980’s cassette-futurism aesthetic they got going on, and the very impressive fluid dynamics/light processing tech. Considering this game has been in the works for 12+ years, I bet it’ll be an exceptional horror game!
Nikki is a shockingly competent hoyo-like (so Breath of the Wild but MUCH clunkier) hiding a gacha game about making an insane number of pulls to build an outfit while you play dress-up. Also, the overall metaplot among the franchise is Evangelion levels of batshit insane. But, at its core, it is still a ridiculously predatory gacha game.
There is a ridiculous amount you can do without spending a single cent and if you have strong self control it is worth looking into but… if you have strong self control and no addictive personality/genetic traits a bump of coke every so often is fun? And there are MUCH better games out there to spend your time on.
And it looks like the Stardew side is just letting IN call itself “cozy”?
But yeah. At this point I think most people can probably find a farm/town sim that is a better match to their specific interests than Stardew, but Stardew Valley is still basically “Harvest Moon but actually good” and pretty much revitalized the entire genre singlehandedly. It is very much the jack of all trades in that it does everything really well but doesn’t excel at any one thing. Also the background plot is shockingly dark but most people will never pay enough attention to realize that.
Oh, and many of the romanceable NPCs are very much coded as underage so nobody tell Chris Hansen. Again, it is one of those things you only pick up on if you actually listen to their dialogue and think through what kinds of jobs they had before being swept off their feet by the new farmer in town.
I might’ve tried out Nikki if it’d been okay with some amount of “sexy” outfits - like, I know not to expect any bikini-model type of garb, but there’s still a midpoint that could feel appealing but also classy.
Either way - still a gacha game with a pretty incomprehensible story.
as someone who finally did that and am still playing through it, it’s great! i’m having a blast. sorry to the OGs since i won’t have the long wait you guys did, but im looking forward to it
Kinda excited for this, I actually loved the Friday the 13th game. The way voice chat worked made for some great immersion and role playing. And I love the Halloween series.
Valor Mortis is a first-person action soulslike from the creators of Ghostrunner. Rise from death as a former soldier of Napoleon’s army. Wield supernatural powers, battle horrifying monsters, and unravel a conspiracy that threatens all of humanity.
Looks weird. It’s nice to see all this creativity in the soulslike space these days.
This post made me buy and play the game through. I did my first playthrough in about 4 hours and… Wow … My brain is going to be contemplating the story for a while. Incredible. Just incredible.
Started playing just before last season and it was pretty fun. BUT they recently sold to Krafton. So good chance this is the last good season for the game/devs.
Personally I think they’re still playing catchup from their launch commitments, but what’s been added so far has been pretty good. Season 2 expanded out the endgame content and crafting loop by a lot. This season looks a bit tamer in the grand scheme of things. A relatively smaller endgame content system with some new loot. Some class reworks. A new chapter in a still unfinished campaign.
Tech-wise I haven’t really had problems with it after the first few days of s2’s launch, but new patches always come with new bugs, so I’d expect some instability at s3 launch.
Also like others said, they got bought out so………………. Yeah… we’ll see what happens with that.
