technomad,

Sounds like you’re (mostly) talking about ‘collectathons.’

technomad,

This does look fun, my first thoughts went back to the mx vs atv series. Any racing game that allows physical violence against your adversaries is a formula for a good time 😁

technomad,

The first one was a lot of fun, even though I was pretty shit at it and didn’t have anyone to play it with at the time.

technomad,

Nintendo was responsible for that?

Day 70 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (lemmy.world) angielski

The Game is Fallout New Vegas. I finally beat Dead Money. Just like how I started it I decided this would be an appropriate screenshot to end with. I ended up taking off with the gold after killing Elijah the first time for the achievement(Took him out using some C4 I planted and detonated on him). It took me a while but I...

technomad,

Can you and the other guy doing the screenshots thing do a collaboration? If not, how about a feud then? Lol

technomad,

How about a link?

technomad, (edited )

Thanks! Looks like a fun game. Interesting that you don’t really ‘hit’ the notes, moreso just line them up. I feel like it would be the most fun with the actual dj midi controller.

It’s nice to see an evolution/continuation of the genre that so many of us grew up with.

technomad,

Oh, awesome! I must have missed that

technomad,

Cool concept. Hope this game does well, I’ll be excited to give it a go!

technomad,

You’re missing out, it’s actually a really fun game.

technomad,

Where’s the best place to give feedback?

technomad, (edited )

Positives:

I’m loving the music so far, really awesome chiptunes, great vibes. I love the fast paced movement and combat, and responsive controls. I’m not sure how much patience I’ll have for the precision platforming, but it feels really well done.

Suggestions:

-Default controls for the controller weren’t my favorite. It’s great that customizing them is super easy. I’d suggest these for the defaults: screenshot

-I noticed that the defaults for ‘scroll right’ and ‘scroll left’ weren’t working with the right stick. I don’t know if this could be because I changed the defaults, but setting up these two controls to the corrosponding d-pad buttons fixed it.

-Replace the Reddit link with a Lemmy one instead?

technomad,

I’ve been having the worst time trying to get hotlinks to work lately…

…akamaihd.net/…/83AE564DA0ADB8D9CD0DC464917B33C22…

(Hopefully that works)

Thanks for the responses, looking forward to playing more of this and seeing it progress!

technomad,

Awesome!

One more thing I wanted to mention real quick; there doesn’t seem to be a way to drop through ledges. Not sure if that was intentional or not, but maybe the special move that is mapped to ‘down+A’ interferes with this (usually) default mechanic?

technomad,

I respect that.

So, I ended up switching the control scheme again… My reasoning why I switched it up in the first place was because having attack on the ‘x’ button feels more natural. However, this was making some of the platforming where you have to attack things mid-jump even more difficult. So I switched it back to left bumper = attack, right bumper = block, x = slot 1 (I think this will likely be the final version)

technomad,

More positives:

I also really enjoy the intro screen. It’s chill, and simple, but really well crafted. The subtle details like the syncronized blinking of the button combo indicator to start the game and the slight movement of the title text. I really appreciate that it takes you immediately into the game so quickly/easily too. It’s nice to just have the capability to jump right in and start exactly where you left off last time.

Really, I had to take a moment to write this comment just so I could listen to the intro song loop a few times. Really digging the tunes :)

technomad,

That was an enticing trailer, those stringed instruments got me.

Itch.io is also having a summer sale (including a lot of freebies) (feddit.uk) angielski

We’re all well aware of Steam’s summer sales, but don’t forget that indie storefront itch.io also has a lot of games on sale this week. I’ve linked to my post in !freegames which covers 22 games that are currently completely free, but you can browse their games on sale page directly for a huge number of indies (of...

technomad,

Any favorites so far?

El Paso Elsewhere was pretty fun for a jaunt.

Embracer rolls out new AI policy to 'massively enhance game development' | Game Developer (www.gamedeveloper.com) angielski

Article textNewly-restructured Swedish conglomerate, Embracer Group, will leverage AI models to bolster game production. As noted in Embracer’s annual report, the company has adopted a new AI policy package it claims has the capability to “massively enhance” its production process by “increasing resource efficiency,...

technomad,

Name and shame them

technomad,

That was a really excellent write up, thank you for elaborating. It’s helpful to know the truth of how these companies are acting, and important for consumers to try not to forget. They will continue to take advantage, if we allow it.

technomad,

I need to give this another chance, but I wasn’t able to get past the initial first level because of the constant alarm sounding in the background.

technomad,

For sure, I will probably mute or turn it way down next time.

technomad,

Oh that would be cool. I should probably just look at a guide or something. I think that would be beneficial for me nowadays in general anyway.

technomad,

This is something that should’ve been backwards compatible, not re-released

technomad,

You think they’re going to vastly improve it though? My impression is they’ll do some kind of gimmick again. I could be wrong though.

technomad,

Ok, that one might catch my interest.

technomad,

and then they’d re-sell it a bunch of times after that too.

technomad,

That looked like it could be fun, the trailer did a good job presenting the game.

technomad,

I hated Hollow Knight

but why though?

technomad,

Interesting. I didn’t have those same reactions, but your reasons are valid. The game kept my interest through the majority of it, though I never did beat it. I definitely just nope’d out of some of the more difficult areas in the game, so I kind of get what you’re saying. For me though, I felt like the mechanics were enough to keep me playing even if the characters weren’t that interesting or whatever.

With Nine Sols so far I’m really enjoying it (I haven’t played that much yet). It is rather difficult though, and I’m not sure how far I’ll get with it before I get burned out on it…

Falkerie71’s comment was pretty accurate.

technomad,

This seems pretty awesome, I may just have to give it a go. I never had a chance to play through MM back in the day.

technomad,

Early access on the 18th!!!

technomad,

For anyone on the fence, I’d wait a while and read reviews too if you’re thinking about getting an early access copy. The game seems good, but as it’s in early access, it’s still got quite a ways to go for refinements in the gameplay and other things. I do not consider it very playable right now, until the controls are able to be customized, and the game doesn’t run very well right now either (for me, you may have different results on your system).

technomad,

taopunk! This game looks like it’s going to be sick!!

technomad,

The only similarities I’m seeing is Japanese, and metroidvania. That game looks cool too though, and I appreciate the hand drawn aesthetic. Have you played it?

technomad,

Hell yeah, Onimusha was (still is?) badass! I haven’t played since the ps2 days

technomad,

Thanks for the heads up! Super excited to get back into this one!

technomad,

My thoughts too, quite the opposite.

AutoForge - Game that combines Terraria with Factorio? angielski

Just came across this game, and seems like a very good game for people who are into Terraria and or Factioro, as this seems to be a mix of the two. Quite the smart idea if you ask me. The planned Release Date is 27 Mar, 2024, however there is a Demo available on Steam already. I’ve never played Factorio so dont judge me to...

technomad,

Looks cool, and I like the synthwave music
