Really want a sequel or follow up to doorkickers: action squad

Kjell, do games w Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Official Launch Trailer
@Kjell@lemmy.world avatar

For me, this is the most anticipated game this year. Even if GTA6 is released.

It should be relatively stable and bug-free according to reviews. However, I’m still going to wait for a patch or two before picking it up.

poleslav,

I’ve got about 15 hours into it so far (played from when it released into the wee hours of the morning) and the only bugs I came across so far was I’ve seen one person gliding across the ground instead of walking. IMO, this game is an absolute banger and masterpiece. Definitely a breath of fresh air to have a game work out of the box on the first minute

Onimusha was such a good series. Happy to see it being remastered.

Capcom is always a toss up with whether they care about any given IP anymore.

otp, do games w Capcom Fighting Collection 2 - Pre-Order Trailer

Included Games:

  • Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro
  • Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001
  • Capcom Fighting Evolution
  • Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER
  • Power Stone
  • Power Stone 2
  • Project Justice
  • Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein

These may be more “underdog” games, but the two Power Stone games and Project Justice have sold me on this! (… eventually, when it’s discounted, lol)

(Cross-commenting because I worked real hard for this formatting…lmao)

ampersandrew,
@ampersandrew@lemmy.world avatar

CvS2 is not an underdog game, but this is a hell of a collection. I never got to play Power Stone back in the day, so I’m looking forward to those.

otp,

Yeah, I agree! I rarely see people talk about CvS2, though!

ampersandrew,
@ampersandrew@lemmy.world avatar

It was a competitive mainstay for years. Like with MvC2, they could probably charge for this one game what they’re going to charge for the whole collection, and people would pay it.

otp,

Oh, I didn’t realize that, thanks for the knowledge!

baronvonj, do games w Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny Remastered - Trailer
@baronvonj@lemmy.world avatar

The first two were crackin. The 3rd one with Jean Reno and time travel was a bit odd. I don’t think I finished what came next and the series dropped off my radar until the recent Netflix series. I’m excited about the new ‘Way of The Sword’ game. Might go back and check out the 2019 Warlords remaster.

Dang! I have watched 0 trailers and didn’t play the open beta or watch anything other than the first ever teaser. I’m going in blind as hell.

Suck_on_my_Presence, do games w Rift of the NecroDancer Official Launch Trailer

I played the demo and gosh this is a difficult game. Good fun though

EonNShadow,

Same - it’s pretty fun on a guitar controller if you have one!

KaRunChiy, do games w Rift of the NecroDancer Official Launch Trailer

Already bought it, I put some hours into the demo and that's only like 5 songs

mox, do games w Rift of the NecroDancer Official Launch Trailer

I still haven’t managed to beat Crypt as anyone other than Cadence. I wonder if this game will be even harder.

Thassodar,

Love rhythm games, couldn’t get into Crypt. Saw a review for Rift and will have to check out the demo.

smeg,

Bard is good for learning the mechanics at a slow pace (if I remember correctly, it’s been a while!)

mox,

Thanks, but having finished the game with Cadence, I think I understand the mechanics.

smeg,

Lol fair point. A couple of the newer characters I remember being easier too, Aria is impossible though.

Hmm, that sounds like my cousin doing the voice work for the trailer, I’ll have to see if it shows up on her imdb now that it’s live.

HATEFISH, do games w Age of Mythology Retold News: Immortal Pillars [Chinese expansion] and PlayStation 5 Releases are Coming

Can anyone comment if the remake is any good or worth buying? I remember enjoying the original but don’t remember the details.

Zagorath,
@Zagorath@aussie.zone avatar

I’m very nervous about the game’s future, given the AoE3 remake was just officially mothballed last week and AoM has fewer active players on Steam.

But for the game in its current state, I’d say that yes, it’s really, really good. It made a fair few changes from the old version, nearly all of which are excellent improvements. They said their goal was to make this game the game you remember playing through nostalgia goggles, rather than being strictly faithful to the original, and I think they did that really well. You can build bigger armies and reuse god powers. Better quality of life features, etc.

The Chinese expansion releases next month, and they’ve committed to at least one more expansion after that (by preselling the Premium Edition with the first 2 expansions). Aztects or something else from the Americas is likely. If it turns out those expansions are going to be cheap and rushed and crap just to meet their contractual obligations, that’s really unfortunate. I really hope that won’t happen. But in the worst case…the game with what they’ve released already is really good.

Feel free to head over to !aom if you want to discuss more.

TheFeatureCreature,
@TheFeatureCreature@lemmy.world avatar

It’s very good and an extremely faithful remaster. The only thing I don’t like is that most of the new voice actors are not as good, but there is a mod you can download (within the game’s own mod manager) to restore the original voices. Also the menu system is kinda janky, but it works.

CosmoNova, do games w Age of Mythology Retold News: Immortal Pillars [Chinese expansion] and PlayStation 5 Releases are Coming

It‘s a decent remaster but after I‘ve learned about human rights violations in the studios in Indonesia that worked on this and other recent Microsoft titles… Cool but I think I‘m good.

Wrufieotnak,

Wait what? This news did not reach me till now. Why does everything connected to big companies have to be so shitty.

Zagorath,
@Zagorath@aussie.zone avatar

I’m not aware of any allegations relating to Age of Mythology or any of the Forgotten Empires–lead Age games. It would strike me as unlikely, given the nature of these games as remasters of ancient code by a group formed initially as modders for AoE2.

A different situation from aoe4, which was developed primarily by Relic, which is a much more conventional game development company, and was developed from scratch.

Atari's recent games have been pretty good. And it is nice that this is being developed by the same folks who made BIT.TRIP.

However, it is really hard to make something new and fresh with the old Breakout formula.

brognak, do gaming w Breakout Beyond - Official Announcement Trailer

This looks pretty dope tbh. Will probably get high and completely zone out to this for prolonged periods.
