I’m very nervous about the game’s future, given the AoE3 remake was just officially mothballed last week and AoM has fewer active players on Steam.
But for the game in its current state, I’d say that yes, it’s really, really good. It made a fair few changes from the old version, nearly all of which are excellent improvements. They said their goal was to make this game the game you remember playing through nostalgia goggles, rather than being strictly faithful to the original, and I think they did that really well. You can build bigger armies and reuse god powers. Better quality of life features, etc.
The Chinese expansion releases next month, and they’ve committed to at least one more expansion after that (by preselling the Premium Edition with the first 2 expansions). Aztects or something else from the Americas is likely. If it turns out those expansions are going to be cheap and rushed and crap just to meet their contractual obligations, that’s really unfortunate. I really hope that won’t happen. But in the worst case…the game with what they’ve released already is really good.

It’s very good and an extremely faithful remaster. The only thing I don’t like is that most of the new voice actors are not as good, but there is a mod you can download (within the game’s own mod manager) to restore the original voices. Also the menu system is kinda janky, but it works.
It‘s a decent remaster but after I‘ve learned about human rights violations in the studios in Indonesia that worked on this and other recent Microsoft titles… Cool but I think I‘m good.
I’m not aware of any allegations relating to Age of Mythology or any of the Forgotten Empires–lead Age games. It would strike me as unlikely, given the nature of these games as remasters of ancient code by a group formed initially as modders for AoE2.
A different situation from aoe4, which was developed primarily by Relic, which is a much more conventional game development company, and was developed from scratch.

Masz dać się przygnieść wrażeniu że “oni wygrają”, podczas gdy “ich” władza dosłownie wisi na włosku. Dlatego właśnie próbują zdławić wszelki opór, zanim ten się zmaterializuje. Wmówić ludziom, że bunt po prostu nie ma już sensu, bo starwarsowe Imperium właśnie się narodziło i zaczyna swój marsz ku chwale. I mają szczerą nadzieję, że nie skapniemy się, że to gówno prawda.
Władza Trumpa wisi na włosku nie tylko dlatego, że ma niewielką przewagę w Izbach i wygrał wybory w sumie o kilka milimetrów. Albo że w agencjach federalnych nikt go nie lubi. Ona wisi na włosku dlatego, że Amerykanie są bardziej progresywni niż jego hardline zwolennicy, i że swoje wątłe zwycięstwo zawdzięcza tylko temu, że spora część z tych ludzi została w domu, wkurwiona na fikołki Demokratów. Ale nie znaczy to że będą biernie tolerować to wszystko co pomarańczowy człowiek zrobi. W razie większego buntu Trumpowi zostanie już tylko użycie siły wobec tych ludzi, a to może jeszcze bardziej wyalienować jego moderate wyborców. No i użycie siły wobec własnych obywateli podkopie jego własne narcystyczne mniemanie o sobie - on chce, żeby ludzie go kochali i poważnie wmawia sobie, że masy go uwielbiają.
