Which headset did you end up buying? Was 7th Guest the first VR game you played? How did you like it? Sry I’m curious, kept thinking about you every time I saw something about 7th Guest ^^
I‘d watch the video but I don’t want to get spoilers before playing it myself.
I got a Quest 3, pre-ordered just for this game lol. Not my first VR game, I’ve played some on my sister’s Oculus Rift, and played a couple things in the week I had my headset before this game came out. I think the headset is great, really cool to be able to wirelessly link to the PC or play standalone, and the passthrough mode is cool too. And the cameras can auto create your boundaries too which is very convenient compared to my sister’s Oculus Rift.
T7GVR was awesome, you could tell the devs were real fans of the original game.
The puzzles aren’t as difficult as T7G or T11H, but there are a larger number of puzzles to compensate, and the puzzles still force you to think. People hated how difficult T11H was in 1995 lol so that would be even worse today, there’s no way any puzzle game could be that difficult today and expect to sell more than 5 copies lol.
And the soundtrack is full of beautiful remixes of the original songs. The volumetric videos are really cool and the graphics and art are great. The acting is good too, not as over the top as the original, but no one would’ve taken that seriously in this day and age lol.
Totally understandable about spoilers. I hope you enjoy the game!
We have a Discord community which is much more active than this. We’re very careful about spoilers there with separate channels for spoilers and even still using spoiler tags. We’ve also got a couple of the devs in there. discord.gg/Hss5cJg
Multiple fans of the OG in our community are gushing over this game, haven’t heard anyone who doesn’t like it.
I also follow this game remotely, but didn’t play for at least two years. The multitude of systems is so confusing, I wouldn’t even know where to start.
Just start by shooting enemies in the face. When you feel ready just have a look at one of the system and learn to use it to improve your ability to shoot enemies in the face. Repeat until you understand all the systems.
That’s what I’ve been doing for the past 10 years and it’s been working rather well!
I mean I played the game for 383 hours (amazingly). But I stopped following until they introduced the… I don’t even know how to call it, the update with the hoverboard and the planet. I started doing a little bit of hunting for the big guys on that one plain, but never quite figured out how to do it properly.
So now the question would be, what should I check out? Is there maybe a guide with overview with all the different game “activities”?
The in-game codex will likely give you an idea of the features available to you. Alternatively, you might want to have a look at your profile and view the weapons and warframes that interest you that you have yet to unlock/master. From there you may have a look at the wiki to view how to obtain them. Some such warframes, such as Hildrin, will require you to interact with some extra systems, such as unlocking the ability to equip an archwing weapon in regular missions.
I played the demo at Nintendo live. It’s pretty fun, still just a Mario platforming game. Nothing that groundbreaking like some reviews would have you believe.
Be interesting to see what it’d get if you took the Mario textures off and it was reviewed as just the game itself instead of the branding, I saw all the 9/10, 10/10 and it’s just standard for any reviewer and Nintendo.
I’m pretty happy with it. I feel like Nintendo took a lot inspiration from Yooka-Laylee and the impossible lair.
Which I’m okay with since that was the best 2D platformer in a long time. The idea of unlocking new abilities for use in stages and backtracking. Plus the interactive world map. Though I feel like YL took that idea a little farther.
Frankly this doesn’t look very impressive, you can basically get the same experience by playing standard System Shock 2 with an HD texture mod, they should’ve at least improved the 3D models. If this was a free update for owners on Steam and etc I wouldn’t complain, but as it stands it just feels lazy.
I totally agree. This is one of my favourite games of all time, I play it once a year, and I expected definitely an upgrade. This looks like the HD mod, you are right. No need to buy I think.
