Sail the high seas. That way you don’t support them and get to play it. I haven’t pirated a game for many years but some game houses deserves what comes to them
I should be playing Baldur’s Gate 3, and I want to be playing Baldur’s Gate 3, and my wife wants me to be playing Baldur’s Gate 3, and I sit down intending to play Baldur’s Gate 3… and then I play Stellaris.
I Finally beat Baldur’s Gate 3 this past week. Act Three was really intimidating but when I came back after taking a 6 month break, none of the items or interactions were as previous as before.
Have a search for “universal pokémon randomiser” (there are apparently loads of different forks of it now), it’s main feature is to randomise which pokémon you encounter, their types, moves, etc, but you could skip that and just set “change trade evolutions” and “catch em all mode” to get exactly what you want. I would recommend playing it randomised though!
I swear every time I start looking into a romhack that claims to just be a mostly vanilla QoL update they always add in a bunch of random stuff to “fix” the difficulty.
Like, yes I am aware the games are incredibly easy. They’re for children. I originally played most of them as children. Just let me get high and stomp all through FRLG with a perfect-IV Feraligatr and the Gen 4 physical-special split. If I wanted to do Nuzzlockes I would… Do Nuzzlockes. If I wanted a game with difficult gym leaders and level caps, I would go play one of the thousands of romhacks that have that.
Finished my time with Clair Obscur and feeling a bit adrift. Such a beautiful game and one I hope I can go back to and experience again some time later (plus I left one achievement behind before quitting).
Jumped in and out of a few things. Currently playing Monster Train 2 some more in preparation for the DLC today and not sure when I’ll dive into Spider-Man 2…but that’s my next big one on my radar.
Anything on PS5. I bought one thinking I’d catch up on whatever I’d missed since the PS1 days. Heard that that mushroom zombie game was good. Never started it. I just sit at the desk and play another round of CS2 deathmatch.
The first season of the show is pretty close to the first game… You might want to just skip to part 2 if you have limited time to play. It’s the better game imo.
One of the best narrative gaming experiences I’ve ever had in my life, and I wish I could erase the memory and experience it again for the first time. Season 2 of the show is only the first half of the second game.
The Ghost of Tshushima/Yotei games are also great. And of course, Bloodborne.
Not quite the same dillema, but I have a similar issue. I have many singleplayer games I know I want to finish, but when I start my vegout state, it often defaults to a few known multiplayer games, even knowing I’ve had many sessions that leave me infuriated.
Immersive Sims: BioShock. Dishonored, Deus Ex… etc. I can’t do FPS, it’s so unnatural for me not to be able to see my character. I struggle to establish spatial relationships with anything else inside the game world, and I don’t find aiming fun at all.
To a lesser extent, yet for similar reasons, fast-paced action FPS like Doom. Looks super fun, but I can’t get over my fundamental issues with the genre.
Dead Space 1 remaster. I categorically refuse to give any money to EA (even before the Saudi buyout), and that’s their only game I’m even remotely interested in that isn’t available through alternative channels.
A lot of soulslike games. I’m terrible with a controller for anything that is not in 2D. I tried Dark Souls 1. Managed to kill Gargoyles, ventured into Darkroot Basin and got filtered. Ents taking 80% of my HP on hit was pretty frustrating too.
What’s with the face censor? Is that just a photo mode thing? (I get it, it’s a reference to the Kiroshi optics blocking cameras. They say it once but it doesn’t seem to matter later, if you run from NCPD and break line of sight, others still know who you are despite the Kiroshis hiding your face from the cameras. So it was just flavour text.)
As a teenager, I had a nice old easy chair I used when computing, until one of our cats started pissing on it. Couldn’t get the stink out, so I had to trash the chair. Fucking cat, I liked that chair. He never did it to anyone else. Well, except he pissed in my friend’s shoe for some reason.
