Używam open street map (osmand), tylko trzeba sprawdzić, czy na pewno aktualne. Zdarzyło mi się w Pirenejach bezmyślnie pójść na nieistniejące pola namiotowe (już usunięte).

No i w polsce spoko jest mapa-turystyczna.pl

I’d like to say that while the game feels great, the engine does not. I had to drop from 7680x2160 to 3840x1080 to make it playable on an RTX-3090. For context, I can play Star Citizen at full resolution just fine (7800X3D, X870 mobo and plenty of RAM.) I think it’s a UE5 issue. I also CTD a few minutes ago.

Gameplay wise it feels like an updated BL game. motion is vastly improved with double-jumping, climbing and dashing mechanics. I can’t say much about the guns or skills, since I’m currently only lvl 5, but the auto-gathering of ammo and the addition of a medkit mechanic (hit T to use the med gun on yourself which is itself a loot item) is a welcome improvement.

That’s about as much as I can say so far. I hate that it was $70, but we all knew that was going to be the new normal for AAA games.

Been playing Silksong as quickly as possible while still being enjoyable, as I'd rather avoid spoilers and quite a few of the people I follow are posting content on it.

But once it's done, planning to go back to Final Fantasy XII and Girl from Arkanya.

viral.vegabond,

How do you like girl from arkanya so far?

Auster,

Got to when Kapi is introduce. Up to that point, as a Brazilian? A bit cringe. Can't say much more about the story as I didn't play further. On gameplay, at least on that tutorial segment, it plays fantastic.

Auster,

But about story, if going by what I saw the devs sharing, humour is very promising. =D

viral.vegabond,

Thanks for sharing. I've definitely been eyeballing that one

Woah! Someone who liked the ending! You're too wholesome for a gaming community lol.

I read one meta take on the ending that both sounded interesting and like cope. The end of Part II makes you feel exactly like Ellie feels. You push through because you want a conclusion to the story, just like Ellie. The end might be terrible, but it is an ending. In a meta way, you could get a better "ending" by stoping when Ellie and Dina are together at the farmhouse. You can stop playing, just like Ellie could stop obsessing over Abby, but how many people did that? Who would stop when the story isn't done?

Personally, I think the writers made a bet that they could stretch "an eye for an eye leaves the world blind" into a novel.

@MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

I’m the kind of person that even if I don’t agree with the message of a game, I can respect and like it.

The meta aspect was something I noticed too. Maybe it is cope like you said, but the story making you feel how Ellie feels is the kind of story I love. Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes and all that. I didn’t think of the farmhouse “ending” though, I can see that though because the game officially ends at the farmhouse. So the “better ending” being there I could see, especially with them escaping alive (except for Jesse)

The ending was sad, and I still not sure how I feel about it.

I’m pretty curious (read: leery) about the post-launch monetization. Does the game feel complete or did they obviously hold things back for the battle passes or whatever? Will I have to pay in to enjoy things like a level cap increase?

They were pretty clear about going HAM on paid stuff after launch, and the game is already priced super high, so this might end up being a sale pickup for me.

Z tego co widziałem na telegramach, oldschoolowych forach a mainstream żyjący w kraju na vkontakcie. Na Lemmym jest nie mało Rosjan, ale to mogą nie być dla nich czasy do publicznej dyskusji w języku ojczystym…

I’ll always have a soft spot for the original Xbox due to XBMC, the homebrewed Xbox Media Center.

Though most would probably know it better by its current name, Kodi.

fulg,

Same here. I did it the hard way with a modchip but these days it’s all software. It lived as a media player for a long time. I eventually replaced it with a PC running Windows Media Center, that was nowhere near as good…

I've got a lot of nostalgia for DS homebrew. Tons of fun things you can do with a flashcart.

3DS too, but although modding was a lot more widespread due to how easy it was, I feel like homebrew games were kinda lacking. Custom themes were great at least.

Quetzalcutlass, (edited )

The DS with a flashcart was nearly perfect. It was incredibly pocket-friendly due to the rectangular shape, the screen was protected from scratches while folded so you didn’t need a case, and it could emulate every console up to the N64 as well as every Nintendo handheld (obviously). I was upset when my cart finally died - no other handheld emulator I’ve found is as convenient.

PS2 because the mod I used was nothing more than some styrofoam in the disc ejection sensor to do hot swapping.

Although, I also liked Morrowind on my modded xbox, becsuse it used the same file system as the PC version and could be modded if the mod was just an .esp file made in the editor and you manually added it to the load order .ini.

The PSVita is amazing modded, it has full support for running ps1 and psp games and psp home brew as well.

The vita home brew scene is also pretty crazy.

Simply modding it to have expanded storage is fantastic. I have a PSTV hooked up to my hanging room TV (basically like a firestick/chromecast) since it doesn’t need to sit on anything.

It kinda serves the same purpose as that PS1 Classic, except better in almost every way.

FartMaster69,

Expanded storage is such a godsend for the Vita.

Switch, solely for the fact that you can easily play emulated games on the TV or on the go without hacky solutions.

The GBA, not bc it has fancy features like the Wii, but bc the mods deliver an experience I couldn’t otherwise have.

Sure, running ripped games on a PS1 or full-on Slippi on a Wii is nice, but I wasn’t locked out of those experiences. I could use a PC or even my phone these days to get a similar experience.

However, GBA hardware mods are all about making the GBA the best it can be, not just doing something in yet another place like the Wii mods.

For instance, in the form factor of the GBA (i.e. the landscape form that is far superior to the SP), you can:

  • Install a beautifully bright LCD (these days a display better than what came on the SP)
  • Switch over to a rechargeable battery via USB-C
  • Replace the awful mushy membrane buttons (which have, unfortunately, taken over the gaming industry) with tactile clicky push buttons
  • Run any game you want off with a flash cart (if you’re rich enough for one).

With those mods and the extensive and wonderful GameBoy/GameBoy Color + GBA library, you get a truly elite handheld experience.

Sure I can play GBA games on my phone, but I can’t play them with a device that feels so good to hold like this. A dedicated distraction free gaming experience on the go as well. It’s personalized and practical and beautiful.

So yeah, loading backups from SD on a Wii is cool, but to me, nothing beats perfecting an already great device through hardware mods!
