Just like I am happy with Apple and Google taking a cut and running their app stores. If these big companies could make their own store, they would. Apple would lose a cut, but that does not affect me as a consumer. What does affect me is a gate keeper keeping terrible practices in check. Making it nearly impossible to cancel a subscription instead of having a handy menu to just turn it off. Having places to put credit cards that are not secure. Collecting personal data nonstop. Etc etc.
I don't think any of their stuff doesn't work now. Even stuff like Halo with anticheat has been allowed to work via proton already.
This doesn't provide any promise that you can use gamepass or windows store games on Linux, and it doesn't provide any promise that they don't use anticheat in a restrictive way on Linux machines. They can trivially provide a bypass in the cloud environment that doesn't get shipped to end users.
Hopefully they don't do that, but this doesn't really mean a lot to individuals buying their games.

Not expecting anything for the Switch 2 as Nintendo wouldn’t compromise holiday sales. Just just regular Switch releases this year and early next year stuff.
I think most people that cared about the game could hand over $30 more for “early access”, will full release push the needle that much? I don’t know, don’t think so.
Copies of the Premium edition were included with a lot of graphics card sales, and there’s been a lot of upgrading going in with some card prices coming down. It could be a significant factor.
That’s exactly how I got my copy. The highest tier AMD GPU (7900 XTX, 24 GB) dropped to $800 on Amazon sometime in July, performing about 95% as fast as an RTX 4090 in most titles, which cost $1600-1900 (10% sales tax), and outperforms or matches the 4090’s performance in Starfield.
I’m getting 108 FPS on 4K Ultra outdoors, and 128 FPS indoors, with Resolution Scale at 100% and FSR disabled.
Let’s hope not. But I think they’d prefer a dedicated voice actor to replace him, as the logistics of Chris Pratt recording his voice lines between his acting commitments would cost too much for Nintendo.
It’s certainly pretty conspicuous timing, but the guy is also almost 70, and been doing the job for over 30 years. It’d definitely make sense for him to just figure it’s time to pull back.
